      CHAPTER ONE

      Working as a doctor in a jail fell into my lap like a pencil rolling off a desk. I had another job at a doctor’s office in town, but picked up extra hours at the jail when possible. Dr. Perry Bolden was the primary doctor at New Market’s jail, but I filled in for him when he was away. Working as a doctor fulfilled me in ways other occupations never could. I hoped not to roam the halls of a jail forever, but I was happy to help anyone who needed it.

      Dr. Perry Bolden was on a vacation with his wife and kids when my life changed forever. It started as any other day I had to work at the jail in New Market, the town where I lived. It was ninety minutes outside of downtown Chicago without traffic. I was grateful to work in town and avoid the commute to the city like some of my neighbors.

      Morning, doc, a guard said as he gave me the usual pat down. I held out my arms as his hands ran up and down my body. His touch did nothing for me. This guard was always friendly, but he didn’t turn me on. Not like some prisoners. I thanked the guard and continued to my office.

      I had to watch my eyes after I passed security. So many of the men had massive arms, tattoos, and eyes like they had nothing to lose. A guard stood outside my office when an inmate came for a visit, but it never stopped sprinkles of fear from dusting my psyche. I mostly treated emergencies. Putting out fires as they arose. Most disputes were between cellmates who couldn’t get along.

      At least the emergencies were few. Working at a jail was a lot more boring than it sounded. I spent most of my days surfing the web on my cell phone. I had special permission to bring it past security, since the warden knew how much of my time was spent alone behind a locked door.

      I never watched dirty videos at work, but I had nasty thoughts. All the time alone made my imagination wild. I wondered what would happen if I locked my office door to treat one of the prisoners orally. There were a few generic condoms in the office. What I would do to roll one over a prisoner’s manhood and sit on it. My member got hard several times throughout my days alone in the office, thinking about how it would be to have one of them behind me.

      How long had they gone without intimate touch? How much would they love sliding around inside me?

      I knew it was a wild fantasy. Impossible. Ridiculous. It was a dream I needed to let go of because the chances of it happening were abysmal. As sexy as it’d be to have a set of thick arms holding me down while a hungry man took me from behind, it would ruin my career. I’d lose my license. The jail would fire me.

      Despite all that, I knew the moment could be worth it.

      Some men in the jail made me salivate with desire. They made me want to steal the keys from the guard when he patted me down to set them free. I only needed one to split me like a sandwich roll, but there wouldn’t be any harm in a few more.

      Sirens rang throughout the jail, sending me crashing back to reality from a fantasy of two muscular prisoners using both my holes at the same time. My heart raced as the clouds of my daydreams parted. I couldn’t see anything from my tiny office. There were no cameras. Nobody to tell me what was happening. All I knew were the sounds hitting my ears.

      Pounding footsteps. Shouting. The endless wail of the sirens. It’d never been like this at the jail while I was there, but Dr. Bolden told me stories during the training sessions he gave me. I always feared the day would come when I heard the sirens.

      I jumped from my chair and fell to the floor with my head tucked under my arms when someone banged on the door.

      Doctor, we have an emergency, the person said.

      I moved my hands. The door was still locked. I looked each way, telling myself I had to get up and open the door. The state paid me to treat these prisoners. I knew what I was getting into when I signed on the dotted line for the job. Coming, I called. I stood, wiped my hands on my pants, and went to the door with a racing heart.

      It was a perfect day for lifting weights and playing basketball. I finished some sets before playing a pickup game with the boys. Everyone took turns between the gym and sports equipment. Time in the courtyard was precious, so everyone tried their best to get along to make the best of it.

      Yo, Celtus.

      I turned with a basketball in my hand. Donald, the most annoying guy in the jail, was walking toward me. Everyone sighed when they saw him. He caused problems everywhere he went. He had been in and out of jail since he was nineteen and was pushing fifty now.

      What do you want, Donald? I asked. I tossed the basketball to the other guys and stepped away from the game. They didn’t have to stop because
