      As you already learned that PowerPoint is a presentation software. PowerPoint 2019 has many in-built features which make it a truly smart app.

      Let us discuss some smart features of PowerPoint 2019.

      Creating a Photo Album

      The Photo Album feature of PowerPoint allows the user to create a slide show or presentation using the photographs or image files selected by the user. The Photo Album may be created for personal or professional use.

      To create a photo album, follow these steps:

      In case of contiguous files, hold and press Shift key while selecting the files. In case of non-contiguous files, hold and press the Ctrl key.

      The photo album will appear in a new PowerPoint window. The first slide of the photo album shows the default title as Photo Album followed by the user name as by . Click in the respective placeholders to change the title or user name of the photo album.

      Editing a Photo Album

      The order of the photographs in the photo album can be easily changed. Also, the appearance of each photograph can be adjusted. The PowerPoint also allows the user to add captions below the photographs.

      To edit a photo album open the photo album and follow these steps:

      Screen Recording

      PowerPoint 2019 allows the user to record the action on the screen alongwith the audio and embed the recording into the PowerPoint presentation.

      To embed the screen activities into a slide, open that slide and follow these steps:

      The screen will appear dimmed and the Recording Control dock will appear on the screen.

      Do the actions you want to record. Move the mouse pointer towards top of the screen to make the Recording Control dock reappear on the screen.

      You can review the video by clicking on the Play button below the embedded video on the slide.

      To save the video as a separate video file, right click on the video and click on the Save Media as option from the context menu.

      Ink Equations

      The Ink Equations feature of the PowerPoint allows the user to write equations using finger or stylus (in case of touch screen) and mouse pointer (in other devices). These written equations are simultaneously and automatically converted into print form and shown in the Preview box.

      To use Ink Equations feature, follow these steps:

      The ‘written’ will be inserted on the slide in the ‘printed’ form.

      Smart Lookup

      Sometimes, while reading some text, we come across a word or phrase of which we do not know the meaning. The Smart Lookup feature plays a very important role in such a situation. If the computer is connected to the Internet, it shows the definition, synonymous as well as some related articles available on the Internet related to the selected text.

      To use the Smart Lookup feature, follow these steps:

      On the right side of the PowerPoint window, the Search panel will show all related information and articles available on the Internet related to the selected text/phrase.

      Ink Annotations

      Annotations are the comments and observations added by the presenter on the text / images forming part of the presentation. This helps the presenter to highlight and emphasize on the important points while giving a presentation. The live addition of comments make it more understandable for the viewer instead of using different text effects and colours.

      To add annotations on a presentation, follow these steps:

      When the slide show starts, drag the mouse pointer (without clicking). Some presenter tools appear at the bottom left corner of the slide show screen.
