In the last post I explained how to use MFA with the Azure CLI.

However, I didn’t give that user any permissions so I’m going to do that now.

Where to configure permissions on Azure

There are different places where you grant permissions in Azure:

  • In Entra ID (Azure’s IAM service)
  • In the IAM configuration for the specific resource you want the user to be able to access (on the left menu of any service in Azure typically)

Just a bit on terminology I’ll be using below.
