The Prodigal is a steamy, frenemies to lovers, forbidden romance full of delicious angst and heart-wrenching revelations.

Arrogant.
Indifferent.
Uncompromising.
Remington Potter was a sarcastic jerk with a body of an avenging angel. He screamed good times and bad decisions.
But that’s not what made us friends.
His saving me that one night did—even if he denied it.
Remington Potter was my antihero.
I owed him at least a friendship and a plastic chair.
But I made one mistake.
I didn’t knock.
I didn’t look away.
All I saw was him on the floor.
Tormented.
Enraged.
And broken.
But that wasn’t the worst part.
I discovered Remington Potter wasn’t the mysterious savior I thought he was.
He was vengeful.
And I was the final piece in his game.

Remington is one of the best characters I've ever read! Hands down! It's impossible not to fall in love with him! I've adored him since the second he appeared in The Potter, and I just fell more head over heels for him as the series went on. Don't get me wrong, you can read The Prodigal as a standalone, but trust me, you don't want to miss one second of this incredible character!

Because of my obsession with Remington, my expectations were insanely high going into this book, and it didn't disappoint in the slightest! Kristy Marie gave us Remington's perfect match in Eden. She's a woman that gives as good as she gets and isn't easily deterred by a prickly asshole. In fact, she loves Remington's sarcasm and dickish behavior as much as I do.

The banter between Eden and Remington is next level amazing and hilarious like pretty much everything that comes out of Remington's mouth. I laughed out loud more times than I could count and highlighted damn near half the book! If you've read any of Kristy Marie's previous work, you know she always brings the funny, but The Prodigal has hysterical one liners back to back to back. It's so much fun!

Despite the amount of humor in this book, there's still a fair amount of angst, pain, and deep emotion. Remington's life has been no bed of roses, and in this book, we finally learn about his traumatic background and the consequences of living through it. Eden's life hasn't been picture perfect either, and it left me heartbroken for them both.

The Prodigal brought out all of the emotions in me, and it ended in the most satisfying and beautiful way I could have imagined. Please don't skip on the bonus epilogue. It's an absolute must read that concludes the series perfectly.

New adult fans that love a sarcastic, asshole hero, this is the one for you!

In another life I would keep you. I would be everything you deserve.

Kristy, Kristy, Kristy. What did you just do? You wrote a masterpiece that’s what!

Since the moment I first read Remington’s name, I knew I was going to fall head over heels in love for this man and boy I was not wrong. But I had no idea to what extent until I read The Prodigal.

Kristy writing enemies to lovers romances will always be elite and she never goes wrong but the thing that seals this masterpiece for me is the top tier humour. Every. Single. Time!!

If you know me well then you know my love language is sarcasm and aggressive love and Kristy Marie literally just wrote two main characters whose love languages was exactly that!

Do you know who I loved the most though? Eden. That girl and her unwavering loyalty! She had me in bits. The scenes where her and Remington were finally vulnerable broke me, but the scenes that broke me the worst were when she was going toe to toe with him, fighting back, even when she didn’t want to, speaking his love language to soothe him because that girl would have laid down her life for that boy and that in my eyes is what love is.

I’ll stop rambling now but I will say this. Don’t let the premise of this series put you off. I didn’t think plastic surgeons sounded intriguing but this series hits in a way I didn’t know I needed. I haven’t laughed so hard at a book in a long time. You won’t regret it if you decide to meet these possessive Potter men!

I think I can't speak for everyone when I say we've all been waiting for Remington's story.
He was a very entertaining character in the previous books in the series, which made us all laugh, but his story was also wrapped in mystery.

But his story is not funny but tragic, dramatic and sad.
His appearance and demeanor are just a facade to keep the outside world at bay.
Beneath all the sarcastic and sometimes mean jokes lies a broken child who has been on his own for years, struggling to survive.

This book is an emotional and heartbreaking story, full of horrifying memories from the past and the need for revenge.
But it's also a beautiful love story that's filled with sarcastic humor, epic banter and never-ending battling demons from the past.
Not only his, but also the girl that drives him crazy and doesn't want to let him go.

This book is once again in Kristy's unique way, a damn exciting and intriguing story. In her unique writing style, she wrote about a very difficult topic with a lot of sarcastic humor.
I love every single second of this book.

So if you like the following topics,
This book is for you 💕
💛 Sarcastic Hero
💛 Sassy Heroine
💛 Epic Banter
💛 Road Trip
💛 Forced Proximity
💛 One Bed
💛 Grumpy/Sunshine
💛 Tragic past
💛 Epic HEA

Devourable

Wildly entertaining, this strangers to frenemies to lovers romance held my attention with ease. It kept me on my toes, and the chemistry just built and built with every scene, until it pulled me in like a magnet. I generally consider "boring" books to be the worst ones, because I'm reading to be entertained. And this was anything but that. I loved the (anti)hero at the heart of this, a man who claims to be the villain of his own story. He's a liar, a chainsmoker, an unfeeling jerk. We met Remington back in The Potter, and I could not wait to get inside his head. He's the kind of sweet a-hole who steals your heart without even trying, and I loved that he met his match in Eden. The playfulness, banter, and chemistry between them was so engaging, as was the unpredictable, unexpected plot. It was unhinged and over-the-top in the best of ways, and I found myself devouring the pages. I loved it!

The story follows Remington, a man who is out for revenge. He had a complicated (not so great) childhood, and he blames that on one man in particular. Hoping to pay the man back for his sins, Remington has plans for his daughter. Rem is sure that Eden is the kind of entitled, privileged girl who has it coming, so he feels no remorse. But Eden isn't at all what Rem expected, and spending time with her has him reevaluating his plans. Eden doesn't back down from a challenge, she pushes all of his buttons, she seems to genuinely enjoy his dark moods, and she laughs at his threats. The girl might just be as messed up as him. As the two grow closer, Rem quickly realizes that he made a critical error in underestimating Eden.

Full disclosure, this series has been super uneven for me. I loved The Potter, but the messy backstories in the second and third book did not resonate with me. So I'm familiar with the characters, but not all caught up on the details. Still, I remembered loving Remington in The Potter, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on his story. He's the kind of guy who exudes this bad boy persona, but it's clear that his bark is worse than his bite. His actions show a softer side to him, even though his words never do. And that was true in this story as well - I loved that Eden fell for that side of him, and she didn't ask him to change. Marie managed to walk the line between jerk and swoon perfectly, and that's a major part of what makes the story work. Eden and Rem's connection is SO clear, and their chemistry evolves into something absolutely electric. It was definitely never boring, and I binged it faster than anything else I've read in a long time. And that's saying something.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

The Prodigal
is the final book in The Potter series by Kristy Marie. I guess you might be able to enjoy this as a standalone, but readers of the series have been anticipating Remington's story from the moment he was introduced in book one, and especially when we learn his origin story in the previous book. Do your self a favor and hop on back a few books and start at the beginning of the series.

My villian, the hero, who charms me with his lies and loves me with his truths.

Remington's number one goal is to get revenge against the crooked congressman who tore him from his family when he was an infant. The key to his revenge plan is the congressman daughter, Eden . It's quickly apparent Eden isn't the spoiled daddy's girl he expected to find, but instead a woman just as hardened by life as himself. He never lets anyone in, and she slowly chips at his walls by going toe to toe with his sarcasm and proving to be his equal. But when truths get told, will it stop them from their own version of happy.

My heart does this little shiver when he flips me off. If brutal honesty is Remington's love language, then rude and crude behavior must be mine.

OMG this was so freaking good. I knew it would be, but at the same time I wasn't prepared for the amount of feels and for my heart to break as much as it did. Remington is not a nice guy, he's a dick, and he's unapologetically an asshole. He's your I hate everyone but my inner circle , emotion is weakness, and touch those I love and die type of character, and I was here for it. Whereas Remington's traumatic childhood made him angry and jaded , Eden is kind of the opposite. She's come out of her trauma with a fuck it , I survived, and I'm going to enjoy myself attitude. Which makes them a perfect combination. He's rude to her, and she's rude right back, and the repertoire between them is highly entertaining. The two have a slow burn that ratchets up with great sexual tension. She pushes his buttons and they both love it until she can't hold back anymore. Once she takes them over the line , he can't keep his hands off her. My favorite part of their relationship is that Remington never stops being sarcastic and crude to Eden and she wouldn't have it any other way.

"You. Are. Mine." I feed off his anger, soaking up his heartbreaking truth. He loves me, and he hates himself for it. I am his exception.

Overall, The Prodigal by Kristy Marie was everything I wanted and more for Remington's story. A New Adult revenge story turned into love with grumpy/sunshine, hurt/comfort, forced proximity, white motel chairs, sarcasm, attitude, steam, emotion, a road trip, just one bed, a yellow suitcase, a beach detour and a happy ending fit for a villain and his queen.

"Do you enjoy provoking me, Eden?"
"No," I rasp, swallowing harshly. "I love it."

***5 "Mr. Rude A$$!!!" stars***

"Beware of pretty lies, my love. They are as ruthless as the truth."

From the very first moment that I met Remington, his plastic chair and his smoking habit in "The Potter", I knew that this was a man that i needed to learn more about...
And throughout this incredible series full of hot and tormented plastic surgeons, Kristy gifted us with a secondary character who meant so much to the Potters and to us!!!
I was anticipating his story so badly and here he is!!! And i still can not believe the beautiful story that he gave us!!!!
This was the perfect sample of grumpy-sunshine genre!!!
OMG!!! The fun I had while I was reading these hillarious dialogues!!!
Kristy, you are a mastermind and your sense of humor is out of this world!!!

"I'm going to destroy you, love."
"Do you promise?"

Remington might be the most sarcastic antihero that I have ever met, but he spoke my love languange fluently and the same goes for Eden...
Honestly, I couldn't imagine what kind of woman would be right for the sarcastic dark lord, but he had found the perfect match on Eden...
The girl spoke fluently his type of language and her insistence and loyalty made her the perfect candidate for Remy's dark and villainious heart...
But Eden wasn't just a girl for Remington... She was the perfect pawn to execute his revenge plan...
But what will happen when the pawn will get under his skin and demands a change of plans???

"Some stories aren't meant to have happy endings.
Some are solely meant to deliver revenge."

I don't really know what to tell you about this story, other than just go for it!!! It was just... perfect!!! As were the three books before this one!!!
I can guarantee you an eventful road trip, a sarcastic Adam, an Eve that was holding her own, many stolen fries and plastic chairs and you will pass me for crazy now, but trust me that these darn chairs are holding a great meaning...
Also, the Potters' appearances can guarantee you epic dialogues full of sarcastic love!!!
After all, our hero is the lord of sarcasm and you can't not fall at his feet for this certain trait of his!!!

"I hope you know I love you more than plastic chairs."

I am kind of sad that I have to leave the Potters behind, but every single book in this series gave me so much joy... Laugh and tears... Unforgettable adventures and beautiful, unique creatures in their own simplicity!!!
I won't be able to forget this bunch!!! Especially Remington...
I am like this sign to the side of the road where Remy and Eden had written their names with a permanent marker!!!
Eden, Remy and their story was the perfect conclusion to a very memorable series that will stay with me for a long time!!!
Just read this book!!! Remy demands your attention and with a very good reason!!!

"Hurt me with your truths, and heal me with your actions."

This story was raw and beautiful.

Oh wow, where do I even begin with these two? I mean, they both had extremely rough and messed-up pasts which molded them into the people they are today. Especially Remington, I mean all I wanted to do was give this man a huge bear hug.

𝑅𝑒𝓂𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓉𝑜𝓃 𝓂𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝒷𝑒 𝒻𝓁𝒶𝓌𝓁𝑒𝓈𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝑔𝑜𝓇𝑔𝑒𝑜𝓊𝓈 𝑜𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑜𝓊𝓉𝓈𝒾𝒹𝑒, 𝒷𝓊𝓉 𝒹𝑒𝑒𝓅 𝒾𝓃𝓈𝒾𝒹𝑒, 𝒶 𝓌𝒶𝓇 𝑜𝒻 𝓁𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒹𝒶𝓇𝓀 𝒷𝒶𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝒽𝒾𝓈 𝓈𝑜𝓊𝓁.

They have some top-notch banter, and they made me laugh so hard. I mean, talk about how much Remington hated Eden and wanted revenge, but that didn’t last long. She started to rub off on him, especially when she comforted him in his safe place.

𝐼 𝒸𝓇𝒶𝓋𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝑜 𝑜𝓌𝓃 𝒶 𝓅𝒾𝑒𝒸𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝐼 𝒸𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 𝓀𝑒𝑒𝓅 𝒻𝑜𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇—𝒶 𝓅𝒾𝑒𝒸𝑒 𝐼 𝒸𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 𝒶𝓁𝓌𝒶𝓎𝓈 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒, 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 𝓌𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝓈𝒽𝑒 𝒽𝒶𝓉𝑒𝓈 𝓂𝑒.

They went toe to toe, and she did not back down. Whatever Remington dished out, Eden gave it right back to him. They had some intense sexual tension, and yes, this was a slow burn, but honestly, even if this book didn’t have spice, I would have still loved it.

That’s what Kristy's writing does to you—it makes you fall head over heels in love with her characters. You will feel everything, especially with this book.

𝐼 𝒽𝑜𝓅𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝐼 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓂𝑜𝓇𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓃 𝓅𝓁𝒶𝓈𝓉𝒾𝒸 𝒸𝒽𝒶𝒾𝓇𝓈.

If anyone deserved a HEA it's Remington and Eden! 💗

Wtf was this? I’ve loved Remi’s aloof sarcastic self the first 3 books this book he was just a raging asshole. Book talked in riddles the entire time and was super repetitive. Remington kept calling her Eve and kept referring to each other as Adam and Eve? Her name wasn’t fucking Eve It really made no sense.
Eden was ? Idk she was just boring. Was she a sensitive pathetic girl? Was she a sarcastic bitch? Her personality kept flip flopping.
Plot? Don’t know her.
You have to read between the lines the entire fucking book and I wanted to DNF so many times.
Remington is seeking revenge on dude who sold him as a baby to some dude who Gypsy Rose’d him. Somehow he’d found out Eden is dudes daughter who he abandoned. Remi’s revenge was to make a sex tape with her?? And blackmail him?? But he starts to like her and they go on a road trip? They don’t even speak or act like they’re attracted to each other and then all of a sudden he’s taking her virginity.
Out of nowhere Remington goes into kidney failure?? Eden (naturally) is his match. While recovering from kidney transplant Ramsey (his mom, previous book) has congressman arrested. Huh.
Beginning of book Remington meets up with a guy on campus (yeah we’re talking about like 19 year old characters here) and we’re made to think he’s getting hooked up with a bad guy like mafia or something- turns out he’s a nephrologist 🙄 But he pays in aquarium tickets?! Make it make sense.
Maybe if book went into Remingtons history more I couldve understood better, idk it was just a mess.

I have been desperate for Remington's story since the very first book of the series, The Potter. The man is clouded in mystery and as little pieces of him were revealed as the series progressed I just knew his story was going to be nothing short of fantastic. And Kristy Marie delivered just that.

The Prodigal is the fourth and final book in the Hands of the Potters series by Kristy Marie. So much of this story is intertwined with some of the other books that while it is a complete story on it's own you really will have the best experience with this book when reading the series in order.

4.5 ⭐

Remington Jude Potter... oh.em.gee... this man and this story are layered and addicting and I devoured it in one sitting. I can't really decide what categories this book falls under, because it has hints of a few, but it's written in a way that the balance of the storyline is amazing. Remington and Eden's sarcastic personalities, the bickering banter are all so full of witt and a low key humor that it hints at a comedic side but there is also a dark, yet heartbreaking quality to their stories of trauma and revenge.

I knew Remington had some skeletons in his past, and I knew his story was going to have this darkness to it as he played the villian- but I was not at all prepared for the rollercoaster of emotions I felt toward this man, his past and the secrets he kept close to his chest. The twists throughout the story added this layer of suspense that kept me captivated from the very first page. Eden De Luca- I wasn't too sure what to make of her at first. She initially has this demure quality to her presence like she was afraid to make waves but she blossomed more into this amazing sassy character that both challenged and complemented Remington's shadows and sarcasm.

The way that Kristy built the arc to this story was perfect. Everything moves a bit slow at first- from Eden and Rem's interactions as strangers/enemies to the reluctant acceptance of each others presence to actually starting to see the potential of a relationship between them- but it doesn't feel like it drags like some other slow build stories. Little pieces of information and past are revealed a little at a time, while the tensions that build could burn the motel down between them. And when Rem and Eden started to burn they lit up like fireworks.

Every book in this series has been an exciting read but this one has just wormed its way under my skin and into my heart in a way that I can't stop reveling in it. Do not skip downloading the bonus epilogue either- it added to the perfection of this family and them all finally finding their HEA.

Maybe it is because I, too, am 19, just like the main characters but I couldn't take them seriously for most of this lmao. We're supposed to believe that Remington is this dark crime lord basically when he's just some teenage dude who's Really Angsty™ and all the descriptions of him and Eden as Adam & Eve just made it worse. Also he's such a dick and I just don't find that hot without some sweet moments.

There's a lot of build-up to the revenge plot, it all ends kinda boringly but then we got a really good plot point in the last 20% that was so so angsty and I loved it! There was a lot of Potter family feels and that was really why I continued reading this series.

Not a big fan of this one as a standalone but it's a really nice conclusion to the series.

I absolutely loved this book! Definitely my fav book of the interconnected series. I loved Remington. He was harsh, sarcastic, and didn’t care how people saw him and that’s what I loved about him. He met his match with Eve too! I can totally see myself reading this one again soon.

It was the perfect way to end a series!

I loved loved loved Remington in the previous books, I still loved Remington in this book. All of these characters are great, and so is Eden. I loved their conversations and the banter and the angst. I still feel like it was missing some feels like the previous 3 books. However, it was still a great read. This entire series is a favorite of mine!

Prodigal
ARC Review
By: Kristy Marie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Way to end the series with a volcanic eruption! I’ve been sucked into this series from the beginning & I couldn’t have asked for a better finale.

In biblical fashion, God created Adam & Eve…Eve was created from Adam…both tempted to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Can they survive knowing the truth? Is it better to believe the pretty lies or know the ruthless truth?

“Haven’t you heard, sweet Eve? In the Garden of Eden, even the purest heart was tempted by the wicked. Don’t make the same mistake she did. Trust me when I tell you, your hero is the worst kind of villain.”

Remington & Eden are Adam & Eve in this story. Both incredibly, terribly broken souls. Both carry knowledge the other does not know. Neither is complete without the other.

‘My brokenness longs to share his pain—to protect the fragility of the goodness hidden beneath our scars.’

‘But my heart knows. I’ve seen what broken looks like. I’ve called out for a savior. I’ve drowned in the pain until I couldn’t breathe.’

Welcome to the finale that needed a prodigal son to truly complete the story of the Potters. Welcome to cigarettes & mints. Welcome to plastic chairs & someone that holds your heart & your soul together in a closet. Welcome to sacrifice and forgiveness. Welcome to the Potter family unit becoming one.

You’ll love and hate Remington and his grumpy rudeness. But it’s no match for our strong sassy Eden who can banter back at him. He’s truly met his Eve.

This is some of the best banter written in the series. These two have connection and constant push and pull through the entire story. Be prepared to be wowed. Be prepared to feel the forgiveness, the sacrifice, and the love.

If you haven’t started the series, you must start with The Potter and fall in love with all of the Potter men in this series like me.

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
child abuse, assault

Just like I said in my review for The Sculptor, I definitely consider this an interconnected series that doesn’t need to be read as a whole. However, if you plan to read this one you need to at LEAST read the last book. Otherwise, you’ll be left with holes. Or details that'll just be words on a page when they were meant to carry emotions that a reader could only feel if they were attached to these characters in the way you would be after reading the rest of the series first.

I have been over protective of Rem since the moment we were introduced to him. I’ve accepted every possible crumb I could since the beginning. This was well worth the wait! I accept that what Eden and Remington have isn’t a meet cute, but it was a meet something that made me love them, and her, instantly! And I especially loved her for Remington. She never gave in to him, never allowed him to rule over her. They had a perfect push and pull, glorious banter, and sarcastic ribs that made my heart pitter-patter in delight. The sexual tension was obvious, and building, from the start. And somehow, they didn’t notice. Eden blindly gives in to him, offering assistance and understanding that he never asked for (or wanted). Eden managed to wear him down, without even trying. The moment his heart feels love, he gives her the truth, no hesitation. Because he’s no hero. He is, however, a king. And Eden helps him find his throne, and proudly sits next to him in hers. I’ve always felt just as protective of Remington as the Potters. And no one would ever be good enough for him. Except Eden, she proved us all wrong. Gosh do I love this family! I love each of them so much, so having them together is always so special. Especially after everything we’ve been through together. But I’m a mess every time I spend time with them, and this book is NO different! And here I thought the Potters couldn’t destroy my heart more. Those villains, those antiheroes Remington speaks of? That’s me, willing to burn the earth to ashes to protect this family. Chapter 17 brought on the first tears. It was an instant ugly cry. There was no cute crying done reading Remington’s story. Though, a familiar face did help bring a smile to my face!

love: 33

My Favorite Quotes:
• “Nights with me are never good. Don’t think you’ll be the exception.”
• “You’ll kneel to no man. Especially not me.”
• “Trust me when I tell you, your hero is the worst kind of villain.”
• “Never use the word f!cking around me unless you intend on doing it. I don’t like being teased.”

Absolute Perfection

Kristy Marie has delivered one heck of a story! Remington's story was my most anticipated release for this year and she surpassed ALL my expectations for this book! I honestly think this is her best work to date! (Sorry Cade & Theo.)

I first fell for Remington in The Potter, Vance and Halle's story, when he was a cocky little s**t. (He was and that was a big reason why he snagged a big piece of my heart.)

With each story in this series, I anticipated his snarkiness. Every appearance made me smile. Then, Kristy got us with that emotional bombshell in The Sculptor and I knew then that The Prodigal was going to be such a memorable read.

Heck, I can't look at a plastic chair without thinking about him anymore!

"Call me a romantic, but I'm a sucker for an underdog story - especially one who gets payback."

Eden and Remington are opposite sides of the same coin and also puzzle pieces that only connect to each other. They are opposites but also kindred spirits.

There is so much snark in this book and I freaking loved it! Remington loves getting under people's skin. He's full of dry sarcasm and it becomes hilarious when Eden starts to get under his skin because he never expected it.

Everything is not as it seems and this book takes us on a journey that for the most part is fun but there are twists and turns and a few moments where the rug is pulled out from us.

This book is such an amazing story! There wasn't a dull moment throughout.

I think one of the reasons I love Kristy Marie's stories so much is because she makes the characters relatable. There is at least one thing in each one of har stories where I can either say,  "I've done that" or "I would have said the same thing".

For me, sarcasm is a love language, so I felt right at home reading this book. The fry incident has happened too many times to count.

For anyone reading this that hasn't read this series, I HIGHLY suggest starting with The Potter. You can read this as a standalone and you will love both Remington and Eden, BUT there are certain moments that I believe will just hit way harder having read the first three books before The Prodigal.

Oh! Read the extended epilogue! I got emotional throughout the book but didn't actually cry UNTIL the bonus epilogue! They were happy tears but geesh - she still got me!

*~*~* Second Read *~*~*

It was even better the second time around. You cannot top Remington’s sarcastic ass and his determination to not fall head first in love with Eden, while he blindly falls head first in love with Eden. I love these two together so much. They’re both so perfect for each other. Remington is an alpha who actually doesn’t know he’s an alpha, I mean he knows but he doesn’t want to admit it when it comes to protecting Eden, his nemesis. And Eden, she is such a brilliantly written female character I want to scream it from the rooftops!! She’s funny, sarcastic, completely unhinged and totally coco for the boy with the black heart.

But it’s not just these two that are fab, it’s the rear of the family. They’re all as batshit crazy as each other and I lapped up every interaction they have. From the first book I was hooked on the Potter’s and I honestly don’t want to be without them!!!

Favourite Quote:
“I want to slam my head into the dashboard, hard enough that I won’t remember visiting Alabama—especially with her. ”

*~*~* First Read *~*~*

• Remington - The name Remington is of Old English origin and means "from the raven's home”. A Raven is an intelligent bird that's said to symbolize prophecy, insight, and embracing the darkness.

And oh what a dark one Remington is. He hides himself away from any type of relationship, to protect himself and the people he cares about. He also intends to fulfil his prophecy and he embraces every bit of darkness that has entered his life. His twist in his story absolutely gutted me. I was a sobbing, snotty mess.

• Room 101 - Room 101 (as described in George Orwell’s 1984) represents power and somewhere where spirits are crushed. It is used to show absolute dominance and has the power to totally ruin someone through the use of their deepest fear.

I don’t even know where to begin with this one. But 102 was so significant for so many reasons!! But my favourite one is how it has the power to ruin someone with their deepest fear, and Remington’s deepest fear? Falling in love, and making himself vulnerable.

Eden - place of pleasure and delight.

Because that is exactly what she is.

Why are these thing’s significant? Because this damn book was so clever. There was so much symbolism and parallels I had a field day.

This one was my favourite of the Potter series. I loved Remington, his sarcastic nature was to die for and Eden’s sunny disposition was both his undoing while being so darn endearing.

The storyline broke my heart. So did that first night with the closet. and the suitcase and the twist. There was so much I loved. So. Much.

I did find that the smexy time was a little tame to what I was expecting from Remington, considering his personality but it didn’t leave the book lacking in any way. I also really would have liked a bit longer with these two. I wanna see their everyday lives now!!

I’m so sad these books are over, but I need another sarcastic hero as quick as can be written Kristy Marie!!

This book was suck a roller-coaster of emotions, Remi and Eden took me on a journey of revenge and pain but also of finding yourself and the people who give you peace.

Remington has been an interesting character from the very first book so he totally deserved his own story, he had been through so much that I just wanted to read his happy ending and despite being a long journey for him, I loved that he met his match on Eden and how they both helped each other move on from their past lives and the hardness of their childhoods.

Eden was definitely perfect for Remi and his witty behavior, she always fought back his sarcasm and I loved how she was the one that was able to crack through Remi’s defenses and help him realize that he was worthy of love. Their banter throughout the book was the best, Eden always pushed Remi’s buttons but thanks to her he was able to open up about his past so she could understand him and his revenge.

The story was perfect from beginning to end, since I got my copy I couldn’t stop reading, Remi and Eden were very captivating and I loved their moments together and how Remi started changing around Eden. They both acted tough to hide the pain from their lives but being together really allowed them to work through their feelings and find comfort in each other. Eden was a part of Remi’s darkest times and despite his revenge, I loved that she never gave up on him and how she always was on his side. They went through a lot in their pasts so no one deserved a happy ending more that the two of them.

Remington was always sarcastic with his dad and uncles but I loved their interactions and their bickering and how his acting towards them was his way of showing them his love, he finally had a family that loved him and cared for him so at the end of his journey he had everything he hoped for and more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I hope you know I love you more than plastic chairs 🥹😭

If I didn’t realize before I definitely realize now that my love language is snark and sarcasm and I’m completely in love with Remington! I absolutely loved this book and am so sad this series is over! The villain deserves his win and this book gave us that and so much more!

I’ve been waiting for Remington’s story since we first meet him in The Potter and the journey we go through with him throughout this series makes this book a perfect ending. Remington is always equipped with one-liners and evasiveness to get his way but he truly meets his match when he meets Eden. Now this meeting isn’t a meet-cute its specifically designed by Remington because he has a revenge plan and Eden has a starring role. But the more time Remington spends with Eden the more she gets under his skin and for someone like him that keeps everyone at a distance she becomes his kryptonite. Eden’s life hasn’t always been easy and she never needed a prince to save her, she needed a villain to set her free and Remington was all that and more.

I seriously cannot say enough good things about this book and the entire series as whole. It really should be read in order to get the full impact, but this one might be my favorite even though I’ve loved the others too. I love Remington’s relationship with the Potters and how they get him and won’t allow him to push them away. It was great to get into his head and really understand the things he went though to have this hard shell and I’m just so happy he finally found his family and the one person that puts up with him….she may stab him but it wouldn’t be their happily ever after without it.

*ARC Review would give it a million stars if I could*

*The Hands of the Potter series is hands down a top favorite series for me. This book is my favorite of the series. I knew it would be. I’ve held Remington close to my heart since we first met him as a teen in the first book. He was the side character that we loved throughout the series. To see his story brought to life was amazing.
*Antihero at it’s finest!!! The "Dark Lord of Sarcasm" is just that, sarcastic to his core. I’ve never read a character quite like Rem. He stays true to his personality through everything. He changes for no one, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have character development. He wields his sarcasm in many different ways to show his emotions as he grows.
*The plastic chair characteristic was the first characteristic that I loved about Rem. He was sitting in a plastic chair when he met Halle, in The Potter and I was like "yep I love that kid". Without spoilers,The reason he loves those chairs made my heart burst. He also makes cigarettes look cool. I loved that detail.
*Eden, what a perfect match for him. She may have started out as a way to get his revenge but She pushed her way into his heart. She matched him sarcastic comment for sarcastic comment. Perfect couple!!! True to themselves just as much as they are to each other.
*Every moment of this story was perfect from the beginning revenge plot to the surprise twist I did NOT see coming. It takes a lot to surprise me. The twist definitely did that. Broke my heart and put it back together again. I couldn’t have asked for a better wrap up for the series and my favorite character.

I didn't think I could love Remington more and this book, his own story proved me wrong!

We have met Remington since book 1 from The Hands of the Potters Series... we know he's sarcastic, arrogant and a bit too much sometimes, but we also know he's had a troubled past that made him meet Halle in a very questioning motel. In The Prodigal by Kristy Marie, tells us everything we need to know about Remington's past that justifies him seeking for revenge and him finding Eden who is a key piece in his revenge plot. Eden has also a rough start in life, a troubled past and a fierce attitude, these two have some fun banter and a very unique relationship that will quickly escalate to an off the chart's attraction. But how will Eden react to being a pawn in Remington's revenge plan?

I loved this book so much, Remington and Eden are Unique, Sarcastic, Full of Banter and Perfect for each other. I loved seeing all The Potters together and that extended epilogue filled my heart with happiness. This will be an emotional ride, yet you'll be joined by one of the coolest couples I've read.

What to expect from The Prodigal:
Revenge Romance
Protective H
Sassy h
Road Trip

Edited...adding at the buttom my review for the audiobook. The first part is for the book I had the pleasure to read.

Narrated by: Heather Firth, Neill Thorne

Wow! I just finished the book of the story of Remington Potter and his Eden De Luca. He grumpy sarcastic prodigal son of Dr. Duke Potter. Here we now find out the backstory of Remington and the lengths he seeks to avenge the wrong that was done to his life. Stolen the happy family he could have had with his parents, the locality of the potter’s siblings towards him and the locality of one lady. He vowed not to be ensnared by a woman’s kitty cat. Thinking all the Potter men are because of their women. But, he would do anything for his biological mother. The only one… hello let’s eat crow Remington cause you met your match with Ms. Eden. Anyways, Eden is the ends to the means, but turns out she is not what he thought she would be. Turns out she is any ally, wanting to help him get his justice. But can they reach their target? They travel from the south to the west coast. What could happen? Let’s say’s sarcastic banter aka their foreplay. Video evidence, scandal averted? Please check out this entire series. Sooo much angst and emotional heartbreak in some but then pieced together at the end. These are all standalone, but the Potter Brother and their wives/ partners have short appearances in the book. Which ties it all together.

Well worth it! Highly recommend!

5 STARS IS JUST NOT ENOUGH...
I knew Kristy was going to write my favorite character when Remington was introduced in The Potter... I LOVE HIM!!

I read this book in one day and could not put it down until I was finished! I loved every word on all the pages, this book brings ALL THE FEELS!!

Remington is the character that you will love, you may hate him at first... But he will wear you down! He has such a big heart but only for the ones he lets close to him! His sarcasm and banter made me love him even more than I thought I could!

Eden is trying to make it on her own when Remington crashes into her world.. She saw something in the broken man that she could understand. She knew that giving up on him was not an option!

I am so sad that this series is over but it is such a perfect ending to the series.
I can't get over how much I loved this book and all the characters!

TOP READ 2023
TOP COUPLE EVER
TOP HERO EVER

Kristy Marie, what did you do to me? she is an expert in playing with my feelings and she made me experience a whirlwind of emotions, this book destroyed my heart and I loved every second of it, it is full of love, unexpected twists, revenge, angst, it is MAGNIFICENT!

Remington will forever be my favorite anti-hero, a sarcastic jerk with a dirty mouth and a heart of gold that will make you fall for him, he is a very complex character, his past haunts him, and has put up walls to keep people at a distance, but little by little Eden and her sass and her bubbly personality break down his walls, she is so fierce and determined, and the perfect match for Rem

I love them, their intense emotional connection gave me goosebumps, the BANTER is off the charts, the dialogues made me cry and laugh at the same time, I love the way they help each other overcome their demons and become the best version of themselves. And the unexpected twists left me in shock and turning the pages without blinking ! It is MIND-BLOWING

Heartbreaking, soul-crushing, captivating , The Prodigal is an emotional, steamy and hilarious romance that will give you all the feelings, a standing ovation for the author, her writing style is extraordinary, the way in which she combines emotion, passion and fun is BRILLIANT, if you are fan of sarcastic jerks and sassy heroines, do yourself a favor and read this book !

What to expect
• Sarcastic Anti-Hero
• Sassy Heroine
• Road Trip / One Bed
• Grumpy/Sunshine
• Parental Abuse (adoptive for Rem and birth for Eden)

If you read any of my reviews for the other books in the Hands of the Potters series, you will know that I’ve adored Remington from the moment we meet him. He’s a sarcastic asshole whose favorite pastime is irritating all three of the Potter men. Now while you can read this as a standalone, because any information you need is given to you, you should read the whole series or The Sculptor because it directly relates to Remington’s past.

It's always been clear that Remington’s past haunts him and that he’s been searching for peace for a long time, and to him, peace will come with destroying the man who ruined not only his life but also that of his parents. Eden also has a past that haunts her, but when Rem comes to her aid, she is determined to help him get revenge. Eden pushes and sasses Remington like he does to his father and uncles, which is when he realizes he’s in trouble. Rem often compares them to Adam and Eve, and I love the parallel. These are two sides of the same coin, and they help each other overcome their demons and realize that they don’t need to do things alone and that it’s okay to rely on someone.

These two have my whole heart; with their banter and a perfect mix of grumpy/sunshine, it’s hard not to fall in love with them. I laughed so much during this book but also shed some tears. I didn’t use my favorite quote because I feel that everyone deserves to experience it in the moment and not read it in a review.

I have been waiting for Remington‘s story since the very beginning of this series, and it did not disappoint. This book is very poignant, emotional and dare I say humorous. The author’s talent for inserting humor into a tense story is nothing short of perfect. If I’m being truthful, this book needed the humor to balance out the dark elements. There are many twists and turns along the way which kept me 100% engaged. While this author is known for her angsty romance and arrogant, alpha antiheroes, there is always a good balance of all the feels. I’ll be honest I did not find the angst as abundant as the suspense aspect. Frankly, I could only guess what was actually going on. And when the climax came I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t prepared for that surprise at all.

Both main characters have some horrific pasts stemming from childhood. This author does not sugarcoat situations. When you read what Remington and Eden endured you can’t help but cheer them on to a happily ever after.

I’m sorry if my review is vague. Not only will you love this story but you will appreciate all the more going in blind. And don’t bother trying to guess the outcomes, you won’t see them coming. At least I didn’t, and I pride myself on my investigative reading techniques. I’m not easily surprised.

I highly recommend this book, this series. You definitely don’t want to miss The Prodigal!

Thank you Kristy for this story. I couldn’t ask for a better series wrap up.

ARC Review

❤️The Prodigal❤️

By Kristy Marie

Rating: ⭐️5/5

Emotions: ❤️5/5 🌶4/5

Emotional and sarcastic

Remington comes straight to your heart and makes himself a home there.

A story that makes you laugh hard, cry harder and sigh in the end.

Finally we come full circle. And everything makes sense.

We get Remington’s whole story and that story will break your heart and bring the pieces together only to melt at the end.

Sarcastic Remington meets his pendant in Eden. The girl he needs to fulfill his plan, his end goal. But soon he realizes that nothing works out the way he wanted it to. Eden has no clue. About her heritage and the guy who sleeps at the motel she works at.

But when they get to know each other, involuntarily, of course, everything shifts. In a way both didn’t see coming or wanting.

”I don’t want better. I want you”.

A road trip, a forced proximity and a few harsh truths later, Remington and Eden have to make decisions. But when he hurt Eden and in that process let go of his plan, Eden finds herself fighting for the boy and his need to retaliate.

And then, reality sets in and we discover the whole deal. Suddenly everything, every word and every behavior makes sense in a way that sarcastic Remington is a boy who acts that way only to protect others and himself from a lot of pain.

What a wonderful way to end the road of the Potters. One more time the whole family reunites and let us be part of their way with each other in the truest form. How wonderful Eden fitted in, how beautiful to see a few real moments between Remington and Duke.

“ I hope you know I love you more than plastic chairs”.

I can truly say that this conclusion to the Potter series will stay forever in my mind.

This man. This man right here was beyond anything I could have anticipated. Kristy blew me away with this book, bringing to life another story filled with her signature prose and undeniable sense of humor like only she can. This is not just a story about revenge, it’s a story about forgiveness, unyielding loyalty, acceptance, sacrifice and love. This book will rip you apart while simultaneously making you laugh. The emotional depths that Kristy reached within these pages will shred you little by little, but she’ll also heal you in ways that your soul didn’t even know it needed.

Remington couldn’t have been more perfect. His next level sarcasm and dry delivery will keep you utterly entertained throughout. And the banter between him and Eden is brilliant he couldn’t’ have found a more perfect person for him then her. She gives as good as she gets never letting Remington get away with anything. And the bond and depth of feelings that develop between them is utterly authentic, never feeling forced or contrived. They just fit together with an ease that felt so right and so real.

I knew I was going to love Remington’s book I just wasn’t prepared for how much I loved this book. Kristy has created a love story built around revenge but survived through love. Everything about this story will hold you captivated from start to finish. Kristy continues to grow with each and every word that she writes, and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next. Because Remington is beyond perfection and the type of love story that will withstand time.
