    Exercise 3- Read the text aloud before answering the questions.

    A Day at the Farm

    The sun was hot at the farm. Ann got a cup of water. Ben fed the hens in the pen. The cat sat on a mat by the barn. The pup ran and had fun. Pat had a hat on his head. He threw a ball to Jim. Jim then hit it with a bat. A frog hopped away from the ball.

    The pigs were in the mud. The dog dug a big pit. The cat and the dog were friends. The cat spotted a rat. It ran after the rat. The kids saw a lot of hens. A hen laid an egg in the pen. Ben put the egg in a box.

    The farmer had a big red truck. The truck had a lot of hay. The kids liked to play on the hay. The dog sat on the truck and barked. The hens clucked in the pen. The sun went down and it got dark. The stars came out. The kids sat by the fire. It was a good day at the farm.
