Python is one of the most famous programming languages that can be used in several fields for tons of different tasks, including web applications, game development, machine learning, software development and more. The guide takes the learner through installation of Python, running your first file, first steps towards learning the language, Python variables and basic arithmetic operations, Python data types, Python classes, and so on. Having covered the basics, the author then builds up to more advanced topics. These include different Python functions, Modules, error handling, data visualization techniques and so on.
The author knows his subject well and has put a great deal of thought into his delivery. I like how he organizes the curriculum in a step-by-step fashion, with clear instructions and lots of practical examples and code snippets. Interactive examples give the learner the ability to understand and assimilate the concepts, and this helps to quickly move the learner along the continuum from novice to expert. The ideas are expressed clearly, and the language is simple, easy to follow and appropriate for the beginner like me, now embarking on coding. I became more confident and motivated as I immersed myself into this seven-day journey.
I like how at the end of the program there is the opportunity to test your knowledge. You can create a simple shopping cart program, create a BMI calculator, creator a TIP calculator, create a guessing game, build a calculator program and so on. This helps you to become engaged with hands-on exciting projects.

Only the basics and with lots of whitespace

This book covers the basics of Python. As to whether it will help you get a job as a programmer, it can only do that in the sense that you need the basics before learning more. It has a large number of short examples of code, many are only three or four lines long. The code uses variable names that are pleasantly short, but thankfully not the archaic "foo" and "bar". The book has a lot of whitespace; if you like writing notes in books there's plenty of room for that. There's also the psychological aspect that progress in pages read goes quickly. It has a reasonable table of contents, but no index. The book doesn't deserve a title with "Bible" in it. It isn't a reference for advanced topics. I'll give it 4 stars as a treatment of the basics but no stars as a comprehensive reference.
