Lorelei is a kickbutt chick! She finds herself in a strange situation and looks for ways to survive. Although I did think it was interesting she automatically assumed she was in danger. Loved her sassy attitude!! She is another curvy girl with a great body image, and the fellas love it too!
Emmett and Dylan are very different styles. Emmett is low key shabby type, while Dylan is all polished business man. Yummy contrasts make a perfect pair! Oh when they go all Alpha, sigh.
The steam is deliciously naughty as always. Plenty of hawt detail to spice things up. Have a cold shower handy!! This is a full menage mating, so expect two guys at the same time.
I really enjoyed this book but Lorelei's past and reasons for getting into self defence are vague. We did not get full details of the event that propelled her in that direction. I thought it would have helped in understanding her motivations.
It is a mixed narrative, so you get all the leads POV. I prefer this style because it gives a more well rounded read.
The end was a touch abrupt, but leaves a thirst for the third sister's story!

Plenty of hawt action if you are looking This is a serial, be aware this is only the beginning, not the full story. It was a quick smexy little read. Plenty of hawt action if you are looking for a steamy book. Most of the book is the sex, with plenty of variety in positions, partners and scenes. The story is light, but it is there, which is more than I can say for most hardcore smexy reads.
Most of the action happens at a steamy sexy club that caters to exclusive fantasies. Amy is looking to explore her sexuality and break out of her mold. What better way than be a voyeuristic play thing as a job. 90% of the book is sex, which is very detailed! If you are looking for a spicy bit of steam, step right up.
Audrey Lusk never disappoints with her husky voice. She really is very well suited to the steamy books! She knows her erotica and how best to hit all the right notes to make a scene sing! Good lordy, you can feel the energy build and ebb in all the right spots!!
I am not sure if I will move on to the next book. While I am curious, I really hate getting my stories piece mail. I will have to think on it before I decide whether to continue or not. ...more

I really enjoyed this and would prefer to listen rather than pick up the ebooks that are already out. The characters here are engaging and witty! I loved the whole family and her BFF Jerry. The romance angle with detective Taylor was cute, especially the playful banter. All those other brothers and her dad were a trip! It was just such fun reading those scenes when they were all together. The whole story is from Aisling’s POV, which limits you to what she knows and feels. I kind of wish we had the other side of the romance in the narrative too. It is typical cozy, only letting you see through the main character. Karen Krause does an excellent job of bringing the story to life. I loved the snark and sass she instilled in her voice to match the attitude of the book. While she has a nice steady pace, I like t a touch faster. Most of the male voices blended together for me, which wasn’t a huge issue but not optimal listening either. In the end she is the right choice for the book because her energy helps move the action of the story. I didn’t really feel the whole mystery angle, it was light on the investigative elements you would expect. I am hoping that changes as the series progresses. I hope those audio are on their way soon! ...more

There are a few poor choices along the way for the girls, and a parent might be concerned about the lack of consequences. From the young reader POV, this is an intriguing read.
It is all from Samantha's POV, which limits you on what you know in the story. You are going to have to follow the clues right along with her. It is a very interesting little mystery with a little ghost hunting in the side. It could have been longer, there was a lot of potential for this story. I wanted to have more detail to make the intrigue greater.
It was a nice read that kept my commute interesting. My niece who is twelve read it as well, she really liked it and is eager to read the next one in the series.
The audiobook is read by the author, which is tricky. I liked her read, I just thought it could have been better. She did well but it was lacking an energy at times. I would be interested in seeing her down the road with more reads under her mic. Her voice is very well suited to the middle grade reads.

I will admit I was addicted to the show and found it a rather entertaining reality show. Holly was not a favorite, but I did not fully dislike her. According to her, from this book, she was playing a part and was not actually obsessed with Hef. Take that as you will, she makes many such claims throughout the book.
It is interesting getting the behind the scenes of the Playboy Mansion and the show in general. It is a very slanted view, Holly seems a touch bitter about things at times. Here is the deal, you are living in this guy’s mansion, he is providing everything for you, and yet you say you feel trapped. Trapped by your own greed or quest for fame? She says she had to stay because she had no other options, um none other than getting out there and getting a job and paying your own way? I just cannot feel sorry for her. You were dating him, so yeah he will expect sex. You are living in his house, so yeah he can make rules for living there. It is the whole golddigger mindset I disagree with. She had options, she decided not to take them, instead she blames the old man for keeping her locked in a gilded cage.
I did enjoy hearing the dynamic of the relationship between the girls. The harem before the show sounded like a group of mean girls vying for the Queen Bee spot. Again, she was in a situation of her making and had plenty of options for an out, she just doesn’t take them because it is easier to be a pampered pet. It was very interesting to hear about the Madame scandal and how many of the girls were involved. Of course, never Holly, she only sleeps with one old man for money.
All the behind the scenes of the show was enlightening. We all know there are things set up just for tv on reality shows. This was no surprise. What was shocking is that the girls were not being paid for doing the show. Ok, I know this sounds like a 360 after what I already said about them being taken care of by Hef. What I am talking about are the union rules that govern TV, even Reality TV. There are set rates they should be paid, however, according to Holly they only received payment for the Playboy shoot and far less than the norm. It would be easy to argue that their wages should have gone to Playboy, because they were footing the bill for everything from room and board to spending money. I am just confused about how they managed things with SAG/AFTRA regulations.
There was one moment in the book that really stood out. The girls were talking to producers about getting paid and signing contracts, they were being “difficult” and were told “you are replaceable.” This is something I highly disagree with, especially because we see how the show flopped later when the girls left. That combination of those three girls really worked, for whatever reason they were entertaining. There was just a natural vibe among them that felt genuine and made you want to watch and route for them, even Holly.
The last part of the book is about how things went after she left the show. An ill-fated romance with Chris Angel, who sounded scary from Holly’s POV. Her own breakout stardom on Dancing with the Stars, her time staring in PeepShow and her own reality show Holly’s World. Through all of her successes she is very I did this on my own, when in reality without having dated Hef, she would not have done any of it. She hates references back to her time with Hef and feels it takes away from her hard fought freedom, again biting the hand that fed her for so very long.
I promise much eye rolling while reading this book. I did the audiobook, because it was something to do on my commute. It is read by Holly, who does a nice job telling her own story. Unlike other celeb bio books, I did not feel like we were pals after the read. She just had too much of a passive aggressive vibe that spilled over into her storytelling. She was also way too concerned in letting us know she isn’t a blonde bimbo, trying to pack as many fifty cent words and smart references in as possible. Is that the real her or a brilliant ghostwriter? We may never know....more

I want to see Darcy and Nick grow as a couple and find out what comes next with kooky aunt Ve. I love all the crafters she has befriended in town, getting their backstories as the series progresses. This book takes more of a turn in things and we learn about Darcy and Harper’s history.
The mystery here felt a bit darker than previous books. There are far more sinister things afoot than expected. There are several breadcombs that drop in this book and I expect will be nabbed in the next book. I am dying to know who the elder is and when Darcy will find out about Missy/Mel being a familiar.
The whole book, as usual, is from Darcy’s POV. This limits us to her knowledge, it kind of makes you a part of solving the mystery with her. This one was pretty obvious from the start, but the getting there was entertaining as always.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Coleen Marlo, who has either gotten better or my ears are used to her. Probably a little of both! She does have a very brisk pace, which I prefer. I like her but of sass for Darcy and she handles character voice changes very well. So many characters to keep track of, it is a wonder she keeps them all separate and consistent!

Turns out it was pretty darn interesting and they were not really bad people. Think of Hell more like Dante’s levels or even partitioned off like in mythology.
When you get Laura and Damien’s stories, you see they are not really evil people. They each made errors in judgement that put them where they are in Hell. I really liked all Laura’s sass and repressed sensuality. When she lets loose, oh lordy! Pair her with a sexually charged shifter like Damiem, whoa mama! The chemistry is combustible and if they were not already in Hell, they would have scorched everything with that sexual tension!
The smexy steam is plentiful and varied!! Fantasy, voyeurism, masturbation and plenty of good ole one on one sexing! A little something for everyone! Be ready for panty soaking detail and have a plan to deal with how hot and bothered this read will make you!
Lauren Sweet is a fabulous narrator who is in touch with her inner naughty Diva! She has a wonderful pace that moves with the story. Plenty of energy, especially on those smexy parts! She does an excellent job with all the voices, keeping the men just gruff enough to feel realistic.
The only “eh” here is that it took quite a while to find out why they were each there, most of the book for her. I just kept wondering why, which distracted me from the story a bit. I was also a little unsure about the whole set up of Hell. Not exactly understanding all the intricacies of the levels and the sisters who maintain them. It would be interesting to see this progress as a series. It has potential for more, especially now that I have a better feel for how things run in this version of Hell. ...more

While I loved the sassy curvy heroine Daniella, I felt the guys were kind of typical. They just missed in the surprise and delight category. Sure they are a yummy double team, but I thought they were a little bland. I think it was all the holding her at bay that bothered me.

It seems an odd jump, with the exception of Gerri, it is different kind of premise. I will have to keep moving forward with the series to see if I like the change. Right now, it is a bit jarring to switch gears.
I can tell you that the girl hasn’t changed, in tried and true Milly fashion she is a curvy gal with lots of sass. Do not get me wrong, I like that type of gal, in fact they are my favorite heroines, the issues is they all feel the same in this series. I would just like a little change up other than a new name and job. Bella and Alyx steam things up right away, boy howdy do they bring the steam!! Ya gotta love a shifter read cause they get to the smexy quicker, it is the whole mate angle. This is a scorcher with detail a plenty!! Get the ice cream, cold shower and snuggle buddy ready!!
I listened to the audiobook, Lauren Sweet is once again the narrator. I have said I the past how much I enjoy her read and swift pace. She never disappoints! I barely have to speed up the read because is pace is so brisk.

All the intrigue from the first two books is coming to a head. This series is fascinating, but a slow build to this point. I have enjoyed all the police procedural mixed with urban fantasy, it has been steady action. This book finally sees us get all of Elron and most of Michelle's backstory. There are still a few mysteries, but generally this finishes up the major plot that started the series.
The romance with the two leads is sweet and a touch melancholy. The whole, his wife isn't really dead thing puts a real cramp in the budding romance. Still it has a nice way of building and giving more of their feelings. I expect the next book will move things along further, still keeping it clean.
For me the big battle was anti-climactic, it just lacked the big bang I had expected. Things seemed to be rather tame really, what kind of bad guy juts stands there and lets the minions do all the attacking? I expected a Michelle vs Demon rumble. Most of the fighting occurred with the supporting characters while the other two kind of watched.
The narration was again great, as long as you speed it up. Jeff Hayes has a way of sounding feminine, but only at the faster speeds. Normal setting for me was weird and tortuously slow. I also think he has a great manner of keeping voices distinct and clear. The men do sound like they are speaking through a tunnel at times. Overall, he does a nice job, I would be curious to hear him read a book where the lead is a male.
I am ready for the next book, sadly it is not yet in audio. Here is where I have to make a tough choice between waiting for the audio and snagging the already available ebook. Decisions, decisions! ...more

I am still digging this series, plenty of intrigue to keep you on your toes. I am enjoying the police procedural feel of this Urban Fantasy. I am eager to see what happens next for Michelle. If you liked the first book in the series, you will find even more to like here.
This alternates between Michelle and Elron, just like in the first book. It helps you really understand each character and the story better through them. I prefer this engaging style. So many plots going on and connecting dots! I adore the energy of this series! I do wish there were more of a flow of information from the backstories, they come slowly.
I was very into this read. I enjoyed the narration by Jeff Hayes, once I sped it up. He does a fantastic job of keeping the voices distinct and easy to follow. I do wish is sounded better at normal speed, however, it just sounds weird. When it is quicker is does sound like a woman and makes for an amazing thing when you realize Jeff is actually a fella. I generally enjoy his work, it is just confusing why it sounds so off at the regular setting.
I had to grab the next book ASAP because this leave you in a little bit of a cliffhanger. Not a nail biting moment, but a serious revelation and a real need to now what comes next!...more

Really interesting would that lays overtop of our current world. It is an Urban Fantasy that weaves magic into our modern world. I thoroughly enjoyed the charterers and intrigue. This is like a police procedural mixed with a fantasy theme. It keeps things moving along at a steady pace. If you do not compare this book to others in the genre, you will find it much more enjoyable.
Michelle is a terrific heroine. She has plenty of spunk and sass! I loved seeing her grow and use her powers against the bad guys! While her backstory is murky, you gets hints along the way. Most of the book is from her POV, which is engaging and endearing.
Elron is a nice foil to Michelle. He is a very old elf who also has a murky backstory. He is a bit slower and less endearing, he does manage to warm you after time. As a hero, he lacks passion, but I have hope. He is the other POV that will guide you through the story.
The action of the story is very interesting, I personally enjoyed the police cases. Great use of intrigue to move things along. I could have used a bit more action, but it does move things along steadily. Lots of supporting cast that keeps things captivating. I found myself eager to see what would happen with all these cases and how they would all play out.
There are hints of romance, but it is all clean and free of smexy details.
I have mixed feeling about the narration by Jeff Hayes. He is a new voice to my ears. At first, I thought I was listening to a woman and man reading, but it turns out they are both him. Kudos on that! There are a few production issues, which may actually be the style the narrator was attempting. The male voices sounded like they came from a tunnel at times. The other issue I had was the pace, I had to bump it up to double speed because the regular speed was torture. It also sounded very strange, not as feminine as when it was sped up. Once it was at the quicker pace, it was a great listen. I am interested in hearing more of him, wonder what he would do with a male lead all the time.

It was a really engaging story with loads of creativity. The way the fairy-tales interlock and the themes displayed were fantastic. This book keeps you jumping form start to finish.
It is all from the POV of Jilly, who is a thief but only to help her family. Not exactly a villain in my book, but definitely in need of a little reform. You can feel class distinctions being drawn from the start of the book. Clearly Royals and Commoners are a little at odds.
Jilly is a very clever girl who actually lucks out by being sent to reform school. It takes her out of her life as a potential cobbler and gives her other options. There are lesson to be learned for sure. Add in a side intrigue and the story flows nicely! This isn't a full on adventure read, but it has plenty of action to keep things on target. I can imagine many a tween loving this story!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Kristin Condon, who does a terrific job with all those voices! The story flows with her voice and energy adding to the authors words. Her pace was just swift enough for a young audience to stay engaged.
I really hope this is the start of a series. It sort of felt that way, so fingers crossed! Great middle grade book I will be recommending to the tweens i work with at the theatre....more

It is a very smexy read, but it could stand on its own with out the sex. I mean, the sex is great and a key point for some elements, but it could be removed and you would still have a fascinating read.
Book One - Born This sets up the whole story and gives you all the exposition about the situation on Earth at this time. Dystopian reads always intrigue and highlight the worst of mankind while also showing the best.
Allora and Cormack have that instant chemistry, which leads them to a bit of trouble. There is plenty of steam, but it is more about that bond forming between them. They are like the Romeo and Juliet of the series.
The story feels slow at times, but once holes are filled in, things really start to pop.
Book Two - Breed This should have a trigger warning, cause there are some deep parts and a touch of detail on some non-consent. Rothguard and Mel certainly go through the emotional ringer. This is by far the most dramatic of the three stories. Prepare for serious angst mixed in with your steam.
This story makes you question why any of them would want to save the Born at all. Aside from Allora, who isn't really even Born, I have yet to see one who is work the effort.
The end of this book makes you eager to hop into he third, to see what the deal is with Issac.
Book Three - Borg Jumping ahead into the future for this book, we have Allora and Cormack's son all grown up. He faces many things both internal and external, in addition to being the leader/savior of all mankind. This is another story that should have a trigger warning, the heroine was raped and we have a few flashback details.
This book also should have been longer. The end felt rushed and was a total fast forward to the end result. All the build of the series on why the Earth stopped and how to fix it, we got two lines of resolution. I wanted more show and less tell in the end.
All three books have plenty of smexy steam and get all the hawt detail you can handle. Definitely hitting the erotic part of things.
Hollie Jackson does a fabulous job with the narration. She has been a favorite for my ears for some time. I always know her reads will be well paced, deliciously voiced and a delight all around. She does this series credit and makes everything gel all the better.
I am intrigued enough by this series to look for other works by this author. She shows serious promise and has a clever imagination!...more

As it turns out it isn’t really either of those things. It is a modern sci-fi that keeps you guessing all the way to the end.
Helen is the main character in this rambunctious read. She is in charge of the narrative the whole time. You only know what she knows and things unfold for you as they do for her. Lots of things to suss out along the way.
Chip seems like a nut, most of the time, but there is a grain of truth in every conspiracy. He runs you on a merry chase, what with his lies and misdirections.
There are time travel elements, that play out with the story, but I don’t want to give that away. Suffice to say, it is a really fascinating twist on the whole theme.
I loved Helen’s sarcastic wit and constantly questioning things. She is a great character, which makes the book engaging. Having such a strong female lead, she needed a foil, enter Chip. He is dopey and cute, which makes him totally endearing! In a way they make a balanced couple. In the end, they are very well matched. Again, trying to preserve the plot and stay spoiler free.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Rebecca Roberts, who is a new voice for my ears. I loved her read and the energy she infuses into the story. Her tone fits the sarcastic lead to a tee. I love a swift pace, she definitely delivers. Her energy adds to the story in all the best ways. I am going to have to look for more of her reads, because she gave me very happy ears!
Overall, this was a great read with many twists and turns. The only disappointment I had, was it was only about the Roanoke mystery in a roundabout way. I can forgive the change of topic, as it was a fascinating story from beginning to end. ...more

I disagree, he is flawed but by no means the opposite of a hero. He will deny being a good guy, but actions do not lie.
First, a bit of annoyance, I read this immediately after the last book that had a line about Gene trying to avoid a human trying to tag his bear. However, this book starts with them not knowing each other. It is a small constancy thing that annoyed me greatly.
Gene is all gruff and grumpy damaged bear. Sigh, yeah he had me at hello! I do love the damaged bears who are all Alpha. He has been working on being a villain, turns out he cannot fight his nature, he is a hero to the core. OMG, love his nickname and how he uses it constantly!! PIMA <3
Vicky is very shy and reserved and not at all a tough chick. She is totally endearing and the perfect match for Gene. HE needs someone to care for and she needs his strength to bring her out of herself. I really think they are one of favorite couples in the whole series.
The smexy stuff is delicious and ever so hawt!! Love it! Have ice cream and a cold shower ready!!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Chandra Skyye, who does very well on the narrative potions of the book. Where I did not enjoy her was the dialogue for the two leads. She tries to go too low and gruff with Gen’s voice and far to nasal and whiny for Vicky. Often she comes off sounding immature because of the narration. This is really too bad, because Ms Skyye has great pace and energy for the other parts of the read. I am not sure how I feel about having her continue with the series. I think she has a great voice, just not enjoying all her artistic choices.
Please let the rest of the series come to audio ASAP!! I can not wait for Brody, so yummy I think!! It is also getting very intriguing with this super secret evil foe!

I was pleasantly surprised with this historical, kind of read. Most of the world building is great, there are several vague spots that make me think it is connected to another series or that there was a prequel I did not know about. I was able to follow, just felt there were holes in the overall background.
Addy is kind of awesome! I love her spunk and sassy attitude. She has been through some trials and tribulations, but she comes out stronger. She is a great character and a joy to read. Her interactions with her cousins and Isaiah are filled with witty banter.
Isaiah is an interesting fellow, his back story feels incomplete. Perhaps it was in another series or will become clearer with the next book. I am trying to understand the whole Reaper world, it was just tough. I loved seeing him grow more social and come out of his shell with Addy and with her cousin Reese.
This is a smexy read, the steam comes in after a nice getting to know you period. There is a fair amount of detail, open bedroom door! Not as much as a full erotic, but enough to make things hawt.
It is a mixed narrative, which really helps you get to know the two leads on a deeper level. They are both complex and have so much going on in their heads, makes the insights very important.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Käthe Mazur, who does a very nice job. This is my first listen from her, so I have nothing to compare it with. I thought pace was steady and she had plenty of energy to add to the read. I enjoyed the levels she added to the voices, not too deep for the men. Just the right touch all around. I would be interested in checking out other narration from her.

Here is the Oh boy, the Daly Way is yummy, naughty and so suspending reality! I loved this series in ebook and jumped at listening to the audiobooks. Here is the thing, as much as I love the stories, I do recognize there are major issues with some events. Super-fast love, jumping into ménage after a day, quickie resolution to the side plot and tons of sex. My response to this is, keep your reality to yourself! I cannot help loving this smutfest of a book, and series!
Rayna is mostly fun and sassy. She is independent and speaks her mind. I love that she jumps into the ménage and has pretty much no regrets. She owns that naughty sexy diva inside! The only complaint I have for her is the too stupid to live decision she makes at the end. Thankfully, she smartens up again!
The fellas are gruff and hot and yummy!! Jaime is the main fella to concentrate on, he is a touch damaged but oh that chemistry! There are three more guys in the mix including Patrick, who is a riot and existing couple Dave and Sean. Very interesting dynamics at play.
Did I mention it is a smexy read? I am talking once things get started you cannot go far without them falling into bed, or on a stack of tires. Wherever the need arises, pun intended! Be ready for loads of hot and heavy action. Maybe you should listen while in a cold shower. With a bucket of ice cream. Oh my!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Tatiana Sokolov, who is fabulous as always. I love her pace and energy through the read. She has a beautiful tone that suits this steamy read. Her characters are distinct and consistent throughout. I do not often feel frisky listening to a woman’s voice, however, she makes you forget you are listening to a chick.
There is just something about this series that is appealing. The books could be longer and more detailed, but I just cannot help being addicted to them! I am ready to get out my GPS and take a forever roadtrip to Daly!!

The world building is brief, but you get a great idea of where things are headed. I was surprised to see things build so quickly in this short book. There are holes, but I am sure they will be patched in the next book.
Laney is awesome in all her butt kicking glory!! She serves some serious attitude! Her banter with yummy detective Troy is super fun. This pairing has potential for many laughs along the way. I am excited to see things evolve in the series. I also love that she is a curvy gal, but she has confidence and there isn't a whole big deal about her being BBW.
It is a mixed narrative where you get both lead’s POV. It helps move the story along and gives the reader great insights. The transitions are smooth and easy, yeah no choppiness.
This is a smexy read, holy hawt-ness!! Get a cold shower, ice cream or your fella ready!! This is a scorcher!! Deliciously detailed and scandalous steam! Ms Carter certainly knows how to deliver the smut! Even if it is only one scene.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Audrey Lusk, who is always great. I have heard her on several other reads, which were terrific, but give her a gal with attitude and she really shines! Her slightly husky tone is perfect for Urban Fantasy! She has a really swift pace, some might need to slow it down to keep up with the action. Great energy throughout the book.
I am so enthralled with this read that I may not wait for the next audiobook! I know the ebook is out, I think I may have to break my general rule and get it now. I just cannot wait to see what will happen next!!

I enjoy this series, it is light fun reading. Sure, at times it feels a bit pattern, which can happen with a premise like this. There is always a sassI enjoy this series, it is light fun reading. This go around, I kind of thought Noah’s Alpha-ness was a touch lacking. He knows she is his mate, but he sits and watches instead of making things happen. Sigh, I prefer the take charge sort. I really like Maya, even though she is kind of the same as every other heroine in this series. That being said, it is still an enjoyable read and kept me plenty entertained. The POV is mixed, so you get to see all sides of the story.
The steam is, as always, on point!! If you are looking for an ultra hawt read, this is definitely a great pick! All the naughty detail you could want drawn out in exquisite fashion!! Oh my, this will get ya all worked up in a jiffy!
Lauren Sweet has been with the series since the start. I like her reads and she has a quick pace. She has a very peppy feel to her voice, which adds to the fun quality of the listen. Her men could be a touch gruffer, but that is nitpicking.
I am sticking with this series, I am just hoping the next book shakes things up a little! ...more
