Holiday Date

Rate this book
Relationships are tested in this highly anticipated sequel to 'Blind Date'. (Includes BONUS chapter)

Jenny is back in this romantic comedy, and this time she has her man. Life is wonderful as she switches her sex dreams for the real thing with her hunk, Zack. As well as feeling loved up, she must also console her recently-single best friend, Sarah. Those much-loved blind dates make a welcome return as Jenny gets the sweet taste for vengeance.

After a girly holiday to Rome, and a somewhat unexpected vegan experience, Zack whisks Jenny abroad for a romantic holiday of their own. However, jolly holidays aren’t on the menu when faced with a twenty-something stunner in the next villa.

Holidays take the centre stage for this sequel, where relationships are put to the test, at home and abroad.

Also includes a bonus chapter.

5☆ Uplifting, Fun, Entertaining, A lil bit of Escapism!

The Holiday Date was such a Fun, Uplifting, at times Saucy read that I couldn't put down!

This is the second book in the series, and although you dont necessarily need to read them in order I highly recommend you do as they are so good I wouldn't want you to miss out!

Sarah is gilted by ex fiancé Max.
So her best friend Jenny helps organise a
girly holiday to Rome to help take Sarah's mind off Max.

Whilst Jenny is pining for her hot, sexy Boyfriend Zack, who she left at home looking after Bing her adorable Fur Baby!
Sarah is making the most of her new found singleton status by taking her mind of Max, with Sexy Italian Alessandro.
After all it's just a holiday Date.
Will Sarah ever find happiness and love again after Max broke her heart and took her home away from her!

It was so lovely to catch up with Jenny and Sarah. It was nice to see that this time round it's Sarah on the dating scene and not Jenny, after all she definitely had her fair share of disastrous dates in the last book before she found Zack!

Holiday Date is a story of friendship, relationships, the Ups and Downs of dating and moving on, love and travel.
The holiday settings were absolutely stunning, Ioanna transported me into the heart of Rome which was perfect as it's on my places I want to go.
Oh and a word of warning the delicious food will make your tummy rumble!
Once again the characters are wonderfully written, relatable, endearing and felt like friends.

Holiday Date is uplifting, entertaining, heart warming, and lots of fun. I think this is my favourite of the two books.
Once again Debbie Ioanna has written another gem of a book.
It had me giggling out loud, smiling, turning the pages into the night and certainly left me wanting more!
I really hope there will be a third book on the horizon!

Thank you to Emma at Dampebbles Tours for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

HOLIDAY DATE: Book 2 of the ‘Blind Date’ series by Debbie Ioanna is a contemporary romance/romcom which picks up with Jenny’s life nine months after the end of Blind Date. I would recommend reading these books in order. They are not long and they are easy to read.

Jenny and Zack are still together and very happy She is helping Sarah get on with her life after her parting with ‘The Wanker’. They take off together for two weeks on a girls only holiday in Rome.

Sarah is living with Jenny until she finds a new house and for just a little bit of revenge, Jenny makes Sarah sign up on the same dating app she made Jenny use. They keep their code word for rescues, but Jenny is just a little slow in responding. Turn around is fair play. After one disastrous date, a new name pops up on Sarah’s app, but how can she break it to Jenny?

When Sarah moves out, Zack moves in. Zack decides to invite Jenny on a holiday for the two of them and his parents at his family’s villa in Greece. What Jenny was not counting on was the beautiful blonde twenty-something in the neighboring villa who is much to familiar with her boyfriend.

I enjoyed this follow-up to Jenny, Zack and Sarah’s lives. While there are funny moments, this book is more about Jenny and Zack’s romance and Jenny and Sarah’s friendship. Not quite as laugh out loud funny as the first book, but I still loved catching up with Jenny’s life. Jenny is realistic and relatable which makes me want to be her friend, too. Bing Clawsby is also back. The plot has a few surprises in store for the reader that kept me turning the pages. The additional chapter added after the end of Holiday Date will finally answer the question of – What went so wrong on Jenny and Sarah’s trip to Zante? It ended the book on laugh.

I recommend this continuation of the Blind Date series and I am hoping for many more!

Jenny is supporting her best friend with a girly holiday.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Jenny's best friend Sarah was dumped by her cheating-scumbag-ex-fiance. To try and make her feel better, they take a girl's holiday to Rome.
Jenny knows that her own boyfriend is completely perfect in every way. This little sojourn apart seems to confirm that Zack is amazing, and that they should take the next step of living together and meeting each other's families.

I liked this little book. Ioanna has a flair for humour, and making something ordinary and mundane seem very sweet and interesting.
Jenny's life is not flamboyant, but she is a very likable main character. She's very realistic and I felt like she could be one of my mates.
It was really sweet watching her support her friend Sarah, as she finally finds her confidence again after being dumped for a newer model. And it was funny to see Jenny get her own back, insisting that Sarah had to try online dating, too!

This was a short, fun, holiday read!

I have been blessEd to receive this direct from the author as I am a big fan of herwriting pre release date.
Wow wow wow once again Debbie Ioanna does not disappoint. I read this quicker than Blind Date the first book in this series. I loved how it captured me from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down. Both funny and with so much love to give within friendship and romance. Completely worth a read. A nice steady easy read. I hope there will be a book 3.

Nice follow up to the first book in the series. Easy to read, think it took me less than two hours. Great holiday story, just a light hearted, funny book which will have you having a little chuckle to yourself and always a fondness for the cat :)

Holiday Date is the follow up to funny and heartwarming Blind Date and I couldn't wait to get stuck into whatever shenanigans Jenny had been up to.

As we know in Blind Date (the first book in this series) Jenny's best friend Sarah was dumped by her cheating-scumbag-ex-fiance Max. In this book we join the best friends as they embark on a girly holiday to Rome to try to cheer Sarah up.

I enjoyed exploring the ancient city of Rome with the duo - Ioanna has a real flair for making you feel like you're right there with Jenny and Sarah - walking the cobbled streets, drinking wine and enjoying chocolate biscotti.

Jenny had some serious dating disasters in the first book so I was really pleased that Jenny and Zack were still together - he was her dreamboat ultimate crush and is now her fully fledged boyfriend.

But as ever with Jenny her love-life is never plain sailing, she goes away with Zack for two weeks to his family villa and Jenny's green eyed monster threatens to split the couple up.

Will Jenny and Zack survive two weeks away together and finally move in together?

Just before the holiday Jenny and Sarah had a major bust-up - can their friendship ever be repaired or is it all too much water under the bridge?

As with Blind Date I really enjoyed Holiday Date.

Although it didn't have me laughing out loud as much as the first book I still really enjoyed catching up with the characters and enjoying the drama!

Ioanna has a flair for humour, and making something ordinary and mundane seem very sweet and interesting.

Jenny's life is not flamboyant, but she is such a likeable main character - I could see myself being good friends with her.

It was really sweet watching her support her friend Sarah, as she finally finds her confidence back after the ultimate betrayal from Max. And it was funny to see Jenny get her own back, insisting that Sarah had to try online dating too - with some disastrous dates of her own.

This was a short, sweet, fun read.

Read on to the bonus chapter - we finally find out what went down during the infamous Zante holiday!

Holiday Date starts right where the first book left us with Jenny finally hooking up with her longtime crush Zack and her BFF Sarah facing a heartbreak from her cheating fiance Max.

This book begins with a super funny and adventurous girly holiday as Jen takes Sarah to Italy where they are eating too much chocolate biscotti and walking too many miles just to burn off what they eat. Sarah has to get through her broken heart and get back into dating and Jen would do her best to make her best friend happy again!

Meanwhile Zack and Jen are developing in their relationship and it's so cute, what they have. I can't help making 'Awww' sounds throughout as I swooned over their flirty romance and the cheesy ending.

Totally entertaining, this sequel to the Blind Date did not disappoint. Blind Date was by far the best book I've read in 2020 and had high expectations for the book 2. Happy to report that it is recommended to read both the books to get the complete feeling!

Debbie Ioanna aces the Romcom Genre yet again. She writes heartfelt, honest-to-God characters especially women which makes it very relatable and hilarious at the same time. She's high on my list of romance authors!

Many thanks to the author for my advanced copy. All opinions are honest and solely mine.

A brilliantly funny read. It was so good to be back with Jenny and Sarah after the antics, laughs and fun of book one I was eager to see what hilarity befell the friends in book two. I was not disappointed. The author has definitely gone to new levels of utter, shameless embarrassment and humiliation. One particular disastrous date had me sniggering for a good while and with good reason. There are some low moments but they are heartfelt and fit the story's dynamic. My favourite character Bing the cat is back. The naughty little puss hasn't been himself after a mistermina in book one and it was great to see him getting back on form. I sometimes feel the silly cat has more mishaps and disasters than the girls themselves and it only adds to the laughter factor. A really cute, fun, warm, funny and uplifting read. A perfect antidote to lift even the worst of days or moods. If you love a good laugh, enjoy close friendships and mischievous animals you will love this series. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

Book 22 of my Goodreads Challenge 2020

The tables have turned in this second hilarious book by Debbie Ioanna

Blind Date: Book One was a real laugh out loud read, and for many of us very relateable. Being single everyone wanted to help Jenny get herself a date even her mother. Sarah her happily engaged best friend was often forcing her to go on Blind Dates, all of which were hilarious or embarassing disasters.

Now the tables have turned and Jenny is helping Sarah to find a new man. Watch out for Sarah's first date with Nigel I think it is probably worse than any Jenny actually went on. If you have not read Book 1 then I highly urge you to do so. Hilariously funny. Happy Reading.

This is a really sweet book to read. It's the perfect book to enjoy on a Friday night with a glass of wine. it's like joining a group of old friends and listening to them regal their hilarious tales of mishaps, triumphs and fears. Perfect for the introvert book lover who needs that extrovert boost through the pages of Holiday Date.

Debbie does a wonderful job of writing Jenny and Sarah's relationship endeavours, I can't wait to read the 3rd book!

The wise-crackin’ Jenny is back in book 2 of the Blind Date series with her new beau, Zack, her best friend Sarah, and her crazy cat Bing.

Jenny and Zack are extremely happy meeting the parents and making new plans. In fact, they are taking a holiday in Crete with Zack’s parents and family friends including Chloe, the twenty-something young nubile beauty who seems a bit chummy with Zack. Of course, Jenny’s insecurities start to eat at her and her regular comical self becomes riddled with doubts. After all, her best friend, Sarah, just threw her for a loop by revealing a secret right before Jenny left on vacation.

I love Jenny and Zack’s relationship which is comfortable and filled with mutual respect. Thank goodness Jenny is no longer on the dating scene with those cringe-worthy dates, but she has convinced Sarah, as payback, to get out there after her douche of a fiance dumped her. Needless to say, poor Sarah has some awkward and embarrassing first dates which are hilarious. As for my favorite character, it would have to be Zack who is very thoughtful and would do anything for Jenny. His parents are awesome as well.

Overall, this is a fun and uplifting sequel to book 1 which follows Jenny’s happy relationship with Zack and her support for Sarah’s new life. A funny and fast-paced summer read.

Thank you to Ms. Ioanna for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

If you didn't see it check out my review for book 1 - Blind Date here which tells all about Jenny working her way through some disastrous dates to find the one.  Holiday Date works completely as a stand alone but you're missing a treat by not reading both.

What I love the most about Holiday Date is that the book is about friendship as much as it is about romance.  Sarah and Jenny have such a brilliant relationship and have seen each other through a lot.  The first half of the novel is set in Rome as the girls take a short break together.  Filled with Italian charm (in the form of historical sights and a hunky man), delicious food and a few amusing incidents, I could have actually read a whole novel about their trip.

The second half of this short novel tells of Zach and Jenny's first holiday abroad together at his parents' villa in Greece.  Suddenly Jenny's insecurities come out making it not quite the relaxing trip she had in mind.

Debbie writes characters that are so realistic and grounded.  If they don't remind you of yourself (I'm a Jenny) then they will remind you of a friend.  Down to Earth and at times hilariously disastrous,  they are just binge-worthy and the only complaint I have about these novels is that they end.

Fancy a bit of romance, travel, comedy and friendship?  This is where you will find it.  I love this series and I'm really hoping there's a third book coming.  Highly recommended.
