This book is a very clear indication of Stephen King's personal political bias. The book is so clearly anti-republican that it damages the storytelling. To think that this came from the same author that wrote Salem's Lot, It, The Green Mile, Pet Semetary, The Perfect Storm and more is flabbergasting! This book makes a very conscious effort to attack Republicans and Trump (by name) frequently. I'm 54 tracks into the audiobook and I'm hoping that the story gets good enough to justify listening to all the political berating. So far, it's not fulfilling that hope. I'm glad that I used an audiobook subscription credit for this instead of paying for it.

Robert Dunbar Seeing a lot of Republicans attacking this book because of King's political stance. So, if he were pro-fascist, the book would be brilliant?

Steve B @Rob. No, sir. King did not throw that term around, Emily did. You ridiculous people seem to infect everything, everywhere these days -- can't even read some reviews on Goodreads without running into this political tripe.

Mackenzie Behrle My favorite quote from an NPR article is “King has never been shy about his politics, but Holly is one of his most political novels to date, & it'll surely anger all the right people.” Ha.

carol shewman @Robert, no you fool, it’s not just “Republicans” that are disgusted with the political rant by Mr. King, it’s all of us, both right and left, who came to read a story of fiction in order to escape what has become a nightmare reality only to have said reality crammed down our throats while fools like you find yet another platform to slam anyone who does not agree with your views, or who are just sick and tired of listening to people belittling others who have different views. Grow up. Stop throwing tantrums and educate yourself on the concept of freedom and respect. I’m sure Putin or Nicolás Maduro (Venezuela honey) would welcome you with open arms. Seriously, give Russia or Venezuela a try.

Carol Gibson @carol interesting that you tell someone who has a different opinion than you to go to another country how very tolerant.

Not all of us want pap in our fiction we appreciate some reality in it.

Going through COVID and watching millions of people die while our idiot in chief and the Luddites turned what should have been about public safety into a political weapon was a true horror story. Knowing full well that quarantines, social distancing, masks and vaccines are standard in helping stop the spread of an airborne virus is common medical practice and basic common sense.

All of you who thought differently helped spread this disease and should be ridiculed in books.

The hypocrisy is always so obvious y'all demand respect for your opinions and find it impossible to show respect to others.

Jason "Grow up. Stop throwing tantrums and educate yourself on the concept of freedom and respect."
So if we all start chanting "Let's Go Brandon" and then try to overthrow the Capitol, then we'll be real Americans, right?

Debbie Dyson No Carol, it isn’t all of us.

Robert Creekmore How horrible, bias toward the people who tried to overthrow the government.

Bill is opinion bias now? A novel isn't a newpaper.
