Can't add new captions

I can't seem to add new captions in Premiere Pro 2023. I go to the Captions and Graphics workspace, click Create New Caption Track, select Subtitle as the format and click OK. But then there doesn't appear to be an option to start adding captions.

Not sure if I'm completely missing how to add new captions or this is a known bug.

If someone could help, it would be much appreciated.

Screen Shot 2022-12-08 at 10.53.17 AM.pngHi Sam,

Sorry, have you tried transcribing the sequence first? In the Transcript tab of the Text panel, click the Transcribe sequence button. Once the sequence is transcribed, you should be able to make your captions track. Let me know if this advice helps you.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin, thanks for replying.

On the video, there currently isn't a voice over track to transcribe (this will be added later), but I did so anyway as there was a music track. It managed to find a word in the music track, but when I go to the captions of the transcribed sequence, I still can't add any new caption to it.Screenshot 2022-12-09 at 10.26.56.png

Right-click the caption in the Captions panel. Choose > Add Caption After from the shortcut menu. Does that work for you, Sam?

Thanks,
Kevin
