- Twenty years ago, after killing his brother, Sardar Rajpal flees from his hometown in Shillong and re-locates in the rural area of Assam along with his adopted daughter, Meena. He asks his wife, Kamla, to send their son, Shankar, so that he can employ him and get him married to Meena. Shankar arrives and he is welcomed by Sardar who employs him and introduces him to Meena. A few days another young man shows up at his door claiming that he is Kamla's son. A baffled Sardar also welcomes him, and puts both the young men under observation in order to find who the real Shankar is. The question remains why would anyone want to impersonate Shankar, and what will happen to Sardar himself after the Police catch up with him for killing his brother 20 years ago.
- Roopa lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad, Captain Suresh, and brother, Shekhar. After she returns from abroad, she is told that she must now prepare to get married to her betrothed, Ratan, who is the son of a close friend of Suresh. Everything changes suddenly when Roopa meets with a handsome young man, Raj, and both fall in love with each other. Raj then breaks her heart when he tells her that his mother, Malti, who works as a maidservant in Suresh's household, has always favored Ratan over him, has made him promise to step out of Ratan's way. Before she could find out whey Malti prefers Ratan over Raj, a bandit, Kala Ghoda, who has been terrorizing the region asks Suresh to pay up Rs.50,000/-. The Police lay a trap for this extortionist and capture him red-handed - and he turns out to be none other than Suresh's Munim. Surprises are in store for everyone when they find out that Munim is none other than Raj, who has been masquerading as the Munim for many years, and may also have embezzled another Rs.50,000/-.
- Shanta (Sadhana) is wealthy Rajbahadur Murthy Sagar's vivacious and uppity, orphan granddaughter. Her character is developed as pretty, haughty, aware of herself and contemptuous of servants. Shyam (Shammi Kapoor) and Shanta have a couple of tempestuous meetings. Shyam, who hails from Allahabad is educated and cares about the wellbeing of his widowed step-mother and wheel chair-bound step-sister Bina. Employed by the Rajbahadur as Manager of his household, Shyam has many opportunities to court Shanta, and he does so with a succession of songs and in style. Shanta however is a misandrist (a woman who hates men) as a result of her traumatic childhood. Rita (Laxmi Chhaya) who has been brought in by the Rajbahadur to help Shanta mend her unmannerly ways has given up and admits defeat. Taming the shrew is a challenge that only Shyam can take up. But how will he deal with a woman who believes in "fall from a hilltop, fall from above, fall from anywhere, but never fall in love"? She even writes up a placard "Men are beasts". Shanta's ego is further stoked by Devdass who serenades her in Scottish attire playing a bagpipe. A road trip in a rare right hand drive open top Buick to a hill station (Khandala) in the Western Ghats is a turning point in Shanta's behaviour. Retired Colonel Jung Bahadur provides a couple of comic interludes and is pivotal as the plot unfolds.
- Khalifa Haroon instructs his daughter, Shabnam, to keep her face in a veil as she resembles Shubi, the region's Shehzadi. With soldiers under the command of Siparsala Zaber terrorizing the folks, a masked man comes out of nowhere to combat them, and people believe that he is the once-dead Zingarro. Shubi is displeased when she finally gets to meet her future husband, Khan Mustafa, as he is a cowardly buffoon. When Zaber finds out that he cannot control the Maharaja and the Wazir, he has the former imprisoned and the latter killed. When he is unable to influence Shubi, he has her kidnapped, and has Shabnam brought to the palace forcibly where he hopes to lure her to become the Shehzadi and marry him.
- Chooriyan is the story of Simran (Gracy Singh), an orphan who has always dreamt of being a part of a family. Her dream finally comes true when Army Office Aman (Sudanshu Pandde) asks her to marry him and she lives happily as part of Aman's family. Aman and Simran cherish every moment before he returns back to his army duty. Before he leaves, Simran makes a vow to him that while he is away, she will always take care of his family as her own. She looks after her invalid father-in-law (Parikshat Sahni) and dotes on her two loving brother-in-laws (Vikas Bhalla and Manish). Aman informs Simran of his plans to come back home on an official visit. Fate has other plans for them. She is informed of Aman's fatal accident on his way home. Her world is shattered as the deep red of the Mehendi that still decorating her hands turns into a deadly shade of white. However, Simran is determined to take care of the family. Despite financial hardships, her two brother-in-laws get married to their respective girlfriends. These wives start to create a rift in the family causing the foundation of the family to crack. Simran and her father-in-law are completely ostracized from the family. With the help of their family friend Besant Singh (Vinod Khanna), Simran starts to regain all that she had lost. Does Simran have the strength to reunite her family? Will she be able to fulfil her promise to her husband or regain all that she lost?
- Concerned about the outbreak of plague in a distant rural village in India, Dr. D.D. Sinha asks a number of prominent doctors to go there and treat the ailing and prevent the disease from spreading. No one except his protégé, Dr. Paras, is prepared to go there. Dr. Paras travels there, works with the villagers to prevent the disease and treats the ailing, and is successful in preventing it's spreading to other communities. He meets with village belle, Lajwanti alias Lajjo, and both fall in love with each other. Paras promises to return back and marry her. Lajjo awaits his return, but he does not return, the villagers taunt her, beat her senseless, she loses her eyesight, is abducted and sold into prostitution. Then one day she gets an unexpected patron, none other Dr. Paras, who is now engaged to Dr. Sinha's daughter, neurologist Manju, and would like to assist Lajjo is getting her sight back. The question is will Lajjo accept any help from a man who betrayed her, and is directly responsible for her present plight?
