Pamela Bach, an actor whose 1985 guest appearance on the David Hasselhoff series Knight Rider led to their rocky 17-year marriage and headline-making contentious split in 2006, died Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 61.
While the Los Angeles medical examiner’s office is still investigating the death, TMZ cites law enforcement sources as saying Bach died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Deadline has not confirmed a cause of death.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” David Hasselhoff wrote on Facebook today. “We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult period but kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”
After the couple’s 1985 meeting on Knight Rider, the two dated and were married four years later. From 1991-2000 she appeared on 14 episodes of Hasselhoff’s series Baywatch, portraying news reporter and later restaurant owner Kaye Morgan.

Into the fifties, a trinity of electric young performers—Montgomery Clift, Marlon Brando and James Dean, in that order—emerged as major players in the movie industry. All students trained in The Actors’ Studio, the trio greatly popularized Method Acting. Not what we have come to know today of going extreme, sometimes wild, lengths for immersing into a role, but truthfully, it means exploring and exteriorizing the inner complexity of the human condition by way of your own personal experience.
This introduced a new type of leading man, who, unlike its precursors—the dashing and suave casanovas of Gary Cooper and Errol Flynn; the dorky and sweet charmers of Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart; or the cynical and unbeatable tough guys of John Wayne and Humphrey Bogart—showcased a deeply nuanced and conflicted emotional spectrum, offering more wounded and vulnerable representations of masculinity on screen. A Predator movie directed by Shane Black, written by him and the director of The Monster Squad. This sounded like the recipe for an awesome sci-fi action horror film, but what Black delivered was one of the least popular films in the Predator franchise, with a third act that was completely different from what was originally written and a variety of bad ideas being filmed as potential endings. Critics were unimpressed. Fans were disappointed. And now, we’re going to dig into what happened to The Predator.

Since 1975 nearly a thousand hosts have graced the stage at Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center for “Saturday Night Live.”
Actors, comedians, musicians and even politicians have taken the stage to make America laugh on Saturday night for 50 seasons. Twenty five of these hosts have been inducted into the “Five Timers Club.” The club was first introduced during Tom Hanks’ 1990 monologue, featuring Steve Martin, Elliott Gould and Paul Simon.
During Martin Short’s December 2024 appearance, several Five Timers Club members popped up on the show to welcome him into the club, including Emma Stone, Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig and more, to give him the ceremonial robe.
Alec Baldwin has hosted the show 17 times, the most in the series’ history, with Martin, Hanks, Buck Henry and John Goodman following close behind.

Timothée Chalamet hosted Saturday Night Live a third time on Saturday, January 25, but this time, he was also the episode’s musical guest. Chalamet is the Oscar-nominated star of the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, and true to form, he performed three songs by the crown prince of folk music. “This is a historic episode, because it’s the first time an actor has also been the musical guest at Saturday Night Live,” Chalamet said in his monologue on Saturday’s show. “And if you’re wondering if that’s true, it’s not. That’s a distinction I share with the great Gary Busey.” Lin-Manuel Miranda reprises Alexander Hamilton Before Chalamet even got on stage, however, Studio 8H featured another big musical star: Lin-Manuel Miranda playing Alexander Hamilton, as he did in his breakout Broadway role. Miranda joined SNL regulars in a cold open about the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.

Timothée Chalamet Covers Three ‘Personal Favorite’ Bob Dylan Deep Tracks in ‘SNL’ Musical Appearance

The Bob Dylan song choices Timothée Chalamet picked for his “Saturday Night Live” musical appearance were… well, completely unknown to most of the viewing audience. The actor’s dip into more obscure choices delighted many Dylanologists who tuned in, even as his picks defied expectations that he would recreate songs he performed as Dylan in “A Complete Unknown,” which turned out to be the furthest thing from his mind.
In his opening monolog as host, Chalamet signaled that viewers would be surprised by the choices during his musical segment. “You might not know the Bob Dylan songs I’m performing, but they’re my personal favorites,” he told the audience. “I’m so grateful ‘Saturday Night Live’ is still doing weird stuff like this 50 years in. They’re either really nice for letting me do this or incredibly mean and this is all a big prank.”

It may be Timothée Chalamet’s third time hosting Saturday Night Live, but it’s the two-time Oscar nominee’s first stint as a musical guest.

And in case you were hoping for a reprisal of Timmy Tim, don’t get your hopes up. The double duty-pulling host confirmed that he would be performing songs by Bob Dylan, in tribute to his performance in the newly minted Academy Award-nominated biopic, which garnered eight nods.

No Oscar campaign would be complete without a Saturday Night Live hosting gig; this year, Timothée Chalamet is carrying on that tradition. Chalamet, who just scored a Best Actor nomination for playing Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, returned to Studio 8H to host the long-running sketch comedy series for the third time, having previously taken on the duties in 2020 and 2023 (he also made a surprise cameo during Carey Mulligan‘s episode in Season 46).
Unlike his other appearances, Chalamet livened this by doubling as the musical guest, putting him in line with the likes of Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and his fellow 2025 Oscar nominee Ariana Grande (Wicked). Here are the best moments from Chalamet’s third hosting gig, from his opening monologue (in which he jokes about constantly losing awards) to the best sketches.

It can’t be denied that as far as martial arts movies go, the best ones come from Asia, particularly Hong Kong during their action heyday, which was arguably the 70s, 80s and first half of the ’90s. It’s tough to compete with the likes of the Shaw Brothers and the drunken master known as Jackie Chan. That said, martial arts movies were also making a foothold in the States decades ago, thanks mainly to Bruce Lee-mania following the release of Enter the Dragon. Before that movie, very few actors in Hollywood seemed like they were credible martial artists, except maybe James Coburn, a student of Lee’s, who pulled off some pretty good-looking moves in the otherwise silly Our Man Flint movies. Steve McQueen also had training but didn’t use martial arts on screen. Up to then, though, the most notable uses of martial arts in movies usually revolved around Judo,...

Don’t be too dazzled when host Timothée Chalamet double-dips as his own musical guest on Saturday Night Live later this month. Sure, it’s impressive, but not that unusual — he’ll be the 49th host to pull off the feat. But most of those hosts, from Mick Jagger to Dolly Parton to Charli Xcx, were musicians first who muddled their way through a few comedy sketches. Chalamet is one of the rare SNL hosts to attempt the reverse.
Here are five performers not known primarily for music who nonetheless rocked the house on SNL…
1 Lily Tomlin
Well, here’s a weird one. When Tomlin showed up in Season Eight for her third hosting gig, the musical guest was Black R&b singer Pervis Hawkins — a Tomlin character in full beard. The songs have been scrubbed from the Peacock episode, and there are no clips on YouTube, presumably because Tomlin performed the character in blackface.

Timothée Chalamet's upcoming return for Saturday Night Live 50 will make his best skit character in the famed show even better. All season long, Lorne Michael and NBC have come up with a fantastic slew of shows to celebrate the project's milestone. SNL 50 has featured hosts and musical guests including Martin Short, Jean Smart, Chappell Roan, and Stevie Nicks. As the season moves forward, it will continue this with a string of more impressive tandems to front the remainder of its celebratory period. Chalamet is part of that upcoming pool of hosts, which is exciting, considering his past appearances.
When he steps into Studio 8H this year, Chalamet will find himself in a familiar setting, having hosted SNL twice before. The first time he fronted the NBC weekly late-night staple was in 2020 for SNL 46, which featured Bruce Springsteen as the musical guest — his fourth time. Chalamet returned in 2023 for SNL 49 with musical guest Boygenius.

As he finds himself in the midst of awards season, Timothée Chalamet will host Saturday Night Live in January during its ongoing 50th season and mark a significant milestone in the history of the renowned late-night sketch comedy show. The past few years have been some of the biggest yet in Chalamet's career, with the star having led the casts of the box office hits Wonka and both Dune movies. Most recently, he was seen in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination.
Now, the official Saturday Night Live X account has revealed the upcoming SNL hosts for this month, as the show returns during the final two weekends of January. While Dave Chappelle has also been announced, most notably, Chalamet is listed as both the host and the musical guest on the episode dated January 25. Check out the announcement below:

It was recently announced that A Complete Unknown star Timothée Chalamet will host the January 25th episode of Saturday Night Live – but he will only be the second-best Bob Dylan impressionist in Studio 8H that night.
Weirdly, Chalamet won’t just be hosting, he will also be the show’s musical guest. While Chalamet isn’t a professional musician, he did do his own singing and guitar-playing in the Dylan biopic, suggesting that he may be performing on SNL as Dylan.
He’ll probably just sing “Like a Rolling Stone” or something, but he could also honor SNL history by belting out some of Dylan’s born-again Christian tunes.
Interestingly enough, Chalamet’s booking shares a number of parallels with an episode from the show’s distant past — and hopefully this one won’t be quite so disastrous.

‘SNL’ Taps Timothée Chalamet to Serve as Both Host and Music Guest, First Non-Pro Singer in 30 Years

In the 50-year history of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, only 41 people have ever been invited by Lorne Michaels to serve as both host and musical guest on the same night, including icons like Paul Simon, Ray Charles, Elton John, Britney Spears and Taylor Swift. Of them, only four have been non-professional singers or musicians, the most recent example coming some 30 years ago: Lily Tomlin, on Nov. 22, 1975 and Jan. 22, 1983; Desi Arnaz, on Feb. 21, 1976; Gary Busey, on March 10, 1979; and Deion Sanders, on Feb. 18, 1995.
On Jan. 25, you will be able to add Timothée Chalamet to that list. The star of the hit new Bob Dylan drama A Complete Unknown, in which he impressively sings dozens of Dylan’s songs himself, has been invited to Studio 8H at 30 Rock to serve in that dual role. Let’s face it. Theatre has been the most successful place for stories about popular musicians. Alicia Keys’ “Hell’s Kitchen” is selling big on Broadway, as is “Mj.” “A Beautiful Noise,” about Neil Diamond ‘s professional and personal history, had a nice run there, and is touring the country after its run in Los Angeles. We’ve had “Tina,” “Jersey Boys,” The Temptations’ “Ain’t Too Proud,” Carole King’s “Beautiful” and others. A new musical is being tested now about Frank Sinatra. But the most exciting news arrives this spring, when recent Tony winner Jonathan Groff portrays Bobby Darin.
But movies about musical stars? A mixed bag. (including Kevin Spacey in a bad one about Bobby Darin) Documentaries have been the safest form to chronicle the life of famous musicians: Ones about David Crosby, Joan Baez, Springsteen, and Linda Ronstadt. And, of course, “Woodstock” and Martin Scorsese’s “Last Waltz.

It can’t be denied that as far as the old-time action heroes go, Steven Seagal doesn’t get much respect these days. A whole lot has been written about Steven Seagal’s behaviour off-screen (much of it by us), and I’m not going to rehash it all here, but suffice it to say there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of goodwill left over for the former ponytailed action hero. While many would say he’s become a parody of himself in recent years, one shouldn’t forget that, at the start of his career, Seagal was ultra-popular. His Aikido moves, plus his tall, almost lanky figure and quiet demeanour made him unique among action heroes of the day. And, if you look at his filmography, his first five movies are really good as far as action flicks of the era go. Everything else? Well, not so much,...

Jimmy Kimmel reacted to Donald Trump nominating Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — a prominent vaccine skeptic — as secretary of health and human services during his “Jimmy Kimmel Live” monologue on Thursday night, saying the decision is “heavy on the F.”
“Who better to be in charge of health and humans than a guy whose brain was partially devoured by a worm?” Kimmel said, referring to Rfk Jr.’s revelation that a brain scan abnormality “was caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died,” as the New York Times reported in May.

With over 170 film and television roles, Van Cleef was particularly known for his leading and supporting roles in acclaimed spaghetti Westerns and his performances opposite stars like Gary Cooper, John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood. With a talent for playing no-nonsense tough guy bandits, Van Cleef had a sinister screen presence that made him a truly compelling villain.
From Western team-ups with iconic stars to truly spectacular Western sequels, Van Cleefs time in the cinematic Wild West was well spent. While some of Van Cleefs best Westerns featured him as the lead, he often also took a backseat to play highly memorable supporting characters who helped elevate these movies to now legendary status. Kathryn Bigelow’s action-bromance about bank-robbing surfer dudes is an enduring cult gem, thanks to its joining of tropes and tones
Director Kathryn Bigelow’s crazy action romp from 1991 now gets a rerelease. Eric Hobsbawm might have called it the final moment of The Long Eighties Decade of Action Movies, with shootouts, PAEs (pointless action explosions) and a recurring prosthetic cameo for Ronald Reagan. Bigelow’s feminist achievement in showing she could make an action movie as well as any man was perhaps, but probably not, underscored by a brief scene in which leading man Keanu Reeves gets a savage beatdown from a naked young woman.
Point Break is a freaky mix of Dog Day Afternoon and Big Wednesday; bank robbing meets surfing. Straight-arrow rookie federal agent Johnny Utah, played by Reeves – inscrutable and husky-voiced as ever – is posted to LA, where he’s partnered-cute with an older and irascible officer.

Members of the armed services can and will argue amongst themselves, but in the minds of people and pop culture, Navy SEALs loom large as the picture of the United States' most elite military men. We can probably thank the fiction of Tom Clancy, and the fact that a Seal team that killed 9-11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, but Hollywood has been enamored with the special operations force for at least the last three decades. When a character in any movie is declared to be either a current or former Navy Seal, it's a given that they won't go down easily. When we discuss the most ruthless thing a U.S. president can do short of a nuclear strike, more often than not it's, "Send in Seal Team 6!"
While movies often take artistic license, it's fair to say that some of the movies featuring Navy SEALs are significantly more accurate than others,...

On the heels of the movie even being revealed to be in the works, a new report about the secret Predator movie says it will break a franchise tradition.
i09 has published a report right after 20th Century Studios' boss Steve Asbell offered a slew of updates on the studio's franchise slate, targeted on the secret Predator movie in the works. Sources report that the project is "in fact an animated feature", breaking the franchise's tradition going back to the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led original in which every movie has been a live-action production. Furthermore, the publication reports that the movie will be something of an anthology, "telling three separate stories of Predators fighting warriors in multiple eras."
The sources would go on to report that the stories in the secret Predator movie will have one that is "potentially pirates", one that "is potentially samurai" and a reported third timeline that has yet to be revealed.

Survivor has been leveling up its game in every season, all thanks to showrunner Jeff Probst. The host has worked consistently in order to keep the show as thrilling and gruesome as he can. While some of his decisions have enjoyed public opinion, others have failed to capture what he intended to do in the first place. However, even this couldn’t shake the love and respect he has for the show that basically gave him the career push he needed.

There are whisperings that Sister Wives is being made into a movie.
The long-running TLC series has been entertaining reality TV fans since 2010.
Kody Brown, a former polygamist, and his then-four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, allowed cameras into their lives as they lived plural marriage and raised their super-sized family.
Since its inception, Sister Wives has taken on a completely different storyline.
After Robyn joined the family, Kody’s dream of living under one big roof with all four of his wives and their 18 children was squashed.
Kody’s marriages to his first, second, and third wives deteriorated over the seasons, and eventually, Meri, Christine, and Janelle left him and polygamy behind.

The 1980s produced tons of great action movies, many of which have never been beaten in terms of sheer entertainment value. Big-budget blockbusters from the 1980s have a unique appeal. Years before overabundant CGI, long-running megafranchises and endless reboots took some of the sheen off of multiplex popcorn movies, the 1980s were a great decade for original stories with tons of crowdpleasing action.
It's no coincidence that some of the biggest action franchises of all time can trace their roots back to the 1980s, like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon and Indiana Jones. These types of movies all combined fun ideas with charismatic movie stars. Most importantly, they also delivered the kind of hair-raising action that can still evoke a visceral response in audiences several decades later.

"Saturday Night Live" has been going on for 50 seasons now, so they've had their fair share of bad hosts. Sometimes the host is simply not that comfortable with live acting -- looking at you, January Jones or Jacob Elordi -- and sometimes the host has the bad luck of getting a cold at the worst possible moment, like what seemingly happened to poor Jean Smart in the season 50 premiere. Other times the host is bad because, well, they're just kind of a bad person.
Case in point: Steven Seagal, who hosted in April 1991 and helped deliver an episode so terrible that it got him banned from the show forever. Over three decades later, most "SNL" fans are happy to just pretend the episode never happened, because ite was a trainwreck in a way that wasn't even that fun or interesting.

Stephen King's body of literary work is astounding. While most adaptations of his literature enjoy widespread popularity (with a few evoking middling or downright unsatisfactory results), some end up flying under the radar despite being otherwise worthwhile. Dan Attias' "Silver Bullet," which is based on King's horror novella "Cycle of the Werewolf," suffered a similar fate: although generally enjoyable (it even made our rundown of the best Stephen King horror movies to watch during Halloween), this adaptation doesn't do justice to its source material at all and takes a stiff, uninspired approach to a tale about werewolf terrorizing a small town and how it affects the young protagonist, Marty Coslaw.
King was intimately involved with "Silver Bullet" once he was brought on board to supervise the first draft of the screenplay, but the film's failure to capture this conventional...

The movie sequel to HBO's celebrated television series Entourage is streaming now on Netflix. Created by Doug Ellin, who also went on to write and direct the 2015 movie, Entourage spanned 96 episodes across eight seasons from 2004 to 2011 and became one of the most popular comedy series of the 2000s. While some of the humor used in the celebrated series certainly belongs to the time it takes place in, Entourage provided one of the most detailed and hilarious inside looks into the hypothetical life of an A-list movie star named Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier). The series is loosely based on the real-life experiences of Mark Wahlberg, who acts as an executive producer.
By blending pseudo-reality and fiction, Entourage became an immersive and highly bingable self-reflective series about Hollywood and the entertainment industry. The series offers a glamorized slice of life for Vince as he rises to Hollywood stardom with the support of his hometown troupe from Queens,...

The 1990s had plenty of action movie superstars, although many of this era's most notable heroes had lots of movies that have been hugely underrated. While this decade was categorized by major franchises as legendary sequels like Terminator 2 or the dawning of revolutionary series such as The Matrix dominated the conversation, those willing to dig below the surface will be rewarded with incredible hidden gems. As the 1980s stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone continued to hit big at the box office, this was also the heyday for new heroes like Nicolas Cage, Steven Seagal, and Wesley Snipes.
The biggest action movie stars of the 1990s all had several underrated releases that have failed to maintain the same kind of pop culture dominance as their most acclaimed work. And, before you’re mis-led into thinking this video is about the great Netflix show of the same name, let me just set the record straight. This ain’t that one folks. Nope, the movie we’re focusing on today somehow manages to blend the classic British literary world of Agatha Christie with LL Cool J spitting out lines like. That’s right gore-hounds, twenty years ago director Renny Harlin was best known for action classics, pirate movies, dangling Sylvester Stallone from great heights and giant sharks; way before the likes of The Meg and more recently, Under Paris. Then, an intriguing project came his way that would blend the worlds of Agatha Christie and gangster rappers,...

Western films of the 1980s offer a variety of story tropes to appeal to all types of viewers, not just traditional fans. Underrated Westerns from the 1980s like Barbarosa and Rustlers' Rhapsody offer unique elements and fresh perspectives to the genre. Films like Hard Country and Cattle Annie and Little Britches showcase rare female-led Western stories worth rediscovering for their authenticity.
Plenty of Westerns came out in the 1980s, but some are more underrated than others. Western films often take on personalities of their own, with an incredibly wide range of story tropes that all fit under the genre. HBO’s The Leftovers starts with 2 percent of the world’s population suddenly disappearing for reasons unexplained — and the plot just gets more bizarre from there. Created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta — and based on Perrotta’s novel of the same name — The Leftovers starred Justin Theroux, Christoper Eccleston, Carrie Coon, and Amy Brenneman, among others, as the ones left behind when the Sudden Departure strikes. The series debuted on June 29, 2014, and ran for three critically acclaimed seasons, topping critics’ year-end lists of top 10 TV shows more than 20 times. And as The Leftovers attests, there’s no telling what will happen after one of every 50 persons on this planet — and three out of four Perfect Strangers cast members — vanish into thin air. Some people want to be (non-fatally shot) in the chest. Some opt for orgies aboard ferries. And some start heralding the return of Gary Busey. Here are...

Eulogizing the 1960s in a haze of marijuana smoke, psychotropic apparitions, ether vapors, and coke sweats, Terry Gilliam’s adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson’s brilliant, notorious 1971 novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has aged startlingly well. Picked up by Gilliam when fellow cinematic madman Alex Cox dropped out, the project was long thought to be the most preposterous screen adaptation ever mounted—an impossibly addled switchback ride through the death rattles of the 1960s, compacted and then stretched out like silly putty over a three-day fever dream in the heart of Sin City.
For Gilliam, the sheer outrageousness of the dystopian Freedomland that Thompson had found or hallucinated about out in the desert while covering the Mint 400 motorcycle race for Sports Illustrated presented a perfect outlet for his giddy, often disturbing brand of inventiveness, and, indeed, Fear and Loathing stands as the Monty Python alum’s last completely successful work.

Donald Trump is once again being accused of using the N-word on the set of The Apprentice, as a producer on the reality show has resurfaced the allegation following the expiration of their nondisclosure agreement.
Producer Bill Pruitt wrote about his experience working on The Apprentice in a new op-ed penned for Slate, claiming the former president and current presumptive Republican nominee said the racial slur when faced with the prospect of Black contestant and finalist Kwame Jackson winning the series’ first season.

Although never named in any entries of the franchise, the deadly aliens in the "Predator" series are a species called the Yautja (pronounced "Yah-oot-Cha"). The films themselves do little to explain where they come from and what their civilization might be like. What little we know is based on seeing a few of them as intergalactic big-game trophy hunters, but is this true of their entire society? Is their civilization centered around the hunt? Or are the Predators we've seen pariahs, the Yautja equivalent to big-game trophy hunters like Walter Palmer, widely criticized for his participation in the controversial killing of both Cecil the lion and a protected ram in Mongolia?
In 2010's "Predators," Royce (Adrien Brody) quotes Hemingway, "Certainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter." Like us,...

We have discussed killers that received slasher movies, folklore turned cannibalism, and plenty of possession via person, home, or even object. What we haven’t done too much of is the good old-fashioned cult. While we took a deep dive into Jim Jones and the tragedy of Jonestown paired with the very well-done Sacrament, there are a ton of real-life cults and cult leaders that have been put to celluloid in an attempt to both cash in and tell a compelling story. I mean, I’m writing this right now on the couch while my wife watches a documentary about a cult on Netflix. True crime and religious cult stuff exist in popular forms like podcasts, shows, and of course movies too. Today we will look at two things that don’t get a lot of widespread attention. The 2007 horror movie Borderland (watch it Here) and what it is loosely...
