Plot: Muncie Daniels is a respected media pundit who thinks he has it all. When he’s framed for the murder of a white supremacist, he must clear his name, protect his family, and unravel a high-level conspiracy before time runs out.
Review: The concept for the hit 1960s series The Fugitive spawned an award-winning box office hit in 1993 starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones but failed to ignite much buzz when it was rebooted on the small screen twice, in 2000 and 2020. While it does not share any official connections with the story of Dr. Richard Kimble and his search for a one-armed man who killed his wife, the new Netflix series The Madness may be the closest anyone has gotten to capturing the paranoia and tension that made The Fugitive so good. Like the paranoid notions that drive their protagonists, conspiracy thrillers are constantly shifting. The genre is remarkably malleable; the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s produced some of the form’s best — “The Manchurian Candidate,” “Three Days of the Condor,” “Blow Out” — each of which iterated on the hallmarks of the form. A good political thriller is often decidedly of the moment, with enough meat on its bones to become timeless as it ages, and there’s certainly no shortage of material to draw on, given our current political climate.
The arrival of Netflix’s “The Madness” couldn’t be more timely if it tried. Anchored by Colman Domingo, the 8-episode limited series created by Stephen Belber and co-showrun with VJ Boyd kicks off its premise in pretty short order: When media pundit Muncie Daniels (Domingo) becomes the prime suspect in the murder case of a notable white supremacist in the Poconos woods,...

“And who am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell.” The identity of the titular character on Gossip Girl became a mystery no more in the TV show’s final episode. But, as an executive producer revealed years later, they wanted Nate Archibald, played by Chace Crawford, to be Gossip Girl.
An executive producer had their ‘heart set’ on Crawford’s character being Gossip Girl
Joshua Safran, an executive producer and writer on Gossip Girl, revealed at the 2019 Vulture Festival that Dan Humphrey, aka Lonely Boy, played by Penn Badgley, wasn’t initially picked as the character behind the mysterious blog that caused so much drama for Manhattan’s elite. Instead, he wanted Crawford’s character, Nate, to be Gossip Girl.
“I like to joke that Dan was Gossip Girl because I had left the show by then,” Safran said (via BuzzFeed). “Dan was not my intended Gossip Girl.

Much has been said about Captain America: Brave New World's supposed reshoots and test screenings; regardless of what's really gone on behind the scenes, we'd be shocked if Marvel Studios risks releasing another Eternals or Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania to kick off 2025.
Beyond the rumours, how non-fans and casual moviegoers react to the new Captain America and the fact screen icon Harrison Ford is playing a Red Hulk will be very interesting.
Now, though, we've learned that Captain America: Brave New World will have some serious competition over Valentine's Day and Presidents Day weekend in North America. Sony has just moved StudioCanal's Paddington in Peru from January 17, 2025 to February 14, 2025.
That's proven to be a good weekend for Sony in previous years as 2018's Peter Rabbit opened with $25 million before hopping its way to a domestic cume of $115.2 million.
The Paddington franchise isn't quite as popular in the U.

The Rock’s Abs Insecurity (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Surprise! Dwayne Johnson, The Rock himself, has a body insecurity—his abs. The guy who could bench press a truck’s a little insecure about his stomach. Cue the shock.
In a hilarious chat with Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt, the duo tackled some of the most bizarre online searches about themselves. And when the question “What’s wrong with The Rock’s abs?” popped up, Johnson’s reaction was pure gold: “F***ed up!” he said, clearly baffled. But then, in typical Rock fashion, he dropped the truth bomb. His abs? It’s not the Insta-perfect six-pack you’re imagining.
Here’s the scoop: during a WWE match, The Rock went all-in and tore the top of his quad off his pelvis. It sounds like a wrestling move gone wrong, right? Well, it caused a chain reaction, including a tear in his abdomen wall.

Imagine this: You’ve spent years creating an epic, world-changing story. Then, someone introduces teddy bear-like creatures that become the comic relief, and, to top it off, they win the day. For Denis Villeneuve, the director behind Dune and Arrival, this was the moment when he stopped dreaming about a galaxy far, far away—and he wasn’t alone. Harrison Ford had similar feelings about the now-iconic Ewoks in the Return of the Jedi.
The Ewoks | Credit: Disney
Villeneuve recently opened up about his zero interest in the Star Wars franchise, revealing a crucial turning point in 1983 when everything went off track—at least in his eyes.
If you’ve ever wondered why the genius behind Dune doesn’t have a Star Wars movie on his resume, here’s the answer: Return of the Jedi—and more specifically, the introduction of the Ewoks—left a bad taste in his mouth.

“Shrinking” star Brett Goldstein said his fellow co-creator and co-star Jason Segel helped him out in a surprising way during their confrontational scene in Episode 8.
“He’s an amazing actor, and he’s also one of the most selfless scene partners I’ve ever known in that he would do stuff when it wasn’t his coverage, when the camera wasn’t on him, he would do stuff to help you,” Goldstein, whom Segel pushed to have play Louis (the drunk driver involved in Jimmy’s wife’s fatal car crash), told TheWrap.
“There’s a scene later in the show, he said things to me off camera that aren’t in the show, but that affected me in a way that was very useful for this. Like he would do things to help. He’s an ego-less, brilliant actor,” he added.

Derek forgives Liz
In the latest episode of Shrinking, which is now streaming on Apple TV+, Derek (Ted McGinley) took a closer look at his and Liz’s (Christa Miller) marriage following her and Mac’s (Josh Hopkins) kiss.
Seeing the dog photos Liz took in Mac’s bar made him realize he’d been overlooking his wife. Because of that—and the delicious beer—Derek decided not to punch Mac. In true Derek fashion, he also told Mac it wasn’t too late to find love.

Remember the 1980s? The decade of big hair, neon everything, and VHS tapes taking over the video shop. Aside from the flashy pop culture, this was also a great time for thrilling, edge-of-your-seat movies. The 1980s provided a wealth of classic 80s thrillers that redefined what it meant to feel suspenseful rather than just keeping viewers wondering. From dark crime dramas to mind-bending 1980s suspense movies that made your heart race, this era became the best place for directors who wanted to try new things and moviegoers who wanted to be shocked.
Why did the best 80s thriller movies come out at such a great time? The genre wasn’t just one thing but a wide range of movies. It had dark, twisty psychological thrillers that peeled back the layers of the mind (think Fatal Attraction), gritty crime sagas dripping with danger, and every once in a while, a heart-pounding story inspired by true events.

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for both "Gladiator II" and "Moana 2."
Two major blockbuster sequels are barreling into theaters this Thanksgiving weekend that, to most normal people, might not seem to have much in common. Sure, both "Gladiator II" and "Moana 2" (with more than a little help from "Wicked") are about to super-charge the box office in a late-year push that theaters sorely need. But beyond the fact that both are bringing in boatloads of fans and both happen to feature curly-haired, shirtless warriors who return years after their first appearance in defiance of gods and men -- okay, yeah, even typing that out makes the latter feel like a serious stretch -- there's not much else to link them together. One is a swords-and-sandals drama set amid the dust of the Colosseum, and the other's an animated Disney movie about a Polynesian-influenced wayfinder who's most at home on water.

In an alternate galaxy, far, far away, the world of Star Wars could have been very different. While it’s hard to imagine anyone but Harrison Ford filling the shoes of devil-may-care scoundrel Han Solo, several other actors were considered for the role. The most surprising may be the guy who voices Sideshow Bob.
“I had just been thrown out of Juilliard,” Kelsey Grammer told Conan O’Brien a few years back. One of his voice teachers believed he had a beautiful speaking voice so she put him in touch with an agent. When Grammer went to visit his new representative, he was immediately sent up the street to meet a guy who was “looking for young men for this movie about outer space.”

In a rumor that's bound to stir up quite a bit of debate, we're hearing that Marvel Studios is developing a solo project focusing on Saba, who will make her MCU debut early next year in Captain America: Brave New World.
We don't have any more details at the moment, but scooper Mttsh believes that there is a plan in place to give Sabra her own spin-off.
The decision to introduce this particular character was met with some backlash when actress Shira Hass' casting was first announced, and the controversy was reignited after the release of the first trailer back in July.
In the comics, Sabra, aka Ruth Bat-Seraph, is a mutant with superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, endurance, and stamina. She first appeared in the pages of The Incredible Hulk back in 1980 as a Mossad (the Israeli Secret Service) agent.
Marvel later revealed that this part of her origin will be altered,...

Actress Kelly Marie Tran has seen a remarkable rise in Hollywood following her rather turbulent stint in the Star Wars franchise. Tran debuted in the role of Rose Tico in The Last Jedi but faced severe backlash from the fanbase. As a result, her character was mostly sidelined when J.J. Abrams returned to helm the final installment in the sequel trilogy.

Don Johnson Never Watched Dakota In Fifty Shades (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Hold up—Don Johnson, the coolest dad ever, never watched his daughter, Dakota, in Fifty Shades of Grey. Seriously. In a candid chat, Don kept it honest: “I would never see that. I wouldn’t see that even if she wasn’t in it. It’s not my kind of thing.” No surprise there—he’s got the ultimate “dad energy,” especially when watching his daughter get intimately tied up in the Red Room. That’s a no-go zone for Don. As he puts it, “As a father, there are certain images you don’t need in your head. I know it’s pretend and make-believe, but you know?” Yeah, we get it, Don.
But here’s the kicker—this wasn’t a random Hollywood dad reaction. Don admits he was surprised when Dakota decided to ditch college to chase her acting dream.

Actor Harrison Ford has been a beloved part of the space opera franchise Star Wars. George Lucas transported viewers to the galaxy far, far away with the 1977 original film and fans have continued to be enthralled by it. However, the long-running series has followed some bizarre unwritten rules to create a unique sci-fi aesthetic of the universe.

During the filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ford experienced a scary injury that might make him weary of at least one of these bizarre rules. As a result, the rule might have been the reason Ford was injured in the first place. Here is what happened to Harrison Ford on the sets of Star Wars because of one of its unwritten rules.

The Apple TV+ comedy series “Shrinking” was well-regarded in its first season, landing Emmy Award nominations for stars Jason Segel and Jessica Williams and a loyal fan base. But even the cast knew Season 2 had leaped in quality.
“I think the writers would agree,” co-star Luke Tennie tells Gold Derby. “At your most critical, you could give the first season, a review of, ‘It’s good.’ But there’s nothing you can say about this second season that’s short of very good. It’s exceptional.”

“I think the writers would agree,” co-star Luke Tennie tells Gold Derby. “At your most critical, you could give the first season, a review of, ‘It’s good.’ But there’s nothing you can say about this second season that’s short of very good. It’s exceptional.”

It really does seem like Marvel Studios is struggling to get Captain America: Brave New World to a place they're happy with - or at least, a place they feel general audiences will be happy with.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, a third round of test-screening for the movie recently took place, and yet again, the feedback was mostly negative. Richtman believes that more changes will now be required, but Marvel may have already taken care of the necessary additional photography.
Reports that the fourth Cap adventure was set to undergo more reshoots were recently confirmed when star Anthony Mackie was spotted shooting new scenes for the movie in LA. There was speculation that these might simply have been a few minor pick-ups, but it's staring to sound like they may have been more extensive.
Is there a chance even more reshoots are scheduled? It's possible, but with Brave New World...

Captain America: Brave New World is shaping up to be an exciting MCU project—at least on paper. The movie marks Sam Wilson’s first solo outing as Captain America, where he’ll face off against Thaddeus Ross’ Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford.
However, the film’s development has been rocky, with controversies, reshoots, and poor test screenings causing delays. Now, it seems more changes are on the way after yet another test screening reportedly didn’t go well.
This update comes from industry insider Daniel Richtman, who shared the news through his paid subscription on X (formerly Twitter).

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is one of the most exciting upcoming MCU projects – in theory. The movie is Sam Wilson’s first standalone movie as Captain America, and it pits him against Thaddeus Ross’ Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford.
The movie’s development and marketing have been fraught with controversies, reshoots, and poor test screenings, and it seems that this trend isn’t stopping anytime soon, as the movie allegedly had yet another test screening that prompted changes in the movie.
This report comes from Daniel Richtman, a notable industry insider and he published this information via his paid subscription on X.

Did Carrie Fisher have an affair with Harrison Ford? (Photo Credit – Wikimedia)
Star Wars’ world-shifting debut in 1977 gave the galaxy more than just unforgettable characters; it also gave us one of Hollywood’s most unexpected behind-the-scenes romances. Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford had a secret affair on set. The truth emerged decades later in Fisher’s memoir The Princess Diarist, where she spilled the galactic tea about their brief but intense fling. The Star Wars phenomenon set the stage for their secret romance. Just 19 and fresh off as Princess Leia, Fisher was wrapped up in a whirlwind with the 33-year-old married Ford, who was already a rising star. The affair was kept under wraps—until Fisher decided to tell the world in 2016. She described it as more of a “three-month one-night stand” with plenty of emotional baggage. According to Fisher, when you’re filming on location, “everything is permitted,” but...

Bad Sisters is back and it’s no “fairy tale” like season 1, according to star Sharon Horgan. The 54-year-old actor, who is also a co-developer on the Apple TV+ original series, says Bad Sisters Season 2 has the Garvey girls facing the “reality” of what’s happened, which was her motivation behind new episodes.
‘Bad Sisters’ Season 2 shows ‘reality’ after ‘happily ever after’
Speaking to Page Six at the Bad Sisters Season 2 premiere, Horgan shared why she wanted the series to return. “As much as I loved the first season and how it ended, it was a bit of a fairy tale,” she said. “You know, like, woman lives happily ever after, [after] offing her other half.”
Set in Dublin, Ireland, the first season followed Garvey sisters Eva (Horgan), Bibi (Sarah Greene), Becka (Eve Hewson), and Ursula (Eva Burthistle) as they tried and failed again and again to kill their controlling and abusive brother-in-law,...

With Gladiator II now in theaters (read our review), many folks have been asking themselves that inevitable question – will Ridley Scott be doing a Director’s Cut, and how much footage will he be adding? Suffice it to say, Scott is truly a pioneer in this regard, as before he started adding footage back into his films and releasing director’s cuts, it was pretty rare. Indeed, his director’s cut of Blade Runner began the trend, especially when the radically different cut became a significant hit on home video and helped the film get rediscovered as a classic.
While not all of Ridley Scott’s Director’s Cuts have been necessary (the one for Alien messes with the mythology established by the sequels), some of the new cuts have been revelatory. Here are five great ones:

Gladiator II Box Office (China): Release Day Update ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Gladiator II had a lukewarm welcome at the box office in China even though the film grossed winning collections in some parts of the world. It is even below The Beekeeper and Shazam 2. Denzel Washington is being praised the most in the ensemble cast headlined by Paul Mescal. Scroll below for more.
For the unversed, it is the sequel to the 2000 historical action drama by Ridley Scott. It was one of the highest-grossing films of 2000. It was also a critical success, winning five Oscars, including Best Picture. Russell Crowe won the Best Actor in a Leading Role Academy Award for playing the role of Maximus. Paul plays the son of Maximus in the sequel and has received good ratings on Rotten Tomatoes as well.
According to Luiz Fernando’s report, Gladiator II collected only $858K on Friday when it opened in Chinese theatres.

“Captain America: Brave New World” is one of the most highly anticipated movies in the MCU. It will be Anthony Mackie’s first solo film as Captain America and will also introduce Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford.
Fans are worried because while Steve Rogers had the Super Soldier Serum, Sam Wilson doesn’t have any superpowers or enhanced abilities. This makes it hard to imagine how Sam could defeat Red Hulk in a direct fight.
Mackie recently said that the key to his success will be in the suit, and now Marvel has shared a new look at how the big showdown might go down.
ComicBook has revealed the cover for Sam Wilson: Captain America #2, featuring Sam Wilson fighting Red Hulk. The cover shows Red Hulk throwing a punch while Sam blocks it with his shield. The battle likely takes place near floating platforms, where Red Hulk works as Head of Security.

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is one of the most exciting MCU releases. The movie is bound to be Anthony Mackie’s first solo film under the Captain America mantle, and it’s also going to be the debut of Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford.
The fans are worried though. Steve Rogers was an enhanced human thanks to the Super Soldier Serum, while Sam Wilson completely lacks any type of superpowers or enhanced physical attributes. This would make it virtually impossible for Captain America to win a head-on fight against Red Hulk.
Mackie recently discussed that the secret to his success will be in the suit, and now Marvel has revealed one more look at how the potential showdown will play out.

When Harrison Ford’s Carpentry Gig Changed His Life (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Harrison Ford as Han Solo? Almost didn’t happen—and it all started with, wait for it, a carpentry gig. Yep, before the Millennium Falcon and space shootouts, Ford was just a guy with a hammer and a toolbelt. Crazy, right?
Let’s rewind to 1973. George Lucas had just dropped American Graffiti, a flick that launched stars like Ron Howard and Richard Dreyfuss. And guess who else showed up? Ford, playing street racer Bob Falfa. The role wasn’t huge, but it gave him enough street cred to land on Lucas’ radar. Little did anyone know that the guy swinging a hammer would end up flying one of the most iconic ships in sci-fi history.
Now, fast forward to 1976. Lucas is in full-on Star Wars mode, but he had one rule—no-repeat casting. He was all about fresh faces,...

Hollywood visual effects pioneer Colin Chilvers, who earned a Special Achievement Academy Award in 1979 for making Christopher Reeves as Superman fly, has died. He was 79.
Chilvers died Tuesday in Fort Erie, Ontario, according to his nephew, Chris Corbould, whose own VFX credits include Inception, The Dark Knight Rises and James Bond franchise movies like No Time to Die and Spectre.
“I am forever indebted to Colin as he instigated the start of my own career in special effects when he invited me onto the set of Tommy in 1974 when I was 16 years old and inspired me to make a career in the film industry,” Corbould told The Hollywood Reporter.

JJ Abrams is recruiting quite the cast for his return to directing, with Samuel L Jackson added to his mystery movie.
There are a lot of reasons to look forward to JJ Abrams’ next project, which is being set up at Warner Bros.
Firstly, a report back in August said it has vibes of The Last Starfighter, a film which has long deserved a remake or revisit of some kind. Rights issues and other problems have long made that wish rather fanciful so a project that channels some of the 1984 film’s spirit, tone and ideas will be welcome instead.

Sam Wilson is a hero, but he is also an ordinary human being. While Steve Rogers had the Super Soldier Serum, Wilson doesn’t have that advantage; And it’s an advantage he could surely use going up against Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World. The power balance feels so lopsided that some fans have wondered just how Wilson will avoid becoming a red stain on the floor after mere moments. While speaking at the Disney Apac Content Showcase in Singapore (via ComicBookMovie), Anthony Mackie addressed how Wilson will be able to fight Red Hulk.
It seems Wilson will be using more brain than brawn, with the added benefit of a Wakandan super suit. “It’s very different with the serum – you can fight anybody. When you don’t have the serum, you have to be smart and engineer different ways of defeating [enemies],” Mackie said. “With Sam, him being a counselor,...

When 1977’s Star Wars came out, it forever changed the lives of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher. But what if the stars had aligned differently? What if Al Pacino, fresh off his legendary role in The Godfather, had accepted the role of Han Solo? Instead of Ford, it could have been the Academy Award-winning actor who would have starred in one of the most iconic roles in cinematic history. Pacino himself has shared the story of how he nearly took on Han Solo, and it’s just as fascinating as you’d expect.

It was the “love of the book” that brought the powerhouse duo of producer J.J. Abrams and showrunner David E. Kelley together for Apple TV+’s reimagining of Scott Turow’s bestselling legal thriller “Presumed Innocent.”
They’d vowed to team up for years, but it took Covid for the stars — and their schedules — to finally align to allow them to put their shared creative talents together. Given health restrictions, studios were looking for projects that could be produced in contained circumstances, so courtroom dramas were a natural place to hunt for ideas. Abrams asked Kelley if there was any book that he’d be interested in adapting, “and the first one that came to mind was ‘Presumed Innocent’,” Kelley tells Gold Derby in our exclusive video interview. As luck would have it. Abrams’ production company had secured the rights years earlier. Watch the video interview above.

The Uncharted series is one of gaming’s most iconic franchises, and Amy Hennig has been at the helm of this success. For a franchise that would become similar to Tomb Raider at the time, the decision to make Nathan Drake the protagonist wasn’t random. It was a choice shaped by the industry’s dynamics and cultural influences.

As the creative mind behind the iconic game, Hennig explained why the lead character couldn’t be female. And it’s not what many might assume. The decision had nothing to do with avoiding controversy or being “anti-woke.” It was simply to not be a “Dude Raider.”

Thunderbolts* is a film that fans have increasingly become more excited about with each successive trailer. Given that the film brings back a slew of fan-favorite characters like Bucky Barnes and Yelena Belova, the film is shaping up to be quite the spectacle, with a few characters that usually wouldn’t be front and center in other MCU films.

One of the characters that is going to make an appearance in the film is Bob, largely considered to be Robert Reynolds or The Sentry. While probably not a one-to-one adaptation from the comics, there might be one big change that the character might adhere to in the films, that might be in line with something that Marvel had been doing in the MCU with other characters.

We have apparently seen the end of the Indiana Jones franchise, as Harrison Ford has stated that The Dial Of Destiny is the last time he’ll don the fedora and whip. Well, it will be the action and adventure franchise’s end unless Disney decides to squeeze every last drop they can out of it, which is never out of the question. Film fans always need something else to fill in their viewing void, so what are the best adventure movies like Indiana Jones for fans of the Indiana Jones series to check out?
Uncharted (2022)
This is oddly a full-circle film when it comes to Indiana Jones. Uncharted is based on the video game of the same name, which was admittedly based on the Indiana Jones films. Nathan Drake (played by Tom Holland) teams up with a seasoned treasure hunter in Sully (Mark Wahlberg) to find a...

Chris Evans almost lost the Captian America role? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Imagine almost missing out on Captain America because of heartbreak. Yep, Chris Evans, the star who donned the shield in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, nearly lost his lifetime role because of his connection to another Marvel gig—the Human Torch in Fantastic Four.
Evans admitted that playing Johnny Storm in the mid-2000s was a career-defining moment. “I think I had just been dumped. I needed a win,” he said during an episode of THR’s podcast. Landing the part in Fantastic Four was a big deal. Superhero movies were just gaining traction—thanks to Spider-Man and X-Men—and this was Evans’ ticket into the club.
The Fantastic Four films weren’t precisely box-office juggernauts. Critics weren’t kind, and the audience wasn’t sold either. But for Evans, the role was a silver lining during a rough patch.

Love can be a wild ride, and sometimes, it takes a hard fall. Anne Heche’s relationship with Ellen DeGeneres in the late ‘90s didn’t just make headlines for being one of Hollywood’s first openly gay couples; it also left Heche with a bitter reminder that love isn’t always the golden ticket.

In 1997, the two were everywhere: on red carpets, in magazines, and in the hearts of those cheering for love to break boundaries. But, as Heche earlier recounted, her love life became a double-edged sword. She was out there, taking a stand for love, but as she put it, Hollywood wasn’t exactly handing her any roses in return.
According to the late actress, after attending a movie premiere with DeGeneres, she was swiftly shown the door, losing a significant movie deal soon after.
