The Highly Anticipated Follow-up to Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever!

Ex•it Strat•e•gy (noun) 1. A preplanned means of extricating oneself from a situation that is likely to become difficult or unpleasant. 2. The method by which a venture capitalist or business owner intends to get out of an investment that he or she has made in the past.

Will Keisha and Tristan exercise their elaborate EXIT STRATEGY and end their unorthodox arrangement?

Assailed by demons she thought she had conquered, Keisha Beale has uttered the words to end her tumultuous relationship with Tristan White. Separated, they grapple for a time with their personal demons. However, when their lives apart become unbearable, a credible threat brings them back together prematurely.

As they seek to discover who is responsible for the threats, several seemingly unrelated incidents throw them into a tailspin. Will Keisha’s youthful indiscretions or Tristan’s un-reconciled feelings for a former sub derail their tenuous arrangement?

In the meantime, trouble in Nathan and Jada’s paradise send dramatic ripples that hint of future difficulties in the idyllic pairing.

Nothing Ventured…

Tristan uses his vast wealth and connections to correct a gross miscarriage of justice, while Keisha makes herself utterly vulnerable to Tristan and fears he has chosen to exercise his own exit strategy.

…Nothing Gained!

Will this be the end of the indecent arrangement that became a fairy tale? Or will Keisha and Tristan reveal the trauma from their pasts so they may heal and completely embrace their relationship?

Sensual, suspenseful, and still infused with the riotous levity of Triple-G and Fairy Hoochie Mama, the Ghetto Girl Romance Quadrilogy departs from full parody with a distinctive take on love, loyalty, sacrifice, redemption, and acceptance.

It wasn't as awesome as the first book but it was still a really good story. It was kind of sad how much of the book these two spent apart. But when they were together it was super-smokin-hot!!! I am looking forward to book 3 and getting Jada and Nate's story!

Let me be upfront, I loved Jungle Fever and was chomping at the bit for Exit Strategy. I just knew it was going to be an excellent continuation of the series. So imagine my surprise when I begin to read Exit Strategy and am completely underwhelmed. Geez louise, WHAT HAPPENED?!?! I'm confused as to how book 1 was so interesting and compelling, and Exit Strategy was so, lackluster. I'm going to lay out all my beefs with this particular book in a list.

1. Editing and POV. The typos were manageable but a bit distracting. More importantly an editor would have surely pointed out that Keisha’s part of the book was all told from 1st person and Tristan’s was all in 3rd person. I cringed literally every time I had to read Tristan’s part. And I felt the author’s more authentic writing was saved for Keisha which left me unable to connect to Tristan at all. Maybe some people were able to overlook this style of writing, but I couldn't.

2. 3 weeks apart?! All in all, after such a dramatic exit and safe-wording at the conclusion of ‘Jungle Fever,’ Keisha only manages to stay apart from Tristan for 3 weeks? And the first time they meet in person, she hops in to bed with him to pursue the same damaging sexual relationship she ran from? WHAT?! Mind blown. Now I could understand this if she weren't suffering from dangerous psychological triggers or had a deep discussion with Tristan about the cause of her panic attacks. But she didn't. Instead she lacked any thought to her own self-preservation.

3. Triggers. The author doesn’t really include Keisha tackling her triggers until about the 65% point of the book. As mentioned previously, to completely end a relationship in such a dramatic fashion would imply that the cause behind the triggers were rather important. Clearly not. Keisha is going to therapy but not much is gleaned since the sessions aren’t described in the book. Keisha and Tristan eventually both come clean about their psychological issues… in the LAST QUARTER of the book. Sorry, not realistic at all. And if Tristan were a true experienced Dom he would’ve made the disclosure of her anxiety mandatory. Instead, he selfishly pursues the same dominant/submissive relationship regardless of Keisha’s mental stability. Completely gave BD/SM a bad wrap. Alas, this is a book so I guess I can’t expect too much realism.

4. Tristan. Tristan held all the cards. Every single one. And as much as I like an alpha male, I like authenticity even more. He was pushing Keisha to come back to him without willing to work on himself too. He wanted Keisha to submit to him with out gaining her trust. And the shift from a simple BD/SM and professional relationship, to “I love Tristan” without Tristan realizing he loved Keisha back? I couldn’t make my brain wrap around it. In the first book, Tristan oozed sex appeal and dominance. This time around, he was annoying and childish because of all the mixed signals he gave. Also, Tristan’s need to be dominant with Keisha took priority over his career, Keisha’s career, and Keisha’s social life. Definitely did not seem healthy.

5. Keisha. Keisha's professional and social demeanor simply did not match up to her bedroom submissive persona. She completely changed from the chick I grew to love in book 1. In Exit Strategy she had a backbone made of spaghetti and lacked any independence to speak of. Yes, she was vulnerable but the character created in Jungle Fever would’ve managed to keep her professionalism in check and served Tristan up some fierce words for his behavior. I guess she had a lobotomy in the 3 weeks away from Tristan because homegirl was NOT the same in Exit Strategy. She gets mad for 2 seconds and then is back to “Yes, sir.”

6. Keisha and Tristan’s BD/SM relationship. The BD/SM relationship is GREAT… in the bedroom. However, this was an all-encompassing BD/SM relationship that took place basically whenever Keisha was in Tristan’s presence. She was to be a docile chick with her head always bowed and accepting of Tristan’s dominance…all the time. I don’t like that at all. That’s psychological manipulation and it grew difficult for me to see how this was a loving relationship. At one point Keisha was scared to vocally state her feelings about a professional matter because Tristan might punish her in the bedroom. What does that sound like to you? Like I said, I’m all for ‘yes, sir’ in the boudoir but stripping a once fierce and independent Keisha to a subservient version of herself, no bueno. And also, to move from BD/SM relationship to love without any regular dates or truly building a foundation was highly suspect.

7. Blake's crime. Ok, Blake’s crime was foul. He deserved to go to court. However, I didn’t see what all the emotional turmoil was about. He drugged Keisha and didn’t get but 2 steps away in his ill begotten plan to kidnap her. And Keisha is traumatized? And Tristan is spending exorbitant time and energy for the best attorney when nothing really happened? This particular plot line could have been wrapped up easy and the author could’ve spent more time focusing on the romance between the main characters.

8. The Aimee/Sara storyline. The book blurb made it seem that there a previous sub was about to start living in Tristan’s home. I was ready for drama. Turns out Aimee is bed-ridden for the rest of her life. That zapped all the drama right out of this wannabe love triangle. The entire stalker and threatening letters aspect of the book was far fetched. Sara had nothing better than to stalk Tristan and his friends…because she was shunned as a submissive? Not buying it. The whole ‘Aimee-moving-in’ story-line seemed unnecessary.

9. Jada and Nathan. Again, the book blurb made it seem like Jada and Nathan were facing some serious challenges. Womp womp. There was 1 super small incident that was easily explained away. Jada seems more of the fierce woman I wanted Keisha to be. Midway through the book, I was over the Keisha/Tristan love story and more interested in Jada and Nathan.

The long and short of it, this book didn’t feel like a cohesive novel. The writing style and tone completely changed in this book and I found myself bored and disconnected. I was very disappointed, since I waited so long for this book to come out. It’s still possible that I’ll read about Jada and Nathan.

4 Stars / 5 Steam Fans

This is the conclusion to Keisha and Tristan's journey to their love story which stared off very Fifty Shades-esques; however, it did end up taking a few twists and turns that were different. I enjoyed the suspenseful differences and the more in depth BDSM scenes. I like that the family dynamic was very different and the urban feel that was injected into this duology was not so over the top that it was stereotypical and annoying. There were still a few things that I didn't enjoy but overall once again this conclusion was addictive, keeping me engaged until the very end. It also leaves me wanting the second half to the four book series which is supposed to tell the story of Tristan's twin brother Nate and Jada's journey to their relationship.

This book was read for #romancegenreathon.

This specific video book review will be included in the February 2019 wrap-up.

Have you ever read a book that makes you want to do a happy dance? Well, 'Exit Strategy' did that for me.

This story picks right up where 'Jungle Fever' left off. Keshia almost gave me a heart attack at the end of the last book. I was so hurt that she safe worded out of the relationship. I felt as bad for her as I did Tristan. The two of them needed to get their act together.

I didn't like the re-introduction of Sara, Tristan's former sub. She made my skin crawl. When he let her touch him in the club, I was too through with him. I also wasn't feeling Carmelo with his slick talking self.

Things get a little scary after they get back together when Tristan received a death threat specifically naming Keshia as a target. Turmoil and mayhem ensue until finally they get their HEA!!! Insert happy dance.

I'm sorry to write but this one was certainly not worth the wait. The first book was a witty and exciting glimpse into the world of BDSM, while this one focused on our couple more apart than together. The whole stalker and sting operation was the main focus of the story and I felt like I was reading a mystery novel instead of a satire with a BDSM backdrop. I just didn't buy the whole Tristan keeping Keisha in the dark during the sting; really what was the point? They should have been having clandestine meetings in the grotto the whole time parting in the scenes that made book one such a hit.

Note to the author: revisit what made book one so good, and don't make us wait another year for book 3 because I'll surely be disinterested by then.

That was a lot of fun and a solid turn. In book 2, Lewis moves a bit further away from the satirical approach to 50 Shades and gives Tristan and Keisha their HEA.

Both the protagonists are a little less "messed up" than in "50" and they seem to know themselves a bit better. This allows for a neat resolution to their 'forced' separation.

There was less manufactured drama and more circumstantial forces playing a hand in the conflict in this story. Something I appreciate as the 'if only they had a conversation about it' drama that can be put into play in these stories is often frustrating as a reader.

An enjoyable and entertaining read. I've read a lot of these "if you're a fan of 50 Shades" type stories and this one is pretty solid.

OMG well worth the wait. L.V put her foot in this book, I'm in luv with the White brothers. I just knew it was more to Tristan then just being a Dom, and being in strong like with Keshia. Now 3G and FHM are the bomb, they will have you rolling, and buying Keshia a hugable jacket too lol. I pulled a all nighter reading this book and it was worth it. This was a emotional roller coaster ride, but would ride or read it again. Just that good, now I hope Nate and Jada get a story so we can see their love affair pan out. Maybe 3G and FHM will pop up, now and then lol. Must read!

Like many people who've reviewed this one, it wasn't as good as the first. I liked that it tied up basically all the loose ends from the first (and the new ones in the second) but other than that, the writing was haphazard and sloppy in some places, the chemistry wasn't as strong, and the dialogue was cringe-worthy in that it was very unrealistic. If it was cleaned up I would have given it a higher review.

Such A Good Read!

This book was a great read. I loved the quirks and the funny moments from the character. Sometimes when your writing about an alpha male the author makes the main female character not a strong character and I loved how this author did not. Keisha’s character really stood out to me because she stood her ground and let Tristan know about himself and that’s what I loved the most this series.

Both books were written exceptionally well. I loved how the author ended the book the way she did. I hope you guys pick up this book great read.

Happy Reading!

Really a 4.5.

Omg my brain has to decompress. I LOVED this book so bad. Ms. Lewis I'm a fan of you and your work. Now I'm sending u a tweet. Lol

Full review to come!!!

WARNING CAN CONTAIN SPOILERS

My Review:

So it's been a few days since I have finished Exit Strategy by Ms. Lewis. I said I needed a few days so my brain could decompress...it's been a few days and I have to say it's still trying to gather cohesive thoughts to even have this review make some type of sense. What the hell did I just read?? Ms. Lewis' ONCE AGAIN you captivated me with your characters, wit and story and just didn't want to let me loose. Like my review for "Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever" I'm breaking down my likes and dislikes of the book. It's just easier for me with this one.

What I liked:

Story- The threat of someone trying to do harm to Tristan, his family and Keisha was a good angle. You know there had a to be a level of craziness and mystery in this one. It was over the top and I liked it. The different suspects that it could of been and who it actually turned out to be just threw me for a loop. Wasn't expecting that at all. This book became its own story with no help from Fifty Shades. What I also like was you had Tristan to come to grips with what was holding him back from taking his and Keisha relationship to the series front. To see him grappling with things was humbling. Fifty Shades, who?

Mama Beale- Supporting role at its finest. Mother of Keisha, she just has to be one of my favorite characters. She is a tough no nonsense kind of a woman. The way she able to put not only Keisha, but hard ass Tristan in his place floored me. I honestly didn't think she would take to Tristan like she did, but she truly surprised me. I loved her character. Ms. Lewis please make sure Mama Beale is in your next books of the series! Thank you.

Kinkiness/Sex- Through the roof with this one. I thought it was a lot better than the first. There were parts where my face was literally becoming red. Thank God I was reading this book at home.

Keisha and Tristan- Boy did these two grow from the first book. Even though they were separated for only a few weeks. They started, even though Keisha knew way before, that there was more to them than just the kinkiness of their relationship. Something real was happening between them. They needed to let the fear of their traumatic past go and just be together. I swear I yelling at my Kindle. Enough with the nonsense just let this two be.

What I disliked:

Jada- Her character was so damn ghetto that it was sad. I felt when she "went there" I was watching "Love and Hip Hop" or "Basketball Wives". She needs to tone her rachetness down a few levels. To think they branded Keisha as the ghetto girl. Please, Keisha is far from ghetto. All I can say is Jada, relax. No need to get all crazy and up in everyone's face. I hope she grows up in the next book.

Tristan- I know, I know. You are probably wondering how I have Tristan on both list. Well what bothered me throughout the book was that the author decided to include Tristan's POV. That didn't bother me. I love alternating point of views in a book. What bothered me was that Tristan's POV was told through the narrators eyes. I'm sorry, but I just wasn't going for it. If you are going to do a man's POV do it from his voice. His words. His mind. After 2 books, I still don't feel completely connected to Tristan. Do I love Tristan. Absofreakinglutely. But I feel I would of even been more connected to Tristan if I just would of heard him through his own words.

Oh, I just adored this book to pieces. That ending had my heart just beating like crazy. I freaking love these two together. Nate and Jada you guys are up next! Take notes. I have become such a fan of this series. Ms. Lewis you have me in a serious book hangover. When are we getting book 3?? Next week maybe? Out of 5. I'm giving this one 4.5. Job well done.

Exit Strategy is the second book in The Ghetto Girl Quadrilogy. I did not have the pleasure of reading book one but was able to pick this one up and read without feeling terribly lost.

From the blurb:

I love L.V. Lewis’ writing. I was sucked in from page one, and fully enjoyed the roller coaster ride. The book was hilarious, drama filled, sexy, and well-written and edited. Some erotica stories feel like an endless parade of sex scenes strung together by inane, empty plot filler. Not the case here. Don’t get me wrong—the sex scenes were hot, but I was thoroughly involved in the story as well. I adore humor, and there was plenty of it. Keisha’s inner voices are a special treat. Unnecessary scenes were excluded, but it was done very smoothly and never felt as though the story jumped the tracks.

I was a bit perturbed by the POV (point of view) switching. I’m okay with hearing from more than one character; however, Keisha’s portion was written in first person present tense, and Tristan’s portion was in third person present tense. It threw me for a while, although I did eventually acclimate. I’d love to pick the author’s brain and find out why she wrote it that way. Personally, I would have preferred first or third but not both.

No spoilers, but some of the events in the story seemed a bit predictable and/or overblown. I was hoping for more drama from a certain “threat.” There was so much potential there, but it fell a little bit flat for me.

Ms. Lewis’ created a cast of three dimensional characters that feel like friends—or enemies. I really cared about what was happening in their lives and had a hard time putting this one down to do other things. Despite the minor misgivings (POV and the threat that ended too soon), I loved Exit Strategy and look forward to future offerings from L.V. Lewis. As I said, I didn’t read the first book, but this one didn’t feel very parody-like; the author has put her own unique stamp on the story—and it really works. Keep your eye on L.V. Lewis.

Review: I was given a copy of Exit Strategy from Love Romance books for an honest review. I thought this book was interesting and captivating. There was a lot that happened in this book. It continued off of the first book Fifty shades of Jungle Fever. There were something’s that I was like oh my gosh and others I was like where did this come from? Tristan and Keisha got to show us even more of who they are and what they are willing and not willing to do. L.V. shows us how Tristan became the man that he is. I liked the rollercoaster ride of where Keisha is going in her life. I can’t wait for the next book. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars!

Spoiler Ahead This was the follow up book to Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever. This was a really good book after Keisha safeworded in the last book and left Tristan because she had a panic attack and refused to tell him about her past. Someone is sending Tristan begins getting threating letters telling him that his loved ones and Keisha are in danger he has a panic attack. Keisha is dealing with Byron's trial and the fact that he has topless pictures of her and the fact that he abused her when they were together. I really liked Jada and Nate relationship and how Jada was their for Keisha when the trial didn't go her way. Tristan can be very dangerous with all the money he has. Tristan moved his former sub in the apartment under his to protect her because he felt guilty about her accident although it wasn't his fault and he is also dealing with another one of his ex subs who talked crap about Keisha. After publicly breaking up with her for her own safety to find the person who is sending the letters both of them are not taking it well and Keisha finds a lump in her breast Tristan goes off. The sex scenes in this book were good each one of the MC have problems with the past. I also loved Keisha's mother and how she spoke up and went to Tristan for the truth about why he broke up with her and how Jada attacked him. This was a really good book it was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling like the first book. I am looking forward to reading the next book about Jada and Nathan.

Exit Strategy the sequel to Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever is a unique departure from the first book. In some ways I liked this second book more because of that change. Ms. Lewis takes some big steps in a wholly different direction in the way she structures this book and how she writes it. I got the distinct impression that Exit Strategy was more about the author's own vision for her characters than it was a parody of another's. Ms. Lewis' Exit Strategy if you will from the mantle of 50 Shades of Grey. In doing that I felt like I saw her writing style clearer and I liked it a lot.

The most welcome change for me was giving us an opportunity to get both Keisha and Tristan's point of view in the story. Tristan felt less one dimensional to me in this book because I could hear his voice and see his flaws through his own eyes. We also got to see even more of the secondary characters in this book. Many of them are rich, vibrant and fun but best of all they don't make you draw parallels to the Grey Trilogy.

There are some endings in this book I won't share so I don't spoil it for others but I will say I thought they were necessary and welcome. How the mysterious loose ends of the book are tied up sometimes seemed rushed and wildly incredible to me but I have never been one who expected fiction to be completely realistic.

Ma. Lewis strikes me as a brave and bold writer who has a wicked sense of humor and a lot more stories to tell. I look forward to reading them.

This book starts off right where the first one stopped- Keisha has just safeworded, which means their arrangement is over. In the past, Tristan would just let things ride, but he can't seem to shake Keisha. She's the first sub he wants "more" with, even though he isn't sure what his "more" would entail. Keisha is also a mess, she wants her HEA with Tristan, but she knows he isn't capable of giving that to her. After weeks of torment, they get back together, but a new man on the scene makes Tristan re-think what's most important to him. When Keisha's life is threatened, Tristan will stop at nothing to catch who's behind the threat to Keisha, even if it means losing her for good. I enjoyed the twists and the characters were fun, especially Keisha's best friend, Jada. I would have liked to see Keisha and Tristan work through their demons a little more at the end and and epilogue to see how their relationship turned out would have been cool too.

This is the second book in the (The Ghetto Girl Romance) and its a must read. You will need to read book one first its called Fifty Shades/Jungle Fever also a great read.[ASIN:B009ZL7DJQ Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever (The Ghetto Girl Romance Quadrilogy)]] This sets the story up and a very enjoyable read!

This series is full of laughter, suspense, drama all the elements that makes for excellent reading. The author draws you into the story and even thou the story is around Doms/subs there is so much more to this story than that.

Definitely worth the time and money to read. I fell in love with Keisha and Tristan. Excellent read! I am looking forward to Nathan/Jada's story!

First I have to say that I absolutely loved Exit Strategy!!!! Exit Strategy opens up where Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever which is the first book left off. Keisha is so undecided about this BDSM lifestyle she is in with Tristan because of the feelings she has for him. Tristan doesn’t want to admit to having any feelings but he soon realizes and admits to his feelings for Keisha. They have to deal with some issues from their past if they want to move forward. I can say that this was definitely worth the wait and I cannot wait to see what is going to happen with Nate and Jada.

I really enjoy the first book of the series but I truly think the second book is in a class of it's own. I say this because I know some readers wanted to compare the first book to Fifty Shades and judge it based on the title but let me just say THERE IS NO COMPARING EXIT STRATEGY!!! This book was awesome from the very first sentence to the very last! Excellent Job L V and I look forward to the next installment!!

I've read some of the other reviews and I liked this story just as much as the 1st book inthe series. Although it is not quite written in the same tone as the 1st book in the series. This time around, I found the heroine to be a little less stronger and sassy than the last book. However, I am still looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I only hope it does not take an entire year before it's released.

I read book one and I liked the characters it completed a series but left you knowing that Tristen's brother and Keisha's best friend and rommie have a book coming. It had suspense, action and some mystery. In addition, Keisha's hoochie mama and three G make apperances that are really hilarious..I think you will enjoy

Awww no more Triple-G and Fairy Hoochie Mama! LoL! Im glas that Keisha doesn't need them anymore. Great end to their story. I can't wait to hear what will happen with Jada and Nathan! That can't be it?!

Good follow up book. Only thing I really didn't like was the ending was a little rushed.

I wish there wasn't this long of a gap btwn reading book 1 and book 2. I've been struggling to remember some details

I'm annoyed that Tristan is telling Aimee so much private stuff about Keisha. He's practically implying that he cares for her more than Keisha - you're the closest I've come to that when Aimee hints that he's in love with Keisha. All while for all he knows Keisha is ignorant of Aimee's existence or her new digs.

Overall i thought this was a OK story and good follow up to book 1
