5 Stars!!

This was easily my favorite novel by this author to date. Dark, raw, gritty, sensual, 'Dishonorable' is so gripping and fantastically written. I was immersed in this story from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down for one minute. Natasha Knight is a talented author, but I truly think she outdid herself with this mind blowing read. Filled with suspense, intrigue, passion and steam, Natasha’s latest release will keep you at the edge of your seat the entire time. It will captivate you from beginning until the end with a well-developed revenge plot, multi-layered characters and an intensity that will make you devour this story in one sitting.

“I should hate him. Fear him. And I did fear him, but there was something else, a pull too powerful to ignore.”

Sophia Guardia’s life changes irrevocably when her grandfather announces that she will have to marry Raphael Amado when she turns eighteen. The reason? To repay one of his debts. Raised by her grandfather after her parents died, Sophia never felt his love or care. Threatened by the old man, in order to protect her younger sister, Sophia is willing to do anything he tells her to do, even marry a strange man. She will be married to Raphael for three years, until she turns twenty-one and receives her inheritance that will go to Raphael.

“I would own her. I would know her pleasure. Her pain. I would possess every inch of her.”

Raphael Amado doesn’t hate Sophia, but he for sure hates the Guardia name. He knows Sophia is just collateral damage in his plans, but he doesn’t care. One way or another, he will get his revenge. Raphael had spent the last six months behind bars because he had killed his father. For years, he had been abused physically and emotionally by the one who was supposed to care for him, so he’s more than scarred inside and out. He’s filled with rage and hate and he’s determined to get his vengeance and he’s willing to use Sophia for that. She is just a pawn and he’ll do anything to accomplish what he wants.

“Being married to me, Sofia, you will always have the thorns, only there is no rose.”

'Dishonorable' is incredibly well written. It’s filled with suspense, mystery, action and steam and held me at the edge of my seat the entire time. I absolutely loved all the intensity and grittiness. The story moves at a steady pace, which I enjoyed, and the plot is well-developed with some interesting twists and turns. While the book wasn’t exactly as dark as I had expected, I really loved every single thing about it.

Sophia and Raphael are fantastically written characters. I loved Raphael's portrayal. He’s cocky, arrogant and a real a$$hole at times, yet a very intriguing and charismatic character. Raphael is tortured and dangerous, but as the plot thickens, we get to see another side of him. While he’s dark and twisted, Sophia is light and pure and brings out another part of him. He’s sweet, caring and protective with her and I have to say that I totally loved his possessiveness. His vulnerability and sensitivity made me enjoy his character even more and reading about his tragic past made me sympathize with him.

“You want me to touch you, he whispered in my ear.

Don’t you?

When his lips closed around my earlobe, I sucked in a breath. It was like the sensation shot right through me. Shot down to my core, awakening something else. Something he seemed to do just by being around me.”

Natasha did a wonderful job with Sophia’s character. You will root for her from the beginning and you will be amazed by her strength and fierceness. She’s sweet, caring and incredibly loyal towards her younger sister. Sure, she is naïve, like any another eighteen year old young woman might be, but she’s endearing and you can't help but feel for her. I love her selflessness and how gentle she is with Raphael. She is everything Raphael needs in his life and I love the fact that she accepts him exactly how he is - tortured and dark.

Sophia and Raphael’s relationship is full of twists and turns and despite the fact they are so different from one another, they complement each other perfectly. The chemistry between these two characters is off the charts and the sex scenes hot as hell and so full of passion. I loved the intensity between them, the sexual tension between them, how good they are for each other.

“My lips parted, and I licked them. Raphael pushed me against the wall, his mouth crushing mine in a kiss so intense, so full of everything, it hurt, it seared. It was as if he were leaving his mark. Claiming me.”

All in all, 'Dishonorable' is a dark and twisted story, with a terrific revenge plot and two interesting, well developed main characters. It certainly left me wanting more and I am hoping to read about certain supporting characters in the near future.

After reading the blurb for 'Dishonorable', I was sure that this would be a dark, twisted and disturbing story. In other words, I thought that this would be just what I needed to satiate my thirst for depravity. Unfortunately, this book didn't deliver on that front for me. It was the type of story that plays with the idea of darkness, without really ever crossing the line into truly "dark" territory. Don't get me wrong, it was great. It just wasn't what I thought I was going to get.

The heroine, Sofia Guardia, is essentially forced into marriage with Raphael Amado. Her grandfather wronged him in some terrible way and Raphael has demanded Sofia as repayment. Sounds twisted, right? Well...kind of.

While Raphael's intentions were certainly bad, he wasn't the monster that I had imagined - hoped for - in my depraved mind. You see, he was pretty much after her inheritance and not necessarily her. For many readers, I'm sure this will be a positive turn of events. However, it was pretty disappointing.

Of course, in time, Sofia and Raphael's relationship grows more intimate. From the start, the chemistry between the two is pretty intense. Their initial interactions are heated, to say the least. However, they soon reach a middle ground. Eventually, flirtation becomes more.

Although I didn't find the dark read that I was craving, I couldn't deny the appeal of this story. Raphael was such a damaged hero and he grew on me. While Sofia might have been young, I found her to be admirable and mature for her age. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with the idea of this couple.

The supporting characters were well-crafted and interesting. They breathed life into the story, while not stealing the spotlight. Raphael's brother, proved to be especially endearing to me.

This book had a little of everything. It had romance, without being syrupy. It had plenty of danger and an aura of darkness, even if it never really turned "dark". There was a feeling of impending doom that seemed to lurk in the background for most of the book, serving to keep readers on edge.

Overall, this was a great story. Despite the fact that it wasn't the dark romance that I had anticipated, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I love an a$$hole that ends up being redeemable. The worse they are, the more I love them. Raphael certainly didn't disappoint in that regard.

Are you ready to be shocked? This is my very first time reading a book by Natasha Knight. I know! I know! I have missed out on some amazing books, but don’t worry, I won’t miss another one! Before I was even half way through Dishonorable, I was already cursing myself for my obvious lack of good decision making ability up until this point.

After Sophia and Lina Guardia’s parents died, they were taken in by their grandfather. Sophia always felt that while he was providing for them both, he clearly favored her sister. The day he tells Sophia that she has to marry Raphael Amado when she turns eighteen to repay one of his debts, it becomes pretty apparent that she is correct on her assumption. Raphael will stay married to her for three years until she is old enough to receive her inheritance. The inheritance will, of course, go to Raphael at that time, and she will be free to leave the marriage. When she protests, her grandfather implies that if she doesn’t go along with it, the burden will fall on her sister. Sophia loves Lina more than life, so she reluctantly accepts her fate.

Raphael was recently released from prison for the murder of his own father. Since this man will basically own her for the next three years, Sophia is more than a little nervous about her impending nuptials. Will it be a marriage in name only? What exactly does Raphael expect from her? Will he force her to have sex with him on their wedding night? What happens when you promise to love, honor, and obey the scariest man you have ever met?

 photo PicsArt_03-16-02.53.47_zpszg7azcnu.png

As is so often the case, the characters were what really made this story for me. I especially appreciate when two love interests seem to be such opposites, but wind up complementing each other perfectly. Sophia is naïve, loyal, caring, and selfless, and that is exactly what makes her a perfect fit for our broken alpha hero. Raphael needs someone that will stand by him through his dark moments and not shy away from him when he is breaking down, someone that will withhold judgement and recognize the pain behind his anger, and someone that recognizes when he needs to be taken care of even when he resists it. Sophia does all that for him and more. Raphael has a dark side, but Sophia brings out a different part of him. The side that is sweet, loving, and protective. Now, don’t think that the relationship is only beneficial to him, because it’s not. Raphael makes Sophia feel wanted, special, and loved. He goes out of his way to do things that will make her happy and keep her safe. You can feel the raw, conflicting, and powerful emotions pouring out of Raphael and Sophia throughout the entirety of the story. It made it so easy to feel their connection, root for them, and believe in their love.

 photo PicsArt_03-16-02.54.24_zpsyxrszyrt.png

Truth be told, I expected Dishonorable to be a much darker story than what it actually is. Thankfully, it’s so good that I was able to get over that pretty quickly. The writing is spectacular, the story is gritty and intense, and the characters are complex. The sex scenes are delicious; however, I didn’t appreciate the altar sex. I know some people get off on that kind of thing, but I am not one of them. Regardless, I enjoyed the hell out of this story, and I’m hoping that we will get to see these characters again if Lina and Damon get their own book. Bottom line, if this sounds remotely intriguing to you, go ahead and give it a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed!

Let me tell you that I read the first half of the book with a little bit of hope that I might like it after a certain point and I waited patiently until 50%... Nope, it just got worse...

And after this scene, I am dropping it. I don't want to see their happy end anymore!

Him spanking her ass for punishment purposes
her liking it, though
him starting to f*ck her to punish again and stopping doing that when he saw she liked it
him forcing it into her mouth afterwards
him telling her to swallow when he comes
him telling her to lick the "two drops of cum" on the floor, which she couldn't swallow
her refusing and then slapping him
him squeezing her throat and hurting her, angry with her disobedience...

Whatever his demons are, I don't give it a f*ck, I am sorry. I don't enjoy reading about this man and his innocent victim. I don't enjoy reading about a man humiliating & hurting a woman if he is the damn hero of the book! I would never have started it if I had known...

We will most probably slowly witness how he accepts the fact that he loves her and lets go of his will for revenge from her family. I just don't want to read how she submits him until then. I am not interested in their "happy end." I don't wanna know...

It is not even BDSM, it is just him being a disgusting as*hole and her being the naive and stupid girl who tries to see the good in him. He is also volatile. One day, he treats her well, seems to care about her, makes love to her and another day, he just wants to hurt her, wanting her to fear him, or sometimes he just humiliates her ... And his dirty talk is the worst ever - so so disgusting!!!

Nope, not my type of hero! Not even an anti-hero! Just an as*!

I usually insert the best quotations in a book in my reviews but in this case, I can't do it as there is none for me but I can include the most disgusting one in my opinion, which I caught while scanning the pages towards the end... Well, apart from the event above, which would be a lengthy excerpt if I copy-pasted it all, I have found my second favorite of the disgusting dialogues in the book:

He grabbed hold of my hair and dragged me down to my knees. “On your knees, Sofia. Suck my cock. Fucking worship it if you want it inside you again.”

You've got to be kidding!! Is this supposed to be romantic or hot, or what?

P.S. The writing is mediocre and it is dual point of view. No cheating...

Amendment as of 20.04.2017

Let me make it clear that I am not a reader of BDSM novels (which includes bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, sadism & masochism).

I hate the concept of pain in sex, actually ... but if it is done with mutual acceptance, who am I to interfere?

I saw that this book was a "dark erotic romance", but still the blurb intrigued me and I wanted to try it, not knowing what level of darkness it included. I really believed I would understand and empathize with the hero in it but he was certainly not one I would like - ever!

Me hating it doesn’t have any relation with the book being written badly, it is only related to my actual dislike about the kind of relationship described in it. In such cases, me disliking the relationship in a book equals to me disliking the book, that’s all.

With all my respect to the fans of BDSM, I must say that most victims/witnesses of domestic violence tend to feel annoyed when a man hurts a woman physically, leaves her at his mercy or humiliates her whether in real life or in fiction. It is that simple - there is no grey area for us, it is black or white.

That is why, I can never take the concept lightly or regard it as a means of pleasure. I am not doing it to be bitchy or something else, I just can’t.

Therefore, do ignore my review if you have no problems with the above issues in your books.

Raphael Amado had only one thing on his mind when he entered the Guardia family home – restitution. A long awaited debt to claim, for the loss his own family endured cause of them. And to fully claim the means a collateral damage must come through Sofia Guardia.

In an instant Sofia's life has changed as suddenly she was bonded to a man who hated the very name she carried BUT the name also carried a weight of inheritance that is due to him.
I no longer belonged to myself. My life had been traded, exchanged. And I belonged to him now.

This…transaction, it wasn't about me. It was between Raphael Amado and my grandfather. I was collateral damage.

With the beginning of her new life in Tuscany, Italy. She slowly begins to reveal the hardened layers of the man she was wed to. Inspite the circumstances, she comes to see beyond his darkness and the past that haunts him. Raphael is broken and tortured soul with deep scars from his past and the only way to deal is to carry the dark around him always weighing the scales of breaking the line…
Shattering. Damaged beyond repair. That was me. That was what I was. A wrecked monster. A killer. A hateful, vengeful beast.

BUT what he didn't anticipate is for Sofia's light to push through him…
If you let the past go, maybe it will let you go.

They both come from hate to love relations not even being aware of the very process, the undulated passion and carnal cravings they satiated in each other only deepen the fight against the inner demons, debts of the past, enemies, lies, treachery, greed, secrets and betrayal.

Sophia and Raphael will slowly learn about the true ways of belonging beyond the blood ties, there will have to be a great loss only to make grounds for the greater gain, they never hoped or bargained for.

Natasha Knight always turns the heat on when she presents the passion and physical chemistry beyond any measure , and Raphael and Sophia, have that very connection lingering on the verge from hate to love, desperation to lust, need and desire…this was a romance drama of two people finding more than they ever thought possible in not so admirable circumstances. Even though I did expect a little bit more suspensful action, it didn't diminish the thriving notion of following the characters' path towards their own HEA.

OMG!! When I started this for the life of me I couldn't put it down GOD I LOVED the SHIT out of this BOOK!! The beginning is *gulps*racing through my mind that thought like a broken record * what the fuck is going on*, then the next chapter or so the *feels* start coming at you *full throttle*, and it just escalated more as I progressed further into this book.

DISHONORABLE: This is Sofia’s and Raphael’s story, spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ A haunting, gritty, raw tale.

In the ‘PROLOGUE 2016’ we meet an impressionable eighteen year old Sofia as she’s about to be married to Raphael Amado her unchosen husband to be, a monster hiding beneath the most beautiful mask a non consensual contract between her Grandfather and Raphael.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Her fate was sealed with the words spoken ‘I do.’

After Sophia and her sister Lina are orphaned they are entrusted into the hands of their Grandfather. A Grandfather who loves one sister more than the other, the other too much of a reminder of the daughter he lost to a tragic accident.

2015: Sophia learns that on her 18th birthday and the day she graduates from College, she will be handed over to Raphael to become his property a deal struck up to clear a debt owed by her Grandfather.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

My Grandfather, a man who should protect me, would give me to a stranger.

Raphael has deep rooted psychological issues ranging from physical abuse, emotional and metal abuse as a child at the hands of his father, which have scarred him from the inside out.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Raphael is a man so filled with hate and vengeance, Sophia's family was the root cause of all this hurt, he's out to wreck havoc and bring them down, they are pawns in his twisted game, but the lines many a time become blurred.

Damaged beyond repair. That was me. That was what I was. A wrecked monster. A killer. A hateful vengeful beast. - Raphael

These two characters are the perfect blend of broken and strong, he's met his match when it comes to Sophia, in the beginning I thought she'd be a meek little mouse but she's a tough little spitfire, he doesn't know what's hit him when it comes to her. He tries to be dominant and possessive of her but at every turn it backfires when she doesn't cower and become scared. What starts off with hate burning in his belly turns into a slow burn love.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's right to go into this thinking it's going to be all dark and all that shit but it's not at all, the author has done a great job of reining that in, this gripped me by the heart in the worst but best possible way, the pace of the story, her use of words, all perfect, this author fast became one of my favourites each and every book I've read of hers I have loved, I think this one though is one of my favourites by her, just showed a softer side of her writing abilities.

Okay my heart, please slow down! We finished it, calm down please! And what an amazing book! This book makes you hold your breath all the time! You just want to read and read... you can't put it away.

At Sofia's eighteenth birthday she becomes Raphael's property. She is the peyment of a debt that her grandfather owed. This marriage is only for three years. So when she turns twenty-one her inheritance will belong to Raphael.

"My face burned with shame and fury, and each step reminded me that it was the devil I was about to marry. A monster, hiding beneath the most beautiful mask."

After the death of her parents, she and her sister, live with their grandfather. For her grandfather, Sofia isn't really important. He didn't hurt her but he didn't love her either.
Raphael has spent six months at jail because he has killed his father just with his bare hands. Unlike Sofia, Raphael had been abused physically, emotionally and mentally.

"Shattering. Damaged beyond repair. That was me. That was what I was. A wrecked monster. A killer. A hateful, vengeful beast."

I loved these two characters. I liked how he was warring with himself; how he try to fight with his demons. I liked that she trust him enough to know he's not going to hurt her. To be honest, I thought this book is one of the darkest one but surprise, surprise! It was full of passion and sexual tension but also at the same time a little dark.

The storyline was perfect and well-paced. The characters were well-written. Above all, I loved we had Raphael's POV too. I really like to know more about Damon and Lina! I wish Ms. Knight writes a book for them really soon.

This book was my first read by Natasha Knight (please don't judge me) but I promise it isn't my last! I really loved this book and enjoyed it a lot!

I have read many books by Natasha Knight. This book is exactly what I have come to expect from her. Dishonorable is a fantastic read. It’s dark, gritty, raw, intense!

Raphael has some major psychological issues and is super possessive, dominating, raw, primal and hot. He is also generous, sensitive and sweet. Sofia is cute, a bit naïve, smart and sassy. For better or worse they were basically the perfect couple.

Sofia has her issues with her family, and especially with her deceitful grand-father. Raphael has his own skeletons in the closet too, and he found it so hard to get attached to someone. Although their relationship was at a warp speed, there are just connections that click right away. Raphael was able to give her things she didn't know she needed and she was able to give him the love and security he so desperately craved and needed.

The sex scenes are creative while also having a sense of intimacy and love. Raphael is a serious Alpha male that had me squirming in my seat. I really liked him. He didn't mince words. He said it like it was. He wanted her. He got her. He was going to keep Sofia no matter what.

I love a story that makes me feel, and the author definitely accomplished this in Dishonorable. This book is well written and keeps the reader interested with suspense and intrigue. Be sure to 1-Click it!!

The story kept my interest in the beginning but soon enough it started fading and finally ceased to exist. Which is a pity, I love a forced marriage trope 😒

By the way... is the hero a proud owner of split personality, lol? One moment he's almost caring and the next moment he's a complete asshole. I don't mind assholes in books (especially those who have no good reason to be one he-he) but this one didn't impress me🙄

His traumatic past doesn't justify it, though the heroine thinks otherwise (of course!) and tries to see good in him (kudos for trying).

The heroine demonstrates the worst case scenario of instalust aka a thing that tops my list of least favourable things. He behaves like a cunt even during some extremely intimate scenes and she eats his shit with the words "yes, please, more of that shit". These scenes were not sexy at all.

Probably I was in the mood for something deeper and more romantic which prevented me from appreciating the characters' basic "instincts" on full display. Though I must admit my logic must be flawed because I tried to find DEEP AND ROMATIC in mafia romance💁‍♀️💁‍♀️💁‍♀️. In my defense, some mafia books have a perfect mix of danger, spice and sizzling romance.

More importantly, I got extremely bored, I didn't believe in their love and I didn't feel any connection to the leading characters. Nada. Niente.
I've noticed that I tend to love the first part of this author's books and then it goes downhill for me💤

This is the kind of story that you want to make sure you have plenty of time to sit and enjoy because once you start you won't want to stop. Raphael was this deliciously dark and sensual character that had me gripping the edged of my Kindle. I loved how he was with Sophia and it was almost sweet in a messed-up kind of way.

The overall story held my interest and there was even a big of a mystery going on at times. I loved the connection that Sophia and Raphael had and I enjoyed both of their characters. The only part that had me a little disappointed was the fact I was looking for something actually dark in the story but never got it. Raphael definitely had a darkness about him, but during the book nothing happened that had me classifying this as a dark read. Maybe I've become so desensitized to this genre that I need some really fucked up things to happen, but for me personally this just won't go on my dark shelf.

I still highly recommend this story though and I think anyone that reads it will love Raphael and Sophia as much as I did.

"Monsters are made, not born." ~ Unknown

Raphael Amado experienced all kinds of hell but survived. After months of darkness, he's back but he is never the same and now he is ready to collect from the man who owes him a lot-- Marcus Guardia.

Orphaned Sofia Guardia lives a normal teen life... well, that's what she thought. Until a few months before her eighteenth birthday, her grandfather dropped the bomb on her. When she turns eighteen, her life is not hers anymore. And if she wants her younger sister to be safe, she has to marry the man she has only seen once, Raphael Amado.

Sofia sees beyond Raphael's dark facade but will her innocence be enough to make him realize that what he really needs in life is absolution?

THE CHARACTERS

Ferran Calderon as Raphael Amado

Raphael Amado is a jagged man. He wants the people around him to believe that he is evil because he is scared to be exposed to more pain. He had his fair share of pain in his life so now, he wants to inflict it.

The male MC of this book is an anti- hero, therefore he is not the usual swoon-worthy and sweep-you-off-your-feet kind of man that we usually read about. No. He's not sweet and gentle. Actually, he is the total opposite. Raphael's a jerk, extremely cocky, and there's a monster in him just waiting to be awaken. But you know why I fell in love with him hard? He softens and lets his guard down unconsciously some times, and for me those are his most beautiful moments. Natasha Knight was able to create an anti-hero who is difficult to hate. Forget perfect, people... because Raphael Amado will be your most favorite imperfect man. You will fall in love with every thing about him, specially after you read why he became who he is.

Adelaide Kane as Sofia Guardia

Sofia Guardia is soft, innocent, and young. Her pure qualities blend well with Raphael's roughness. You'll also genuinely feel that she is so much younger than the hero because she's very insistent and curious. She always wants to figure things out, specially why Raphael became that man he is right now. You will be amazed by her genuine belief in people's goodness. Her youth, chastity, and gentleness perfectly combines with Raphael's rough and dark demeanor. She too is flawed, have been betrayed but she takes all life's jabs positively. she's Sophia's very realistic and you'll definitely love her too.

THE STORY and WRITING

I have read a few Natasha Knight books and I would proudly say that DISHONORABLE is her best work to date. I really couldn't put my feelings coherently but let me just say that this book is one of those that you know will steal you from your reality just right after reading the Prologue. It's HIGHLY ADDICTIVE that you won't ever want to stop reading until you get to the end. I was so in love with the story and characters that I didn't want it to end, but I have tons of questions that need answers... so where do I go? My heart was torn between finishing it quickly and stalling.

The story flowed very smoothly, you know like that perfect first cappuccino cup you have in the morning? That good. So damn good. Every chapter I read fit perfectly to the previous and next one. It's the right blend of angsty, raw, and emotional. It may have a dark theme but I'm telling you... this book is for everyone-- dark romance lover or not. And this is the kind of book you want to ditch even your most important deadlines for because... *screams* no words.

Lastly, when you read this book, you will notice that Natasha Knight really had it well plotted... even the story's location. I was loitering on Pinterest the entire time I was reading because I wanted to have a full experience of the book. Most of the story happened in Tuscany, Italy in a small farming town called San Gimignano. Here are some of the places mentioned in the book, in case you're interested.

San Gimignano

Civitella in Val di Chiana

Basilica De Santa Croce

This author took my imagination to its wildest ride this 2017. Her description of the places and events, they're too real. The chapters played like a movie in my head, yes.. I felt very close to the story. It felt like I was really a part of it.

DISHONORABLE is a tale of betrayal, vengeance, and love. It's one of the most gripping and touching book I have read this year. Natasha Knight has redefined romance by writing something that has so much depth in it... something that really has a story and not just your everyday sexy.

A contracted reluctant marriage.
I think I saw someone say that this is dark, but I’d go with it’s a medium grey.
There’s a bit of tension between the hero and heroine. The naughty bits were pretty steamy, but i didn’t really FEEL the connection. Just more so felt told about the connection.

That being said I did enjoy reading this one. I was looking for a forced marriage romance with reluctant romance, and this definitely fit that bill.

Not sure if I will read the rest in the series though.

Dark, emotional treat…

While the story felt very similar to Salvatore when it started, that’s where the similarity ended. Well, except for it was well-written, deliciously dark and had me reading it from start to finish in one ‘can’t read fast enough’ sitting!

“Take care when fighting the monsters you don’t become one.”

Anger, despair, revenge. There was much that drove Raphael Amado and Sofia Guardia was going to be the catalyst for it all, Catalyst, collateral damage, victim – she was going to bring it all to a head and break him. Or perhaps save him…

“I wondered how long ago he’d been broken. Who’d done the breaking.”

Coming together in an arranged marriage from he** is perhaps not the greatest start to any nuptials. I know, I know, massive understatement. Right from the start, however, Raphael and Sofia were going to find things in common – physical attraction, a shared yearning for a loving family and a thirst for the truth. These were going to carry them through the uncertainty, the anguish and the misunderstandings that were going to plague their rocky relationship…

“If you let the past go, maybe it will let you go.”

Bottom line, I liked these characters. The way their families came together, that drove them to their current place, was complicated and it was up to them to find their way through it, to truth and acceptance. Raphael was not an obvious Prince Charming with the horrible events of his past overshadowing every step of his present. Sofia was confused but smart and quickly realized that things were not always black and white. That Raphael was not all black and white.
Running the emotional gamut from despair to joy, this steamy, dark read has elevated this author to my ‘must read’ shelf. -Diane, 4 stars

**

Raphael thought it was going to be as simple as marrying her, sharing a somewhat life with her for 3 years and be done with her afterwards. What he didn't expect was Sofia shattering the wall he erected around his heart and life.

Raphael's need for revenge was deep and he was willing to do whatever it took to make sure it executed just the way he had planned it out. Sadly for Sophia that meant that she would be caught in the crossfire.

I kept hoping that Raphael would be a little loving and caring for Sophia yet his need to show the "world" that he was who he was made it hard to really trust he would. There were tender moments between both of them and it made me smile and keep hoping for the best.

I will say that I wished I could have given Sophia's grandfather a piece of my mind because he was one that I just could not stand!!

An emotionally beautiful love story of leaving revenge and the past in the past and allowing love and happiness in your life. Be prepared to fall in love with Raphael & Sophia <3 -Kara, 5 Stars

“If you let the past go, maybe it will let you go.”

Oh My God, this book! Hands down to Natasha Knight! Dishonorable is WOW! Just WOW!!!I can't even with this book. Start to finish is perfectly written. I was hooked from every words and line, captivated with the weight of the emotions it held. I have totally blown away!! Talk about a book that had me rendered speechless, and this is one of those books. Really, Dishonorable is that good! The enemies to lovers trope were perfectly crafted and portrayed. I love every minute of it!

"Does it scare you that I want to hurt you? That I want you to feel me Take you?Feel me tear you. That I want to hear you cry out?"

Ahhhh..Raphael Amado, how can't I be blown away with this man? How can't I resist such a broken man? Despite his darkness, despite him being that "monster" no woman dreamt of having, I cannot resist him. He's that hero you so hate but dream of loving. He's that man despite being a jerk, AH, god the list goes on, but I cannot deny the fact that he's the man you wanted to love more than hated. That is Raphael, his darkness and brokenness got me. It moved me in every way possible. I ached for him but at the same time hated him for his actions...but boy..oh boy I love him still. He's had this power over me that even with his unacceptable behavior got through me. YASSS!!! A bad hero is just perfect especially if portrayed well. He may be a monster but the way his pain was described is felt with every line I read. I ached for him. I can feel his struggles because of the demons from his past but I was still rooting for him from the beginning until the end. Now, Sofia Guardia is another story. She's this woman I adore because of her strong personality. She's just perfect for Amado's dark world. Too young and innocent-ish but you cannot resist loving her. All throughout she's this heroine who stood up for herself. A no damsel in distress. Instead, a woman with a strong determination.

Seriously, Natasha expertly has written this story. The chemistry of the leads is palpable. The sexual tension was so thick, holy wow sex scenes was just scorching and sizzling, a cold shower is not enough. They are perfect together. Sofia, the light to Raphael's darkness. The angst and suspense were there and it kept on the edge. Start to finish, I feel my blood was rushing anticipating to the next scene. It was addicting despite the darkness lurking. I inhaled it, breathe with it as if it's my last breath. I know there's an HEA but the way it was delivered with the right pacing and turn of events was amazingly written. Even the places they went to and from are vividly described as if I was with them all throughout their journey. My God, I was dreaming all of it and I don't want it to end.

Overall, Dishonorable is a great book. I love how everything was written. It was excellently portrayed and delivered and really aimed to feel and make the readers feel. It's a great enemy to lovers romance despite how dark it seems.Characters, plot, ahhh.. many to mention but all really was excellent. And you know what really had me with this book? It's more than just revenge, it's more that just the demons but the portrayal of love despite all the flaws. So touching...so addicting...Heart gripping and Perfectly imperfect, I couldn't ask for more!

Sofia is promised to marry Raphael on her eighteenth birthday to settle an old debt. As her grandfather owes a lot of money, he uses Sofia like a worthless pawn. She is more than angry about the situation, but she follows through with the arrangement and moves to his house in Tuscany.

Raphael has plans for revenge. He's angry towards Sofia's family and another Italian organization. He needs to be a monster to follow through with his plans, but Sofia's presence messes with his mind.

The chemistry between them is hot and steamy. I couldn't put this down! Raphael is one sexy alpha male with some dark demons.

I really enjoyed all the characters involved. The amazing story kept me glued to the pages, but towards the end I started losing track of who owes who. But even with that, I still really liked this book.

It was a good book. I won't say otherwise, but I think I felt a bit mislead because it wasn't as dark as I thought it would've been.

The prologue is fucking awesome, because it kept me on my feet, and had me itching to turn the pages to find out what had happened. It was after that though, that the things started to change a bit.

Sofia Guardia had become the payment her grandfather, Marcus Guardia, made to Raphael Amado, when he had come to collect for Marcus's sins.

The payment?

Marriage. To Raphael. The moment she turned 18, and became legal.

I really like Sofia as a woman. Even though everything around her was changing drastically, she held on to her strength, and didn't become a damsel in distress. I especially loved how well she accepted Raphael and his past.

The chemistry between the two of them was very good, and the development of their relationship was extremely well crafted. The only thing I had a problem with was how easily things got resolved in the ending. It felt a bit of a cop-out.

To say that I was intrigued would be an understatement, because I was more than intrigued. I guess I was just a bit disappointed when I couldn't connect with the characters. But that's totally on me. I wasn't in the right mindset to get into it. This book on it's own was really good. Very angsty and very well written, so I think I'll go back and read it some other day when I think I would really enjoy it more.

My venture into dark romance isn't going very good. I would not class this as a Romance, dark or not. The "hero"/"love"interest is nothing more than an abusive asshole. I only have 1 hour left but I will not finish it. I don't know why I didn't DNFed this earlier. Nothing about this is romantic or sexy. It's disgusting. Normally I would feel like a romance/or book not simply being my cup of tea. But this.. no.

EXCERPT ALERT!

Dishonorable by Natasha Knight

Prologue 1
Sofia
July 2016

I shuddered at the sweep of cold air that rushed me when the basilica doors opened. They carried a warning. An omen.
My husband-to-be stood at the head of the aisle dressed in black from head to toe, opposite my bridal white.
Like a funeral.
Like my funeral.
He was striking, even if I hated him. His victorious eyes devoured me whole without ever leaving my own, trapping me, predator and prey. I wondered if his mouth was watering, saliva wet on his tongue, as he imagined my submission, my yielding to him.
I knew what was expected of me tonight. What he and my grandfather had worked into the contract that made me Raphael Amado’s property. We must consummate. My virgin blood must stain his sheets. My face burned with shame and fury, and each step reminded me that it was the devil I was about to marry. A monster, hiding beneath the most beautiful mask. And I knew as I walked toward my unchosen, unwanted destiny that I would never forgive my grandfather for his betrayal.

Prologue 2
Raphael
July 2016

She stood like a vestal virgin at the doors, her golden gaze arctic as it swept down the aisle to collide with mine. She masked her thoughts well, but when she lay beneath me tonight, I would own her. I would know her pleasure. Her pain. I would possess every inch of her.
She belonged to me already, even if she couldn’t stomach the idea. I wondered if I’d have to make her tonight. If I’d have to pry her legs apart and hold her down to soak my cock in her virgin’s blood. I needed to get that thought out of my head, though. It wouldn’t be right to stand before God and man with a fucking hard-on.
I watched her as she commenced to walk down the aisle: stunning, striking—and on my twin brother’s arm. She’d refused her grandfather. Beautiful, that. He deserved only her hate.
Her thick chestnut hair with its intricate braids had been arranged on top of her head. Even with the lace draping her pale face, I could see her eyes, set and accusing, burning into me, at odds with her soft, full lips and innocent, almost cherublike features.
When she reached me, my brother lifted the veil from her face. The look they exchanged grated on my nerves. They’d become fast friends.
Before handing her over to me, he pierced me with a look of clear disapproval. As if what I was doing was just for me. As if it weren’t for him too. As if I didn’t deserve everything I took, after what I’d been put through. His look accused me of stealing this virgin bride as if I were some sort of monster.
Well, he hadn’t walked the last few years in my shoes, so he could go fuck himself.
I shifted my gaze from my brother to Sofia, let it sweep down over her, seeing her in the dress I’d chosen. She only narrowed her shadowed eyes at me for that, but she didn’t fight, not when I covered her hand with mine, not when I drew her down to kneel before God. And when time came to promise to love, cherish, and obey—yes, I made sure to include the vow of obedience—Sofia spoke the words that would seal her fate and mine.
I do.
That was all it took, and she was mine.
And when we stood and faced each other as husband and wife, I wrapped my hand around the back of her neck and drew her to me, claiming her mouth with my own, announcing to anyone who had any doubt at all, that I owned this woman.
That she was mine.
And what was mine, no man had better put asunder.
Because I’d fucking kill any bastard who tried.

5 HONORABLE CROWNS

Wow! Just WOW! This is my first Natasha Knight book, and it will not be last. It is sexy, suspenseful, and romantic in its own dark way. I seriously love every minute of this story.

Part of the reason I enjoyed this book so much is Raphael. I shouldn't love him, I know this, but he is so much more than this unrelenting anti-hero. He is damaged, and his need for revenge is understandable. Even his anger and tendency towards physical aggression is understandable. And although he completes some questionable acts, there is a vulnerability to this immensely strong character. Watching him change and evolve throughout the story is phenomenal.

Watching Sofia develop as a character is another joy of the book. She goes from a young, naive eighteen year old to a woman. The strength she develops throughout the novel is admirable, but even before she grows into this final version of herself, she shows moments of strength with Raphael, especially when it involves her sister. Her loyalty to the people she loves, and her fierce desire to protect them make her a phenomenal heroine.

From the very beginning, Natasha Knight engages the reader by dropping them into the rising action of the story. This immediate drop into the story, entices readers to continue to read because they are desperate to know how Raphael and Sofia got there. And let me tell you, there story does not disappoint. There is danger and deception and an electric chemistry between the main couple that will draw readers attention and refuse to let go.

Dishonorable is simply fantastic. For those of you that love a darker romance, a hero that has some questionable ethics, and a fierce heroine, then this story is for you.

THANK YOU,NATASHA KNIGHT,FOR THE ARC!!!

This is absolute love and mayhem.

Truly,I was sucked into the story instantly and the instant sync with the characters and story was fantastic. I was completely involved and excited for the good parts ;)

The flow and the progression..everything was thoroughly satisfying.

The steam level..well..

There were some sigh inducing scenes.. some that made me jealous of Sofia..

Now,onto the characters that I LOVED with a passion..

Raphael..

He comes off as a crazy, messed up,cruel, brooding alpha but omfg ladies he is absolute perfection.
The ways he thinks he needs redemption from his past so he can overcome his weaknesses are NOT the ways for him and that is what the perfect Sofia shows him!

Sofia..

Beautiful, smart, brave, courageous and a heroine who doesn't cower (much,HAHAHA) and how she, first off,has to go through a situation that would have people run for the hills. Any way,she is absolute love in the way she helps and calms Raphael and shows him a different way for it all..

But hey! That's messin with his emotions,y'all..and he ain't much happy 'bout THAT!

So we get a lot of deviations from the HEA but omfg I looooooved this book.

I specially loved how he riled her up!

I shoved him backward. Except he didn’t move. “You’re going to have to do better than that.” “Fuck you.” “Is that an offer?”

Natasha Knight has been on my TBR list for a while but this one was my first and she generously gave me the ARC! I am a faaaaaaaan!

'Dishonorable ' by Natasha Knight is the story of Raphael and Sofia. Please be warned this is a Dark Romance so if you are looking for Hearts and Flowers this isn't your book. Although I love my Hearts and Flowers books... I always love a Dark Romance. I love how the Male is strong but broken who seems to know only hurt and tries to keep that attitude up when he finds the women who he doesn't understand. A women who is strong yet gentle...who has the man turn around his way of thinking and acting.
This book was that for me. Raphael is a broken man who has put up with his father's abuse of him and his mother. So much so that he was put in jail for six years for killing his father in self defense. Now Raphael has one thing in mind and that is revenge of the people that hurt this family. One of those people being Sofia's Grandfather . Sofia is a sweet girl just graduating from school and learns that her Grandfather has set in motion for her to marry Raphael. Sofia has never met Raphael other than one time when she came home from school break to see him arguing with her Grandfather. Now she is to be married to Raphael to settle a debt. Sofia has her struggles too after her parents died which left her Grandfather in charge of their lives.
Sofia tries to stay strong and go forward with this marriage but can she grow to understand the hurt behind Raphael and his actions? Will Raphael see something more than revenge in Sofia?
I must say I loved Raphael and Sofia's brother and sister and hope they get together. I am hoping that will be the next book...Fingers Crossed!

Little did I know my life would change the day a stranger showed up at our doorstep, demanding repayment for a debt he did time for that my grandfather was responsible for. My grandfather did not argue just gave him the only thing he had to sacrifice, "ME" My dooms day came after I turned 18th and I graduated from High School. He showed up at my graduation to collect ME...

Raphael Amado plan was coming together nicely. All he had to do was wait until Sophia Guardia turned 21 and her entire inheritance would be his. Little do the Guardia's know it would cost them a lot more once he was done destroying everything they had. However, coming from Tuscan with a dark past, dark cellar and vineyards that was drier than the safari desert...did I understand that inviting an innocent would bring light into the darkness, But is it too late to be saved considering my past hunts me and is the only thing my dreams are made of the 3 am wake calls.

It wasn't what I expected. I know I keep saying it, but I can't help it. I love story's as this one, when the alpha claims the h as a debt. Did I missed it what kind of dog Charlie is, or wasn't it mentioned? The grandfather gave me the creeps and that was weird because he was kind of "nice".

I would've loved to give 5 stars but sometimes it was like hot, cold, hot and that was a bit confusing. At times I hated him and at times I loved him.

I would recommend this one to everyone, it isn't to dark but also not very light.

Damn.. You know when you finish a book & you really didn't want too? Like the kind that you read in one sitting because you CAN NOT close your kindle, but you know you are going to regret it because it means you get to the end quicker ... Well that's me right now after finishing Dishonorable. Happy, content but also kinda miserable because I want to stay with Raphael & Sofia longer. Truly I'm really not ready to let them go.

Their journey was tense, gripping, hard & packed with the kind of emotions that left me holding my heart & my breath on many occasions. It was the perfect anti-hero fix for me, It tugged me every which way possible, but ultimately wrapped me in love & made me believe that love will always win the war.

So, who are the saints & sinners of this story?

Raphael Amado is my dark, dangerous hero. Having suffered through his early years, he was then forced to live through a tragic event that changed the course of his life, forever. He is hard, ruthless, & determined to seek vengeance on those who played a part in the events from that night. His thirst for retribution drives him hard, holding him in a vice like grip, ensuring the plan he has painstakingly plotted is delivered in all its glory. He will deliver his fury & watch as it burns everything to the ground.

But as this complex man brings his plan into play & thus Sofia into his life in Tuscany, I saw a side I didn't expect & omg my heart ached for him. For beneath the hard shell, is a man so very lost & alone. Whose heart is torn, who carries such immense guilt, sorrow & regret, it’s palpable - tearing him apart from the inside. His battle with the memories that suffocate him is raw & real. I could feel his struggle with the demons of his past that ravage his mind, never allowing him peace, only ever offering him pain. This lost soul stole a piece of my heart & I loved him for it.

Now for my heroine - Sofia Guardia. At 18 she becomes the key piece in Raphael's game. A lamb to the sacrifice, a possession that will bend at his will... or face the consequences. Oh, how I loved this gorgeous girl who was full of grit & steely determination! She accepted her role like a true champion & even when scared, nervous & hurt, she never once lost her light, beauty & innocence.

Her ability to believe in the goodness of the human spirit was breathtaking. How she battled for a man who was so very lost was heartbreaking & how she offered herself to him as he fought the devil himself was just stunning

How are the feels?

All consuming. I just couldn't get enough. My head & heart was pushed & pulled through every kind of emotions possible. The darkness of this story pulled me in & I felt EVERYTHING that pulsed within its grasp... But even then, I never gave up hope, that the purest of light would ALWAYS lead the most lost & damaged soul home, that love would forever heal the broken & that happiness can be found if you simply open your heart.

How's the writing?

Natasha really has become a solid favourite of mine. The storyline was well paced, packed with angst, danger & some very deliciously dirty sex scenes, all of which added so many valuable layers to these already well developed characters. I was hooked from start to finish & before I knew it, the clock read 3.30 am & I was left wondering where time had gone AND how on earth I was meant to sleep.

Would I recommend it to my bestie?

Damn straight I would. It would come with a warning that surprisingly tissues would be needed & maybe a large glass of Italian vino to settle the nerves. (or a bottle lol)

After reading the blurb for Dishonorable and knowing that it was Ms. Knight that was writing it, I knew it would be raw, gritty and intense. And that is exactly what I love about her writing and her stories. And Dishonorable was no different. Ms. Knight certainly delivered with this one.

Raphael is out for revenge and the one way that he knows how to get it is through Sofia. And her grandfather had no problem using her to pay his debt. On her eighteenth birthday Raphael would come for her and soon after she would be his wife. What are Raphael’s plans with her after that? That is something I had to ask myself as well. Raphael is a very broken man for many reasons. And what he has been through is truly heartbreaking and one could understand why he is the man that we see today. But beneath that very hard and tough exterior is a sweet, gentle and caring man, even if he doesn’t let anyone see that side of him very often. He is a tortured soul and with Sofia now in his life things begin to change. He begins to change, well as much as someone like him can.

Sofia has her own issues and past that she is dealing with. For one the betrayal that she has just felt from her grandfather is front and center. He was never a loving or generous man but to just hand her over to the enemy sort of speaks volumes about how he really feels about her. She wants the truth where he is concerned but there is only one person who will tell her what she wants to know. But he is also the one man that she hates, that she cannot trust and also is the one man that she has no business falling for. Raphael is her enemy and even though she is stuck with him she does not have to like it and she intends to fight him on everything. Until she starts to really see who this man is. There is so much more to this man than most people think. For some reason she feels safe and secure with him. And she seems to be the one person he can open up to. But this is just a business deal. And in the end Raphael has plans for how he is going to destroy her family. Will this arranged marriage turn into something that neither one of them saw coming?

Raphael is that character that is sexy and a complete alpha male. He is the person that at times you want to hate him for his actions but no matter what happens you cannot help but just love him. I found myself throughout this book just loving him and wanting to comfort him. Even through the moments when I wanted to punch him, because deep down he was a good man with a heart.

Sofia could be feisty at times but she is also very naïve at times. She is still young and I think wants to be able to trust the people that she should trust. What her and Raphael have is a connection that neither one of them expected. And no matter how much they both try to deny it, for their own personal reasons, it is still there. I loved what they had, through the good moments and the bad they were perfect together. I think they both gave each other something that they didn’t know they needed.

Dishonorable has it moments that are raw and intense, but there are also moments of sweetness. This was one of those books that I just did not want to put down. I loved the intensity, and the passion and the characters. I love reading a romance that involves two broken characters. What I loved was that Raphael did change when he was with Sofia but he was also the same person that he was before he met her. He was hot and cold but that was who he was, Sofia just brought out the good that was in him. I loved this book and really hoping we get more. I want to see what the story is with Damon and Liv.
