Summary

Before joining McKesson, David was Vice President Public Affairs at the Montreal office of NATIONAL Public Relations, where he worked for seven years. 

David previously served as a director of a firm specializing in public affairs, as a policy advisor in the office of the Minister of Health of Canada, and as a policy advisor in the office of the Premier of Quebec.

David holds a Law Degree from the University of Montreal and an Executive MBA (EMBA) from ESG-UQAM. Recognized for his involvement in the community, David has been very active in various social, political and economic organizations. Among other things, he is a member of the Board of the McCord-Stewart Museum and the Board of the Foundation of the College of Nurses of Quebec.

David Veillette is Vice President, Government Affairs at McKesson Canada since January 3, 2017.

David oversees government relations for the Quebec and Atlantic markets, oversees the strategy with the Federal government, on behalf of the following McKesson Canada business units:

  • Distribution
  • Retail & community pharmacies
  • Specialty 

In this capacity, he is responsible for implementing the strategies and actions necessary to achieve McKesson Canada's objectives with the various governments. 

Working closely with Operations (Distribution and Retail), Demand Planning and Procurement, as well as relations with pharmacy owners, he is responsible for driving key workstreams to help McKesson achieve its enterprise-first mindset. 

David's role is also to ensure relations with the main Quebec, Atlantic stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry as well as government relations in collaboration with the Uniprix-Proxim banner managers within the ABCPQ. David is an integral part of the AQDP by sitting on the board and supporting the work of the general manager in external affairs.

Finally, David is also in support for McKesson's Quebec public affairs and communications (active and reactive) as his direct report is also dotted line with Corporate Communications and External communications for the Quebec market.
