Two has struggled all his life to fit in. His own father didn’t even want him, and walked out on him and his mother. As a result, he’s always believed that if a father isn’t willing to be front and center for his children, then he shouldn’t have them. Being a father is a gift that should be valued above all else. So, imagine his utter shock when he’s told that somewhere out there, he’s got a son. And that son is all alone in this world. The moment he hears the news, everyone and everything else falls to the wayside. He’s going to find his son — now — and nothing will stand in his way. Unfortunately, one of those things that gets left behind in the mad rush, is Shauna. And after being thrown aside this time, she swears it’s the last time.
Shauna is living in Alliance, working as an administrative assistant. She’s happy with the exception of one thing. The male she’s set her sights on, fell in love with at first sight, doesn’t seem to feel the same way she does. She was drawn to Two the first time she ever saw the big male. He’s not like the rest. He’s simple, and good, and… happy. Only now, she’s thinking she completely misread Two’s intentions. He’s stood her up before, this was his last chance. She’s done. She deserves someone who wants her as much as she wants them, and obviously Two doesn’t feel that way.
Two’s son is out there somewhere alone in a system that despite its good intentions isn’t always able to provide for the kids that have no choice but to depend on it for their very survival. But his life is about to change. There’s a male on the way, and this male will never allow him to be alone, or mistreated again. This male would give his life for him. And he just may have to do that. But Two might not have to fight alone, if he’d just open his eyes and take notice of those around him who are willing to stand with him.
Warning: This book is intended for mature audiences. This book contains violence and intimate situations that may be disturbing for some readers. If you are offended by these subjects, please do not buy this book. While some aspects of this series and the beginnings of the world it is set in are dark, this series is ultimately a tale of survival, revenge, healing, and love.
I write Paranormal, SciFi and Fantasy Romance. Why, you may ask? Romance, because who doesn’t love a good romance, and the lack of reality in the story lines - because, well, normal is highly overrated. I’m 55, I have two kids, one 32 and one 12 (yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband, and a menagerie of animals. Literally, too damn many things that eat wandering around our property. I love to cook, and I am a voracious reader, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I am a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I started letting them out into the real world and surprisingly, people have loved them. I am a Self-Published Author, and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that naturally flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please be sure to read the warnings supplied with each of the synopses about my books before you buy them. I've got three series published at this time, Avaleigh's Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - a SciFi, and three more in process. I’m a bit sarcastic, scathing actually, and a smartass to boot, so if I offend you, it is most likely not intentional. But be prepared because it probably won’t be the last time. I’m always glad to hear from readers; those who have followed me from the beginning, and those who have just found my people. So feel free to look me up and say hello, or just follow along; either way, I’m glad to have you.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💙🖤💚💜❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎 Character development: 😔😅😂🤣🥰
The Hero:Two - he was in the special forces in the military and was put into an experimental program to create super soldiers. He went through torture, abuse and genetic manipulation until he was freed. He is now considered a Variant (no longer fully human). He was part of the first group of Variants and was on SOT Team Alpha while they rescued more of their kind. Though he decided to quit that work and now he delivers packages to all the residents of Alliance Ranch (where all the Variants live).
The heroine:Shauna - she was held in one of the experimentation facilities and was a Reward for the Variants. She now lives on the Alliance Ranch and works at the administration office. She has had a crush on Two for a while and they have been trying to date but haven’t been able to work out a good time to get together yet.
The Story: Just when Shauna and Two have a big date scheduled and he is cooking her a big chili dinner. However, Lethal and all the rest of Team Alpha stop over at Two’s home and give him some news that he has a child that he never knew about, and that boy has been living in foster care since his mother died when he was a baby. Two and the team immediately take off and go get the boy, which causes problems with Shauna since Two stands her up for their date and causes problems with Social Services since they basically kidnap the kid from his abusive foster home.
I have to say, this was one of the most heartwarming stories I have read in a while. I mean how great Two was with his son, and how he bought him everything he needed, and spent time with him and how they bonded so quickly. It was so great that you just knew that something bad had to happen. But I loved it. I liked Two from the very beginning of the first book in this series and couldn’t wait for his book and it didn’t disappoint.
There were also some side storylines about Ice and the blonde woman who was sick in the last book and how she had some connection to Feral. That was really interesting and though Ice was very possessive and dominant, he was so gentle with her. I have liked Feral from the first also, so I was hoping he would have his own book, but I don’t see one yet. I hope Sandra Neeley is writing more books for this series.
Honestly, this book is FULL of so much! It's brimming with characters and stories yet to be told. If you didn't start at the beginning, please go back to book 1. It's well worth it! In Variant 4 we finally get Two's story. It's a tear-jerker and oh, so sweet. This is truly a slow-burn romance between Two and Shauna. Add in Two's son, Benjamin, and you get a new family that will give you all the feels. This story was funny in many places, lets us check-in with a lot of Variant favorites, and is a special story about family. Neeley kept me turning pages every single chapter. I simply loved it! 5 Stars!
Outstanding reading! Two is a unique male. Unlike the others, he never forgot his past. I’ve been wanting to have Two’s story for some time now, and it goes above and beyond my expectations. I cried in parts - with sorrow, and again, with joy. Two, his son, and Shauna are fantastic together! What a wonderful, new family. The author touches base with others we’ve met in previous books, and has introduced some new individuals in whom I’m very interested. I can’t wait to see whose story comes next! Thank you, Ms. Neeley!
I have so much love for this series, Two is definitely a favourite character of mine, he is such a good male and so likeable.
Two had such a hard time when it came to expressing his feelings for Shauna they both struggled with communication when it came down it. They tip toed around each other and it was really sweet but a little bit infuriating at times.
Shauna and Two's story was intense and utterly captivating, I just loved them together. They are perfect for each other and the love they share for little Benjamin melted my heat.
There are a lot of characters I'm dying to know more about and a lot of retribution still to dish out, so I can see some fantastic stories heading out way.
Ok, this series gets better and better. I am tell you to start the first book if you haven't. Sandra Neeley has a new fan (that's ME).
You have the main male and female characters. I got into the story telling them watch out. You KNOW whose behind this. With that being said, let me tell you a bit about the story. You have like I said male/female lead characters. You have a sweet boy in there too. The support characters plays important roles that also leads up to the next book. Lets not forget the bad guys which are really bad/evil. If I tell you any more it might spoil the story
Less dark than the first books in this series; a darkness that thankfully set this series apart from others. That said and while I kind of miss the dark, by definition, the evolution of the Variant society means a dynamic world order. And in fiction at least, the good guys make positive gains, so I can work with it.
As long as the arc keeps separating the human wheat from the human chaff, I'm there for it.
I can't say enough about this series, and Two's story just adds to it. I get pulled into their world, and feel like I am right there with them. I am only going to say that I loved this story, and would recommend it to anyone. I don't want to give away to much of the book with my review. These stories are written so great; you feel like you know each character and live right there with them in their world. Love It.
I love this series. However, I would have liked more action. The Variant have enhanced abilities but we never get to experience them. Lethal and his team are out there hunting but again nothing significant happened.
I loved Benjamin Jr. I loved his relationship with Two. I was happy that Two and Shauna were able to make it happen finally.
I look forward to reading more about the potential new couples!
You get all the feels in this story. Two is an amazing male, I knew his story would be epic and it was so easy to fall more in love with him. Benjamin and Shauna are his world and he fights hard for them both, and finally starts to see that he is a good and deserving individual. I'm excited to see who we hear from next. Sandra never fails to wrap me up in her words.
This story made me laugh and cry and shout .. Two ( AKA : Benjamin ) and finding out he has a son and the stuff they go through is so so much heart and soul add into it misunderstandings with his girlfriend Shauna.. oh boy did I cry .. but it keep me up late into the nigh to finish this book it was a page turner...It is another great book from Author Sandra R. Neeley love her books can't wait for who gets their story next .
I’m really loving this series and how each male gets their hea. The characters are all well written and it’s great that they all reappear in each book and you get to catch up with their lives. New males are introduced with snippets giving an indication of what they are upto. In this book we see more of Brutal, Law, Ice, Steel, Scorn and Hermit (he sounds fascinating) can’t wait to read all their stories. Please write faster!!!
There it’s so much to say about this series, each character and couple bring so much to the storyline it’s had to pick just one, ! Although my favorite out of all of them is Lethal and Nina the two deadliest and snarkiest that started it all, I’ve come to love how all of their stories build and interact to make this series a hard to put done read. It’s so worth my recommend !
Two was a very good story. The wrier always brings you into her world and makes you feel like you can touch her characters. Two just found out he has a son. He didn't know he had a son and now he is going to get him and bring him to alliance
The son Benjamin is very big for his age and gets picked on. Well no more. When they get back home two realized he forgot dinner with Shauna. The story made me laugh cry, scream and I think have just about every feeling there is to have.

This tale was not only about Two. There were many facets to this tale. I really enjoyed reading about Two and how he is making his way back to a new type of reality. The author is beginning to bring other Variants into new relationships and show how they have changed but how they are evolving. I love this series and I’m looking forward to the next one to read.
OMG Sandra has done it again. Two is one of my favorite characters in this series and this story for him...of him is unbelievable. I cried and laughed. I can't wait for the next book in the series. This one was so well written and kept me turning the pages. I didn't want it to end. A must read for sure. 5 stars.
This book just grabs you by your heartstrings and pulls you in. Two finds out he has a son and immediately goes to get him finding him in a terrible Foster home he removes him. Shauna gets lost in the shuffle and a misunderstanding occurs which is sorted by Two's son. Everything turns out right in the end.
Oh my gosh Shauna and Two's story was so sweet. Some parts just made you cry and laugh. Oh my (satisfied sigh here). I loved all the side stories that started too. I can't wait to read them all lol. I really love the overall storyline and I really am looking forward to wherever its going. I would highly recommend this book and this series.
I really like this series and these characters, but I’m also left feeling a bit unfulfilled after some of them when there’s no villain. It’s a great character story and a journey to overcome obstacles, but I’m old fashioned, I guess, and I need a villain. There is one to this story, but he’s very background in the books. Though I suspect that’s going to change in the next one.
Another great book, really enjoyed it. It was so worth my time & money, can’t wait to start the next one. These stories have everything I love in a series, all aspects of this offering are done well leaving a satisfied experience & happy anticipation for the next book all on Kindle Unlimited so indulge, I know I’m sure glad I did. Take Care & Be Safe
Another surprise again after some negative reviews, gladly to have enjoyed it immensely. I love the idea of connecting with everyone, their lives and soon. Words cannot describe how amazing is the plot and storyline. 💕💕💕I implore you to read the series. I didn’t read the beginnings yet, don’t think I will … But other than that I’m waiting for book 8.
I love this series! The intensity had me on the edge of my seat that I read it in one night! Lost some sleep but I would do it again. I can’t wait for the next one. I would recommend this book/series to everyone. Thank you Ms Neeley
I love the Variant World Sandra Neeley has constructed. Two is such a good man who is a gentle giant who cares deeply for his friends. When he discovers he has a son alone in the world, he and his team go to retrieve the boy. This book has all the feels and it's fun!
Nothing much to say... I love Two, he's my favourite Variant!! If you liked the first three books then this is a no brainer because two is an awesome character!!
I say it again this is the series that all others compare to it is that good! Cannot daddy it enough! Really a spectacular story with writhing that has depth.
Its a continuous battle for these men to be accepted cans to like be their own lives. Add in a son that was never known and you get very over protective group of men.
Discovering that you are a new father and then finding out he has been in a terrible foster home... Two's life drastically changes as he focuses on creating the safest environment for Benjamin. Archery, gardening, routines, it all brings about a change of direction for the 7-year old boy. The fight for his parental rights brings an emotional storm that affects more than just those involved.
