Its SWiGacoustic standard sets a unified protocol, enabling seamless communication between acoustic modems from various manufacturers. As a SWiG member, EvoLogics supports the SWiGacoustic standard with our S2C 18/34 underwater acoustic modems. We're committed to driving standardization in subsea communication—an essential step for future-proofing underwater technology. 🌊 Abandoned and lost fishing gear, known as ghost nets, poses a significant threat to marine life. Earlier this year, we collaborated with WWF Deutschland to demonstrate the capabilities of our Sonobot 5—an autonomous surface vehicle equipped with AI-powered side-scan sonar—in detecting ghost gear. The trials confirmed that ghost nets are visible in the sonar output, suggesting a promising tool for more efficient cleanup efforts.
