The book covers a wide range of methods (e.g. lifting, shift invariance, multi-scale analysis) for constructing DWTs. The book chapters are organized into four major parts.

These algorithms provide low complexity but cannot guarantee the optimum compression rate. In this work, we try to achieve both the low complexity and optimality of the rate.
