Photos for most owner or operators are available

Over 570 owners and operators have been involved with the Viscount. Some like Capital Airlines (USA) and BEA - British European Airways Corporation operated many while others like Air Anglia operated only one.

Viscounts operated by large airlines who had their aircraft for many years will have painted them in several different versions of their livery.

4X-AVE - Aircraft Restoration & Marketing (ARM) - August 2007 to April 2022

Transferred from DMI Aviation Sales Corporation. Forward fuselage section taken stored in their compound near the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, Arizona 14 February 2014 after the Community College finshed using it.

This compound was formerly used by DMI Aviation (Dross Metals).

It is still in its faded Arkia livery.

Aircraft Summary

Airwork Ltd

This aircraft c/n 403, a V.831, was built for Airwork Ltd as G-APNE and first flew on Monday, 9 March 1959 at Hurn, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.

During its life it was also owned and/or operated by British United Airways (BUA), British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), Central African Airways (CAA), Alia - The Royal Jordanian Airlines, British Midland Airways (BMA), Ghana Airways, Arkia - Israel Inland Airlines, Go Transportation Inc, Pima Community College Aviation School and DMI Aviation (Dross Metals)

Its final owner/operator was MotoArt Studios as 4X-AVE.

Its fate:-

Purchased by Go Transportation Inc for spares recovery and stored at Tucson International Airport, Tucson, Arizona, USA.

Remains donated to Pima Community College Aviation School in 1992 for instructional use, still in full Arkia - Israel Inland Airlines livery. Noted minus No.4 engine on the 23 September 1995.

Moved to K-Tech scrap yard, Tucson International Airport, Tucson, Arizona, USA on 19 October 1998. Broken up with the fuselage split into two sections and the tail removed circa 2000. Nose section noted at DMI Aviation scrap yard, Tucson, Arizona, USA still in Arkia - Israel Inland Airlines livery in April 2003. Rear fuselage section noted at Pima Community College still in Arkia - Israel Inland Airlines livery in April 2004. Forward fuselage section noted at the Aircraft Restoration & Marketing (ARM) yard, formerly used by DMI Aviation (Dross Metals) in August 2007. The forward fuselage section was purchased by MotoArt Studios circa April 2022 but it remains within the ARM compound. Last noted there 24 March 2023.
