I love to read. It's a simple fact that has been true since I discovered the worlds of Judy Blume at the age of ten. After years of weekly travel as a consultant implementing computer software into global companies, I ended my nomadic lifestyle to raise my two children. Now, my imagination is my only limitation on where I can go and my writing lets me escape from the daily duties of being a mom, wife, chauffeur, scheduler, cook, teacher, cleaner, and mediator.

If writing wasn't a priority, it would never get done.

So awesome! Love this series of stand-alones. Sizzling hot!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the second book in The Boardroom series that I have read and just like the first one, this was an awesome story.
What sets this author apart and what makes Strictly Confidential such a fabulous story is first of all, the heat and off the charts connection between the main characters. The sizzling fire between them will touch you right in the gut. Erotic, sensual and so captivating!
The second thing is the entire flow and theme of the story. It’s unique with wonderful characters that made it tough to even put down. I want to see where the story goes in the future.
Linda Aicher has made a definite impression on me as a go-to-author. I know when I pick up a book by her, I will get interesting characters, a well-developed story, and very sexy scenes that will knock your socks off.
This book is definitely a win!
Another new and exciting story from The Boardroom. Again, a fresh and original story line had me totally engrossed in the book, waiting and wondering how they were going to get to the Boardroom and just what would happen when they got there. An Alpha male and an Alpha female make for one good story.
Kennedy had no choice but to be on her toes, large and in charge in a world that was made for men and has been invaded by a woman. Her business practices, her sexuality, her life are run by her. She sees what she wants and works until she gets it. She doesn't give up control to anyone or anybody. She has and will keep proving to her father that she can and will run the family business. But, sometimes, it feels good to let go. One night, one man … it can't hurt to let him have the reins. She'll never see him again so she's got nothing to lose. Until the night is over and she can't stop thinking about him, about the night, about his dominance. It's time to take back control of her sexuality the only way she knows how. The Boardroom.
Matt doesn't let his dominance show. He's learned his lesson. His priorities in life are his children and his business. Ever since his wife walked out on him because he couldn't give her what she needed outside the bedroom. Abandoning their kids, he's all they ever had and would not jeopardize their relationship for anyone, especially a woman. But, he can't get Kennedy out of his mind. Maybe it's time to take Trevor up on his offer to go to The Boardroom.
What a surprise they both had.
A whole different story by a wonderful author who knows how to take her readers on a fantastic journey through an erotic world with men who have the biggest hearts and woman who know what they want. I am truly stunned that Lynda Aicher is able to bring different stories and scenarios to life. The members of the Boardroom are intriguing and interesting and she knows just how to bring out the best in all of them. I loved Matt's family and how they rallied around him. His children were both fun and fascinating and his mom just stole my heart. But Matt and Kennedy together, were just wonderful. I'm not sure but they may be my favorite pair yet to have entered the Boardroom and left with an HEA.
Strictly Confidential by Lynda Aicher is book Three in The Boardroom Series. This is the story of Kennedy Keller and Matt Hamilton. I have read the previous books, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Kennedy has worked to be a strong, hard business women to prove to other and her father that she can handle the business world. But taking on night to herself to let her self be dominated sexually with Matt ends up leading to her wanting him more. Matt dealing with a bad breakup ends up taken a friends offer for to The Boardroom that leads him to Kennedy. Both end up with an attraction that cannot be stopped and each learning to get past their 'baggage'.
Really enjoyed this hot read!
The 3rd in this kinky C-Suite series, the erotic scenes continue to heat up. This can be read as a standalone. Kennedy Keller is a VP and she fought hard for the position. She the one who is in control at the office. When a chance encounter with Matt reveals she may prefer not to be in control in the bedroom, it could be a deal breaker for Kennedy.
It is nice to see a lead where the woman is a strong and confident. She succeeds at work and also plays hard with the illicit sex parties for the power movers. This erotic playground is a safe haven where anyone's desires can be fulfilled with no judgment. The hard part is when relationships develop and move out of the discreet after hour play time.
The chemistry between Kennedy and Matt is hot. For a re-awakened dominant to play with a questioning submissive, it is the kind of chase I enjoy watching. The sensual courtship is kinky and arousing. Having the "real world" situations intrude into their escape from reality is nicely done. This erotic romance is recommended to kinky readers who enjoy dominant men and strong female submissives.
***Received an Advanced Readers Copy during a blog tour with TLC Book Tours in exchange for an honest review***
Have I mentioned yet recently how much I really enjoy romantic erotica where the fictional female lead isn't some inferior twatwaffle of a damsel? Man do I love a good strong, powerful female force who leads the novel just as much as the male character and comrades I can admit to you know, Strictly Confidential delivered.
I LOVED the main characters. Kennedy was a breath of fresh air in the erotic romance world. She was ballsy my furry friends. I liked her take charge personality, the exterior that she showed was rough yet she owned her sex appeal - I liked this about a female character. Plus she had a little spicy secret, one that I can definitely get on board with - She liked being watched. It was a thrill. Granted I know what you are thinking, this isn't reinventing the wheel or anything but honestly it was how Kennedy was presented as both a corporate level female lead while also utilizing her sexual nature as a multitude of outlets.
Then we have Matt. I honestly could not get enough of him. His personality wasn't overbearing, overpowering but rather stern yet charming. I liked how he handled himself as well as everyone in his surroundings. I honestly think that Matt and Kennedy had such an amazing chemistry from start to finish that it really just blew me away. I loved how there wasn't pointless drama, there was just a simple understanding, an insta-respect or trust rather towards one another that really reflected in their sexual encounters. It was delicious.
Admittedly with that said, I would have really enjoyed getting more of their backstory, their history but honestly, who needs all those whistles and tizzles when you have the most scrumptious sex scenes that light up not only my pages.
Now in the midst of all this gooey awesome things that I loved about the novel, I have to admit some counters that honestly didn't fully deter my enjoyment but for a better lack of a term just didn't hold my interest.
For starters, most erotica has an exaggerated setting, if you ever go into a genre of this spectrum and you are expecting anything less than that, you will be surprised to find out the dynamics are played a little more dramatic than most. Its like Gone with the Wind but on a porn site... My problem however with Strictly Confidential is that there were some moments that presented as key elements to the drama or the development of the characters but for me seemed pointless. For one example, without giving away too much, there is a scene between Kennedy, Matt, and her father; Because Kennedy is a woman in a man's business world she has to show a certain exterior - I get it, I love it, however there was just some points, like that scene, where this played on the storyline only to have a certain level of additive to help enhance that character's trait but really the scene itself was awkward and quite frankly wasted space.
Secondly, speaking on awkward and wasted space, I would have much rather had more steam-filled action between Kennedy and Matt more than what was delivered. Again, what I got was delicious, but it wasn't enough.
Bottom line, I enjoyed Strictly Confidential a massive amount. There was a certain level of depth, character development, chemistry that was steaming off the pages without drowning out the erotic expectations but not over doing them. Regardless of my slight tidbits about the over-exaggerated flowness of the drama, which if I am being honest, in what erotica world are things not scaled up a smidge, I still can say this was a great read.
It was quick, solid read that kept me intrigued with the chemistry, the romantic development between Kennedy and Matt and honestly by the end of each encounter, I was sitting there drooling for more! Super great. I definitely plan on adding more Lynda to my TBR in the near future!
Strictly Confidential is a must read for lovers of a strong female lead! Kennedy is a woman who’s made her way to the top, clawing and fighting. Strong, beautiful, intelligent, and fierce, she’s the VP for her father’s company. Don’t let that fact fool you. She had to work three times as hard to be noticed, stay on top, and gain respect. A woman used to being on her guard, she prefers to seek her sexual relief in a venue of her own choosing, and design. The Boardroom is a group for high powered men and women to come to sexually sate themselves.
Exclusive, safe, and private, it’s always been a way for Kennedy to work her frustrations and stress away… until Matt. An unexpected one-night stand with the strong, dominant businessman has her wiring crossing. He’s broken through the wall she keeps up, and uncovered a submissive side, she didn’t know existed. When you add in the fact that he’s a potential client for her company, he should be off limits. But neither of them is playing by the rules they usually set for themselves.
A self-made, single father devoted to his kid, successful navigating a career, and dominant in the best ways, Matt was irresistible. I enjoyed watching him, and Kennedy navigate their way through the emotions neither expected and the give and take of the power they both wielded so expertly.
Strictly Confidential
3 Stars
As a woman in a male-dominated business, Kennedy Keller doesn't have the time or the inclination to explore her sexual needs. Then an anonymous encounter at a business convention provides the perfect opportunity for Kennedy Keller to test her boundaries with a sexy and assertive stranger. Matt Hamilton is well aware of the dangers of giving in to his desire for dominance and control, but Kennedy pushes all his buttons, and he sees no harm in a no-strings arrangement. However, Kennedy and Matt's one night together soon becomes more when they see each other again in the Boardroom. Can a one-night stand turn into a forever future?
Series note: Kennedy and Matt are new characters, so their romance can be read separately. Nevertheless, books 1 and 2 are enjoyable and recommended.
Kennedy and Matt are both likable as individuals. She is strong and confident as VP of her father's company, a position she has earned with hard work and initiative. He is a sweet and caring single father to two teenagers but struggles with his reawakening dominance. This should be the perfect recipe for an intense and erotic connection, but it somehow misses the mark. The romance lacks the chemistry that characterized the previous couples as Kennedy and Matt are at odds about what they want from their relationship. Moreover, the boardroom plays such a minor role it might as well have been left out altogether.
Overall, this is entertaining enough but the first two books are better.
Matt's a business owner and Kennedy is representing her family's company. they meet at convention and have a heated, erotic sexual encounter, walking away without exchanging last names. During a Boardroom scene they meet again and everything gets even hotter.
Matt is fighting past demons and kink gone wrong, but he can't deny his desires when it comes to Kennedy.
Kennedy is afraid of eroding all gains if she submits to Matt but there's a part of her that craves that submission.
I think the author does a great job, blending the realities of kink with the fantasy of it. The part that I didn't get is during contract negotiations between her company and his, he did something, that made her feel like she lost her power and things went south for awhile because of it. I say something because even after rereading the section five times I didn't get it. I got her dad was an ass but I couldn't figure out what Matt had done that undermined, and took away her power. Except for this section of the story I thought it was a very sensual, erotic read with interesting characters.
This is the first book I have read in this series. In fact, I didn't know this book was part of a series. Yet, it can be read as a stand alone novel. Warning as this book is H-O-T. In fact, the sex and the characters, Kennedy and Matt are what the Fifty Shades should have been like. I can't speak to the books as I did not read them but I did see the movies and they were dullville. This book is what I expected from the movies. Yet, there was nothing dull about this book.
There was instant sexual connection between Kennedy and Matt. You could tell that there was something there with these two. While, Matt may have a "dom" background, it is not so aggressive that readers who are not into that type of thing will not be offended or turned off by this book. Don't tell Matt but it was really Kennedy that was in charge and not just in the boardroom. Yes, she did let Matt take charge in the bedroom but Matt didn't do anything that Kennedy didn't like. The only "confidential" thing about this book is if you don't share it with others. Which, you will want to.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the third book in the series - although there have been a couple of novellas too - I would recommend that you read them all, but this would stand alone too, as long as you understand the rules of The Boardroom!
Kennedy has been making sure that she is treated with the same respect as a man in her business life, trying to get her father to take her seriously. She uses the Boardroom to retain control over her sexual encounters too. So when at a conference away from home, she indulges in an evening with someone who attracts her attention, she surprises herself even more by allowing him to direct the evening.
Matt has been bringing his children up alone, ever since his wife, who wanted a Master, left them as he did not want that type of relationship. His failure to satisfy her needs, and looking after his children, has meant he has not dated since, but his encounter with Kennedy could change his mind about that staying alone. Shame that they did not exchange details.
So when they meet in The Boardroom, they are both surprised, but both accept that there is something between them. We then get to watch on as they navigate through the complications that come with relationships that both of them have previously avoided. I really liked their every day, as well as the very passionate and fulfilling emotional journey, indulging in a simple level of D/s which works for them.
Another good installment in the series.
I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads
Kennedy is a women in business. She's worked hard to be taken seriously in a very man dominated world of shipping pallets. She's hoping that one day her father will see her hard work and reward her with the business she's helped to build. After a long day of networking and seminars Kennedy is looking for some distraction, something completely not like her daytime persona. She decides to pick up a man in the hotel bar for a fling.
I liked Kennedy's character. She's no nonsense and full on professional. Keeping business & pleasure clearly separate and working hard to be taken seriously in her business. She's relatable to today's women in the workforce, we want it all and dont want to be made to feel guilty. Worrying a lot about being undermined and losing ground, I feel for her struggles. I like that she's also lonely and wanting companionship.
Matt gave up women and flings after his horrible divorce. His wife leaves him for a full time D/s relationship abandoning their two children. Matt has dedicated his time & energy to his kids and his job. But when Kennedy approaches him in the hotel bar he decides maybe it's time to have a little fun. He's unsure he can keep his Dominant side from appearing during sex, because he doesn't want to get sucked into another D/s situation like his ex. Matt is an easy character to feel for from the beginning and he only grows on you as the story unfolds. Putting your kids first is noble in my eyes.
These two characters do burn it up when they're between the sheets. I enjoyed every encounter from the hotel room tryst to the Boardroom scenes. Kennedy letting Matt touch her during her usually exclusive "her pleasing herself only" scenes gave the emotional connection the story needed to get these two characters going.
I'm really quite enjoying all the Boardroom books even if this one wasn't my favorite, it was still a good installment.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE
This was a different take from the usual boardroom series. First the couple meet outside the boardroom which isn't unusual because that has happened in other books in the series. But what's unique is that they have a one night stand and then go there separate ways only to meet back up again in the boardroom
I loved the connection between Kennedy and Matt. Appreciated how they tried to fight what they both knew they wanted and needed. Loved how they could only get what they wanted and needed from each other.
Another amazing story in the Boardroom series.
Strictly Confidential (The Boardroom #3) by Lynda Aicher
3.5 stars
M/F romance, BDSM
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Matt is recovering from thinking that his desire to be a Dom are not good for him. He felt that he was losing control. However, when he meets Kennedy, he can't help but want again. His Dom side is coming out and despite the fact that he wants to remain in some control, she is a weakness for him. When he lets his Dom out to play, Matt realizes that he might find everything he's ever wanted in Kennedy.
Kennedy has worked hard for everything that she has. With a father who is less than approving, despite her following in his footsteps, she has to work twice as hard as anyone else in her position. When she needs to let off some steam, she enters the Boardroom. After she meets Matt and after they've had a few encounters, she can't help but crave what he can offer.
They need to work out a few issues, but overall, this is a good read about the lifestyle and how power and control can lead to a happy ending.
Actually 3.5 stars.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks to NetGalley for the copy.
Strictly Confidential is the third book in this series (but can also be read as a standalone) that I can’t wait to read the rest of. The premise of The Boardroom is that it is a group among businessmen and women providing a safe place to express and take part in certain sexual desires that aren’t accepted as ‘mainstream desires’. In this novel, all you need to know about it is that Kennedy uses The Boardroom because she enjoys having power, and struggles to get it in her real life. She describes her lack of power and respect in the second paragraph of the book:
“A Keller wouldn’t do such a thing. Not a female one at least. Now her father, he’d probably be admired if he did, but not her. Not when she fought every damn day to be respected in a man’s world.”
As soon as I read this sentence, I felt an instant connection to Kennedy. Not only was she clearly a feminist, but she was also a woman who had worked her absolute hardest to get to where she was in the business world, and she was comfortable with her sexuality too. She is an all-round great character. Matt, Kennedy’s love interest, was interesting, and a pretty decent character, but there were parts about him I simply wasn’t keen on. There were a few quotes that made me… well, I just wasn’t a massive fan.
There was one part where he asks himself internally: “could he control his hunger?”, which made me cringe, and also made me feel a little uncomfortable. Any reference someone maybe being unable to control themselves in a sexual situation just sets of an alarm bell. I understand that it’s a book and Matt’s character isn’t like that, but still…. no.
Despite a few little bits, I did like Matt, and I really enjoyed his and Kennedy’s relationship. Right from the start I was enjoying their banter at the bar, and I was invested the whole way through. The only problem I had with the relationship was the insta-love element. I’m not sure how time passes in the book, but it doesn’t seem to be a large extent of time, and Kennedy and Matt fall for each other very quickly, as seen in this quote:
“Matt had her rethinking her entire life after two encounters. What would happen if she continued to see him? If she let herself try?”
Insta-love is a pet peeve of mine, and while I have no issues with insta-lust (which this book started off as) it’s very easy to cross the line between the two. Unfortunately, Matt and Kennedy’s romance did cross the line a little bit. It wasn’t to a large extent though, so I wasn’t put off by the relationship at all, and instead just think that a little editing of a quote like this would help. For example, showing that it’s what Kennedy is discovering about herself from interacting with Matt that is making her rethink things and not necessarily just him would have helped to rid the story of some of the insta-love elements creeping in.
Before I wrap this up, a quick note about the side characters: none of them are too developed, as this is a romance/erotica novel and that is obviously one of the elements on the back-burner, but damn I loved Matt’s mum! She was an actual queen and we could have used a bit more of her in the story. Matt’s children are fine, but I didn’t really care: Matt loves them, one of them goes to college and does sport and the other one still lives at home, but that’s the extent we get of that. Kennedy’s relationship with her parents could have been developed a little more, and Matt’s situation with his ex-wife could have used a little more context throughout the book, but these are just minor grievances and nothing serious.
With all this in mind, I whole-heartedly recommend this book if you are looking for a new romance/erotica novel to pick up, and want something a little different with a compelling female character.
Unlike the previous novels, this one doesn’t start in The Boardroom, but rather at a conference in SoCal, when Kennedy spies a particularly alluring man at her hotel bar. Kennedy’s at the conference as the VP of Operations at her family’s company, and the handsome man, Matt, is the new CEO of a trucking company – though neither of them know who each other is, as Matt refuses to talk about work. Their encounter is ridiculously hot and steamy, and since Matt insisted on no work talk, she leaves with no idea of who he is. Back in the SF Bay Area at their respective companies, though, they both find they’re having problems forgetting the other, which leads them both to attend a scene in The Boardroom. Sparks fly, but between their respective careers and families, is there any room for their relationship?
“Resentment got her nowhere, but owning and using her assets gave her power she had no trouble wielding. Her mother thrived among the social elite, and Kennedy had been raised to excel within that set as well. But she needed more than that. She wasn’t born to simply exist. She had things to prove and security to achieve — for herself.”
A lot of the direction in the book comes from Kennedy’s need to be in control of her life, to be the dominant person in her business negotiations. Matt, though, fulfills her long-buried need to let someone else take over control, but only in the bedroom. I don’t think it’s a secret to anyone that women need to work twice as hard as men to get the same recognition, and Kennedy’s further hampered by the fact that she works for her family’s company, with her father as CEO. Her job is pretty much her life, and pretty much her only personal activity is putting on scenes at The Boardroom. Matt, by contrast, is an ex-military man with two teens from his divorce, and he takes being there for his family seriously, even though he is also committed to his job. Matt has his own issues with dominance and submission, and has pretty much sworn off that lifestyle for the sake of his family (the story behind that is convoluted, and, I think, one of the parts of the book that worked least for me).
One of the issues I had with the book is that I didn’t care much for Kennedy. I loved how she owned her sexuality and how take-charge she was, but I didn’t like how she just put up with all the crap from her father. After all the angst with Kennedy’s father, I thought that particular story thread wasn’t very well wrapped up – we leave without much resolution. While I thought she loved her job – and excelled at it – I wasn’t sure if her dedication to Keller Pallets was because it was expected (she’d been working there since she took a job at the front desk as a teen) or because she really loved it. I had almost expected her to leave and become CEO of another company just to get some space from her family. I also had an issue with the main conflict of the book – that Kennedy couldn’t both be a powerful, in-charge woman and also someone who submitted to Matt. It just didn’t seem that far-fetched to me to understand that she could let down her guard with one person without affecting her professional life.
So, in summary, while I still enjoyed the book, I didn’t like it as much as the previous ones in the series. It does seem like things are finally being set up for Trevor’s story, though, so I’ll definitely continue reading to see what’s next.
I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
My Review:
A good measure of how much I loved this book...this is the first book I've read from this series, but immediately upon finishing it, I went online to buy print copies of the other two novels and all the ebook novellas. Yeah, I pretty much loved this story. But that's no surprise since I adored Lynda Aicher's Wicked Play series. So, the only question is...why the heck did I wait so long to pick this series up? Big mistake on my part.
So, the premise of this book...both Matt and Kennedy are executives. They meet at a convention and have a sizzling one-night encounter. They both think that's the end since there was no exchange of any personal details besides first names, so it's a shock when they meet at the Boardroom. The Boardroom is an exclusive sexual play arrangement for some of the town's most exclusive society members of the business community.
And things evolve from there.
As you would expect, this book is extremely hot. I loved Matt and Kennedy's interactions. There is a ton of chemistry sizzling between them, but neither one is looking for something more...but we know how that will turn out. Kennedy is focused on pleasing her father and maintaining her power in a man's world. Matt is focused on building his new company but still giving the attention that they need to his two teenagers. He doesn't have time for anything else and he learned the hard way with the kid's mother about how things can go when he indulges his proclivities. He does not engage in kink anymore...period. dot.
Yeah, best laid plans and all that, but I liked the way the author wrote the characters relationship evolution. It felt very realistic. There was some drama and conflict, but none of it ever felt mechanized. The story is just really well-written and I highly recommend it especially if you looking for something a little bit on the spicier side.
I received a gift copy of this book from the publisher with no obligation to post or review. This review was voluntary and is purely my honest opinion.
Strictly Confidential is off the charts, smoking hot!! Book three in The Boardroom series, Lynda Aicher has given us a spicy, but profound story. All the books in the series are great, but I seem to have a special place in my heart for Matt and Kennedy!
Kennedy is a successful women working for her father's company. He is very hard on her and she feels she has been continually "proving herself" where others would have already achieved that. The only place she feels her own power in within the walls of "the Boardroom". Its a place where she is not judged, she can just be.
After a conference, Kennedy meets Matt. Sparks fly! He is every thing wrapped up in a pretty perfect package! Sexy as hell and oh so dominant. She can't resist a piece of that!
Matt stuffed down those dominant feelings after his wife left years ago. When Kennedy saddles up to him at the conference, all those repressed feelings rise to the top. Their back and forth sexually charged banter, has him drooling for more! He can't push the thoughts away!
Their night turns into something they both wanted and craved, but never expected as well. Neither can get the other off their minds! At a chance encounter at a Boardroom scene, Matt and Kennedy throw caution to the wind. They embark on a journey of empowerment, understanding, and love.
I am crazy for Matt and Kennedy! They clicked for me and I loved seeing their love bloom. Yes boundaries are tested and rewritten, but the growth from the testing is so very important. Both had issues to work through and being together seemed to give those issues a chance to breathe and be dealt with.
All of the books in this series have had intriguing storylines. I recommend you pick up this one along with the others! I look forward to reading what Lynda Aicher comes up with next!
This is the second book in the Boardroom Series that I have read and must say, although I am not a big erotica reader, I did really enjoy Kennedy and Matt's story. I really did enjoy the dynamic the author built between these two and loved the connection they shared
Matt Hamilton was your typical ex-military guy but I instantly fell in love with him. He was an Alpha male but he was tender and caring and he was a great dad, putting his kids first before himself. I loved that he had the Alpha side to him but he didn't show it or use it much, he was just the perfect amount of Alpha and Teddy bear all mixed into one.
I loved Kennedy's sassiness and loved how strong of a female character she was. But I also loved that although she was seen as such a confident woman, she also had her moments of weakness especially when it came to Matt.
I must say the chemistry between these two was instant and off the charts hot. The scenes happening between them were definitely panty wetting. The only thing I found with their story was it felt a bit insta-romance. There was great story, especially happening between these two but their love for each other, especially with not really having much history in this department, felt like it happened too fast and I think this mainly was due to us not see a lot of time in the book where they were not having sex, the time seemed to jump when they were just hanging out or having lunch, I would have loved to seen more of that as I think it would have help build there connection on that "Love" level
Overall a really great and scorching hot read. This lady knows how to write some hot hockey hunks but she truly knows how to write her scorching hot boardroom romances as well
Conferences are so boring, but when Kennedy Keller meets Matthew Hamilton, things start to look up. Thrilled with a night of hot power exchanges and anonymous sex, Kennedy finds herself wishing she'd have gotten Matt's number, because she sure can't get him off her mind. Luckily, he begins infiltrating every aspect of her world…including her exclusive sex club, The Boardroom.
Matt's whole life has been about his two kids. Raising them alone wasn't a walk in the park, but he wouldn't change it for anything. He doesn't expect Kennedy and the desires she unleashed in him, desires he long thought banished. As the two get to know each other, they both find it harder and harder to stay away…can the two find a balance between their D/s play, romance, kids and a potential business relationship?
Helloooooo mama! This. Book. Is. FABULOUS, y'all! It's been so long since I've read a book that got me a little hot under the collar, but STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL, book 3 in The Boardroom series, was ev-ery-thing! Kennedy and Matt's first anonymous encounter? Shut the front door, that stuff was off the charts delish! Authors, take notice, THIS is how you write a hookup scene! The chemistry between Kennedy and Matt was heady, and I'm pretty sure I drooled a few times at their shenanigans. My only beef? This is my first book in the series! Why didn't I know about this before? Off to remedy that right now…you should do the same!
Bottom Line: no real OM/OW or sharing just exhibitionism and voyeurism; mixed condom use; mild BDSM/kink (D/s play); no sexual assault; no violence/murder.
Lynda Aicher is back at The Boardroom with Strictly Confidential. In this installment, VP, all business Kennedy Keller steps out of her comfort zone and has a one night stand after a business conference. Little does she know that fate has played a trick on her and the man she never thought to see again, Matt Hamilton, turns up as a participant in one of her scenes at the Boardroom. Matt, a dominant who has repressed his needs to take care of his kids, is determined to make Kennedy his own.
Lynda Aicher has a really nice touch when it comes to creating characters that while they may be different from you in all respects, you can still identify and relate with them. Kennedy is the only daughter of a hard driving father. Her need to succeed in a business mostly fielded by men makes her work harder and longer than anyone else. Her one need for control stems from this but is misplaced. Matt is a man burned by his needs and those of his selfish ex-wife. Left to raise his children on his own, Matt is especially relatable as the single parent who sacrifices all to make a life for them.
The story moves well with a perfect balance between the leads learning about each other and taking the tentative steps toward a relationship and the steamy scenes that are a hallmark of an Aicher novel. Though not exactly BDSM, there is power plays and voyeurism. Matt and Kennedy have immediate chemistry and the side characters of Matt's children, Kennedy's father and Trevor (the owner of The Boardroom) add to the story nicely and round out a great read.
This was a great book to read to get me out of my reading slump, coming in at 284 for the mass paperback this is a fast read. It starts almost immediately with some sexy action, which is what you'd expect from an erotic romance. Both the leading woman and man are interesting characters, though wildly different in different ways. They come together on a business conference and neither can let the one time encounter go. A chance meeting in The Boardroom brings them together again, to both of their surprise. They tread carefully and almost reluctantly start a relationship. It's new territory for both of them so you can expect some mishaps and an incident that threatens what they've worked so hard to build.
Things I really liked are definitely the sex scenes in the book. There are several so if that's your thing you won't be disappointed. The only thing I found tough to chew was the incident that plays as the major conflict in the book. I didn't totally understand the situation or why each person felt the way they did but that is on me, I don't know if other people would wonder about that. I liked this book enough that I want to read the rest of this series and I'm definitely interested in Lynda Aicher's other books. This is book three in The Boardroom series but it's a stand alone, you don't need to read the others to be up to speed in this one. It's a great read and I definitely recommend it if you like the erotic romance genre, or maybe you haven't read any and would like to start.
Strictly Confidential is the third book in the "Boardroom" series. I did read the novella that started things out, Done Deal. So I understood the basic premise of "The Boardroom". Basically, it's private club of people who like to explore their kink side in a safe and private environment. The name comes from them using boardrooms of the members after hours. Scenarios are set up ahead of time and rules are set into place. This book features Kennedy and Matt. They have a semi anonymous one night stand and days later they end up in The Boardroom by coincidence. They find out their one night stand wasn't enough for them.
This book kind of confused me on a few levels. I didn't mind the club idea too much because it was all consensual. If that is your thing , then go for it. But I was confused by Kennedy and Matt in regards to what they wanted in their relationship. He was a dom, but didn't want a sub and she liked to give up control but wasn't a sub? The back and forth of all of that ended up being a bit too confusing. While I liked them together and as individual characters, the insta-love was too quick for me. What I loved most about the book was Matt's relationship with his kids and mother. I loved those moments in the book.
In the end, this was just an OK read for me. I may pick up the next one. What I really want is to know what is up with Trevor and Dani. That is the story I want!
Life is about power—who has it, who doesn’t.
Matt Hamilton spent years fighting his urges and pushing his need power and control to the side until he met Kennedy Keller.
Matt and Kennedy are both at a business conference and after meeting in a bar end up having a one-night stand. They don’t exchange any information other than their first names, because they never expected to see each other again. Things don’t always go as they are planned.
Both Matt and Kennedy are members of The Boardroom. Kennedy sets up a solo scene in The Boardroom, in order to escape the man haunting her dreams. Matt, ends up being on the male participants that is watching her, and to everyone’s surprise is invited to participant in her scene.
I am a huge fan of The Boardroom series. Matt and Kennedy’s story may be my favorite. The instant chemistry between the two was amazing and following them through the journey together and individually was beautiful.
The secondary characters in this story were also great. Kennedy’s father and Matt’s children and mother also added to the story and the personal growth of the main characters. Of course, we did get more of Trevor and there is Kennedy’s best friend Dani.
I am looking forward to the next story in this series and hopefully, learning more about the founder of The Boardroom, Trevor.
I don't often make the foray into erotica. I don't know why erotica must always = BDSM. Something about this book caught my interest and when all is said and done, I actually enjoyed it.
What I really loved was that Kennedy wasn't a sub. You have no idea how happy that made me. I also liked that these characters weren't twentysomethings. That was absolutely amazing. I also loved that Matt was a father and that his kids are older, 15 and 19 respectively.
Oh and there was an actual plot, something I find lacking in a lot of erotic erm..romance.
So I was more than pleasantly surprised at this story. I loved Matt's kids and I liked Kennedy's issues. I liked that Matt's kids cared about him and his relationship and that they worried about him. Even better, I liked that a relationship built between them, even though I wish there were some more mental connection between them. Yes, they both had high power jobs. Yes, they both were into a bit of kink. I just wish there was something real they had in common.
The sex was smoking hot in this book. REALLY REALLY HOT. It also started pretty early on in the book, from hotel rooms to a super sexy sex club called The Boardroom.
So if you are looking for erotica with a little more story, this is definitely a book to try.
My rating: 3.75
My summary: Kennedy is the Vice President of her family’s company that sells pallets. At a conference in Southern California, her eye is caught by a man across the room that has a commanding presence. When Kennedy later sees the same man at the hotel bar, she uncharacteristically hits on him and, at his insistence, they trade only first names and nothing work related. Matt is a single dad to his kids after his wife abandoned them all twelve years ago and recently purchased a trucking company. After a one night stand, Matt and Kennedy expect to never see each other again, despite being drawn to each other in inexplicable ways, until they meet again, in the Boardroom.
My thoughts: The full length conclusion to the Boardroom series was fine, but it was also my least favorite of the three audiobooks of the series (there are some novellas in the series that don’t have accompanying audiobooks). There’s spice, it was fine. There’s a plot, it was fine. The pinnacle event went over my head, I backed it up like four times to figure out what I was missing and never really did understand what exactly happened. I did really enjoy the narrators though, they were great.
Loved this one! Best in the series in my opinion.
Hot as can be, and the chemistry between this couple (Matt & Kennedy) was pure on every level.
They had such an incredible bond and shared an enviable degree of passion. They had fun and they were open to each other.
I loved that the men in this series are in their 40’s and the women are mature and confident. They hold their own and stand up to the men in their lives. I also love that they have men in their lives that look out for them, respect them, and support them even without romantic ties. The men are real men. Flawed but imperfectly perfect for the women that they can’t live without.
There were cute moments and a few laughs, but the storyline was also serious in tone given that both Matt and Kennedy have been hurt.
Matt is a single-dad and that also plays a role in this storyline. I really enjoyed this one and even wish it were longer. I wasn’t ready for the book to end.
This Boardroom book is the least Boardroom-y you can get. It revolves more around two characters and their relationship than the concept of the Boardroom. Sure, it's there, but it almost feels like an afterthought whereas the others are loud and center. If you were looking for super erotic, you won't get that here. This one is definitely on the romance side instead of the erotica side.
The relationship dynamics were interesting, and the character pairing was unique. We had a man who wants to be in control but refuses because of his past and a woman who refuses to give up control. Our male lead also has kids he puts first. In contrast, our female lead is married to her work. The book revolves around them figuring out how to balance their relationship appropriately, especially for two people who weren't even looking for a relationship.
The book was well worth reading, and if you get the audiobook, you get Aiden Snow. So, there's that. A solid four.
Absolutely wonderful
Lynda Aicher's The Boardroom series is one of the most sensual series I've ever read. Strictly Confidential, the most recent offering is a stand alone read with the quality of writing I've come to expect from the author.
Kennedy and Matt are well fleshed out, realistic characters who have an instant attraction that is simply off the charts. But what makes the story so special is how they each come to explore themselves and what they want from each other and out of life. I thought the secondary characters, family and friends gives the reader additional insight in how the main characters became who they were. I hope there will be many more books in this series, but I can hardly wait for Trevor's (the man who started the exclusive sex group) story.
Another fantastic Boardroom read, this one with a bit of a twist! What a great series!
Kennedy meets Matt at a convention, both bored they decide to entertain themselves. Matt is a rather new business owner, while Kennedy is a step or two away from running her father's business. Wealthy, business like and no nonsense is Kennedy. She's also a member of the Boardroom.
After meeting Matt and unable to shake the feeling she needs a night in the Boardroom. As always Trevor is present and on that night a newly invited member is also there, Matt. From there the story just explodes off the pages and twists and turns abound. It was an amazing story and not to be missed. I'd give it more than 5 stars. Well deserved.
