She had been born in 1966, when Dusty Springfield was top of the pops, so that was what they called her. It was almost impossible to believe that her mother had once listened to pop records and cared enough about them to name her only daughter after a female vocalist. Especially since her mother was nearly forty at the time and had not expected a little Dusty, or a little anything, to join their nice, neat family of two boys who were eleven and ten.
