While Dallas and Dynasty might have very concrete cultural icons and high points, and Knots Landing offers multiple places to start watching depending on what kind of show you’re interested in, Falcon Crest only has one place to kick off watching if you don’t want to do it from Season One, Episode One.
The Grapes of Boredom
Falcon Crest premiered on December 4, 1981, with Dallas, a year post-Who Shot Jr? as its lead-in. It should have been a massive hit. And it did well enough. Except for one minor problem: It was kind of boring.
Following his father’s mysterious death, Chase (Robert Foxworth) returns to the Tuscany Valley, his wife, and two grown kids in tow to battle with his aunt Angela (Jane Wyman) for the family grapes and winery. Angela snarled, Chase self-righteously pontificated, and his wife, Maggie (Susan Sullivan), simpered. Chase’s son, Cole (William R. Moses...

Did you miss the 1980s? Have you only heard about the golden age of primetime soaps? Do you know who shot Jr? Are you familiar with The Abby Scale (Abby being a 10)? What was the Moldovan wedding massacre? If not, it’s time to find out. And if you do understand all the above references, well, it’s time to relive the big hair, the big shoulder pads, and the big personalities of primetime soaps’ greatest decade. We start with the show that never got the acclaim and buzz of its sister soaps, but it was worth watching then, and it is definitely worth watching now that all seasons are available on Amazon Prime — Falcon Crest!

Put yourself into a 1987 state of mind, and imagine you're using the computer from "Weird Science" to create the perfect young actor. You want it all: A hunk with legitimate performing chops who can do finely composed drama as easily as he does zany comedy. He can be the world's sexiest man and its biggest blithering idiot. He's also got an athletic frame onto which you can pack layers of muscle. Can he sing and dance? Probably, but we're not trying to take roles away from our underserved musical theater stars, so let's not get greedy. All the other stuff you want a star to do, however, he does it.
So feed your snipped-from-magazine clippings of Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Cary Grant, Gary Cooper and the like into the computer, and who do you come up with? Lorenzo Lamas?? You've got yourself a virus,...

Reality TV shows like Kid Nation, Are You Hot?, and Average Joe would face major backlash for exploiting and shaming participants today. Programs like I Wanna Marry "Harry", The Swan, and Toddlers & Tiaras are criticized for promoting unrealistic beauty standards and pressuring children. Playing It Straight and Boy Meets Boy would be deemed insensitive for playing into stereotypes about sexual orientation and deceiving participants.
Fortunately for everyone who works on a reality TV show, the genre tends to have extremely passionate fans. After all, fans like to debate things like who the best reality TV couples are, who the most memorable reality stars are, and what the best reality competition shows are.
However, there are some things that fans who know who the biggest reality show villains are and which Survivor players have died, rarely think about. The thing that fans rarely think about is which reality shows from...

Spoilers are an odd beast for most Lifetime films. Few, if any, titles actually try to surprise audience with a killer reveal. More often than not there are twists, but the joy of watching these made-for-tv films is the journey to the big showdown.
It’s frustrating then, that Stepmom from Hell fully spoils its own ending with a completely on the nose title. As written by Hamish Briggs, Daniel Kautz, Nathanael Lirio and Elizabeth Snoderly, the embezzling-turned-murder mystery film definitely features a number of red herrings and twists en route to its climax, so the dead obvious title betrays the writers’ intentions.
As directed by Corbin Timbrook, the film follows Izzy Thompson (Lexi Giovagnoli), a hyper competent businesswoman struggling to launch a dog-related app in the shadow of her famous businessman. Jack Thompson (Lorenzo Lamas) has a thirty year legacy and he would much prefer that Izzy inherit his...

Some of you may be asking yourselves, “What’s The Guyver?” But, I suspect if you were a kid in the nineties, you know Exactly who and what The Guyver is.
When I was growing up, my parents subscribed to the Canadian version of HBO, which was called The Movie Network. The mixture of programming on the channel was eclectic, to say the least, and the blockbusters were padded out with many direct-to-video tiles, usually in the erotic thriller or action genres. Folks like Shannon Tweed, Lorenzo Lamas, and others became pretty common to see pop up on the channel. Occasionally, one of these movies would feature a bigger star and sometimes turn out to be a real gem.
With that in mind, I remember vividly as a kid tuning in to watch The Guyver because it was promoted as a superhero movie starring Mark Hamill. While that’s maybe “partly” true,...

The Story: A college kid (Brandon Lee) witnesses a gangland hit. Betrayed by witness protection, he’s recruited by a task force headed by a no-nonsense cop (Powers Boothe) as a pawn, but little do they know he’s more than able to handle himself against any of his foes.
The Players: Starring: Brandon Lee, Powers Boothe, Tzi Ma & Nick Mancuso. Directed by Dwight H. Little.
The History: The early nineties were the heyday of the martial arts movie star. Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme were consistently churning out hits, so if they could become icons, why not a guy like Brandon Lee? He was movie star handsome, could move, was charismatic and could act. Oh yeah – he also happened to be the son of the greatest Kung-Fu movie star of all time, Bruce Lee.
“I wouldn’t want to refer to them as stepping stones. That seems to demean them.

A scene from Courtney Gets Possessed. Courtesy of Paramount+
As the odd little horror comedy Courtney Gets Possessed opens, we meet Courtney (Lauren Buglioli) sitting alone and bored at someone else’s wedding when a jaunty fellow named Dave (Jonathon Pawloski) approaches her and arouses some interest in the lass. Fast-forward five years, and Courtney is now the bride about to marry Glen (Zae Jordan) while coping with her lifelong nemesis of a sister, Caitlin (Madison Hatfield). The latter has always resented her more popular sibling and done all she could to mess with her, from swiping jewelry to boinking her boyfriends. At the bachelorette party, Dave turns up at her door. Courtney tries to keep him out, but Caitlin – if only to annoy her sister – invites him in. The group soon learns that Dave is actually Satan, that Courtney naively had a fling with him several years earlier, and now he wants her back,...

As Amazon Freevee’s hoax reality series “Jury Duty” is currently garnering huge amounts of attention, the format originator is staging a comeback. TBS is set to announce Wednesday that it has ordered a revival of “The Joe Schmo Show,” which will air next year on the cabler.
The original “Joe Schmo” premiered in 2003 on Spike TV, with a follow-up in 2004 and then a third season revival in 2013. Created by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, “Joe Schmo” made waves when it first debuted for parodying the then-relatively new and white-hot reality competition genre.
The new “Joe Schmo” will be hosted by Cat Deeley (“So You Think You Can Dance”) and once again center on a show-within-a-show in which one non-acting civilian thinks he’s competing on a reality series — when he’s actually in a scripted environment surrounded by improv comedians.

Almost an entire generation can talk about their favorite primetime soap opera. The ’70s and ’80s had a fair share of these shows, offering plenty to talk about around the water cooler. One such primetime soap was Falcon Crest. It was popular in its day, with a lineup of big-name appearances. Now that Falcon Crest has been off the air for over 30 years, which cast members are still alive?

Tributes are pouring in for Raquel Welch, the legendary actress who died Wednesday at the age of 82, following a career that spanned more than 50 years across film and television.

There’s reportedly no truth to the rumours that Leonardo DiCaprio, 48, is dating 19-year-old model Eden Polani.
DiCaprio sparked dating rumours after he was spotted sitting next to Polani at model Riley Montana’s album release party last month.
However, a source has since told People, “Leo and Eden just so happened to have been seated next to each other at the party, and were hanging in the same group… Just because Leo might be talking to or sitting with a girl doesn’t mean he’s dating her.”
Polani seems to have since taken down her Instagram account. As per usual with DiCaprio dating rumours, social media users have been poking fun at the age gap between the pair.

Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, according to a new report, is “not dating” 19-year-old Israeli model Eden Polani, despite being recently spotted together at a party.
Sources close to the Oscar-winning actor confirmed to Daily Mail that the pair are not in a relationship.
“They were seated next to each other at a music-listening party. There were a number of people at that event,” the insiders said. However, they did not comment on whether there had ever been any romantic connection between the two, reports showbiz.com.
Dating rumours emerged after Leo was photographed getting close to Eden at Ebony Riley’s release party for her new EP on January 31 in Los Angeles. In some pictures, the ‘Don’t Look Up’ actor could be seen showing off a soft smile next to the model as he appeared to enjoy himself at the packed party.

Her son, actor Lorenzo Lamas, posted on Facebook, saying, “She was the most positive influence on my life. I will remember her laughter, her joy, her dignity as she navigated the challenges that she faced. Never an ill word about anyone crossed her lips. Her ability to forgive left me speechless at times. Fighting 4 One America — A prominent group of African American actors and entertainers have accepted President Donald J. Trump’s invitation to visit the White House in December to work together on important issues facing the Black Community.
In a late-night night phone call with the President Saturday night, rappers Eric B. and Money-b, actor Isaiah Washington, who are among the stars in Trump vs. Hollywood, and film director Daphne Barak, all agreed to continue their discussion of economic opportunity, criminal justice reform and the President’s groundbreaking “Platinum Plan” to deliver greater opportunity, security, prosperity and fairness to their communities.
“Thirty years ago I had a conversation with Donald Trump and he told me never to be afraid to hire the best people in business, even if they have more experience than me,” said rap pioneer Eric B., a lifelong Democrat. “And that conversation has shaped my business decisions ever since.

Antonio Sabato Jr and Robert Rabiah.
Antonio Sabato Jr. was one of the few American actors who supported Donald Trump in the 2016 election and soon found he was virtually blacklisted in Hollywood.
His agents and manager deserted him and work dried up so after a 30-year-career he decided to move to Florida and get a job in construction.
Now he plans a comeback, producing, co-writing, directing and starring in Trail Blazers, a Western about a band of brothers who were once outlaws and decide to turn their back on their old ways to fulfill their father’s dying wish.
Safe Harbour and Secret City star Robert Rabiah, who has been a mate of Sabato since they worked in Crawford Productions’ Queensland-shot series Tribe in 1999, will play Gabriel, his younger brother.
The brothers take refuge near a small town in Utah and quickly lock horns with the local Sheriff and his deputies.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: What is the worst show you’ve ever reviewed? Why was it so bad? Did you waver over the grade or rating you gave it?
Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint), The Hollywood Reporter
I’ve compared “Mixology” to contracting TV herpes, “Fuller House” to exhuming a bloating, gaseous corpse and called “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” the perfect xenophobic TV show for Trump’s America. Still, there’s little doubt that no show has ever made me so irate for its mere misguided existence than a little show called “H8r” on The CW. If you don’t remember “H8r” the premise was this: Mario Lopez drives his F-list celebrity...

2 | Kansas performing “Carry on Wayward Son” in Hall H: Peak Supernatural moment? Like, how do they even come close to topping that next year?
3 | Who would you award Miss/Mister Congeniality, of the many who passed through TVLine’s video suite?...

During an exclusive interview with Shawna, she dished to E! News about the status of her relationship with the actor. "Everything is going well," she told us. "I think that on the show it was a time in our life where Lorenzo wasn't used to having to share me with my career and with other people. And we had never been apart really and so that was a really big adjustment for him." On the show we saw Shawna living in Los Angeles, trying to kick-start her...

The Cueto Cup Tournament began on Lucha Underground this week, seeing the competitors in Group A of the tournament facing off to see who would advance to the next round. The episode brought us some interesting matches as well as some storyline focus on the Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Johnny Mundo match that will occur at Ultima Lucha Tres.
The opening match between The Mack and Mala Suerte was hard fought but didn't need to be. Mala Suerte was not put in a position to look strong. He got some offense in during the match of course, preventing it from being a complete squash, yet Mala Suerte gained nothing from this match. The Mack came out a little worse for wear due to taking a long time to beat someone he should have soundly beaten. In a wrestling match, you ideally want to accomplish two things. You want a winner,...

This is either going to be really good or so bad, it’s great. But either way, ABC’s relaunch of Battle of the Network Stars (premiering Thursday, June 29 at 9/8c) is looking like the summer’s must-see — especially since on Tuesday the full list of competitors was released. The celebrities we’re most psyched to see throwing down in events like the kayak relay race and dunk tank:

Lou Ferrigno: Don’t we all want to believe that, even at age 65, the Incredible Hulk is invincible?...

Gregory Bonann was a lifeguard at Will Rogers State Beach in 1977 when he helped two children who were caught in a riptide. That rescue would ultimately change his life – and the face of television, setting the stage for the eventual “Baywatch” juggernaut.
Now, with the new feature adaptation of “Baywatch” in theaters this weekend, it’s time to revisit the unusual story of how the lifeguard show made it on the air – ultimately producing 242 episodes before ending its run in 2001.
It all started because it turns out Bonnan had saved the children of Stu Erwin, an executive at Mtm – the independent production company behind series like “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Bob Newhart Show,” and run by legendary exec Grant Tinker.
While visiting Mtm’s offices in Studio City, Bonann pitched Erwin on a drama about lifeguards. The company passed, but Bonann took the opportunity to learn all about the TV biz.

Lights, camera, fashion! Shawna Craig is getting a complete wardrobe makeover at the hands of Katie Cazorla for her upcoming headshot photo shoot in this sneak peek from tonight's all-new episode of Second Wives Club. "I feel like this is my Pretty Woman moment!" Shawna gushes. Katie agrees, joking, "Except, you don't have to f--k me!" Katie's stylist Jeresa then chooses a series of career-driven outfits for Lorenzo Lamas' wife to model following Tania Mehra's previous attempt at rehabbing Shawna's closet. "I bet you a million f--king dollars Tania doesn't own a blazer," Katie says. "It's like swimsuits with the crotch cut out and, you...

Thank goodness for IMDb! In this rather awkward scene from Thursday's all-new episode of Second Wives Club, aspiring actress Shawna Craig meets with a potential agent in the hopes of getting signed and jumpstarting her career. As soon as she sits down in his office, Shawna admits she's never had representation before. "Everything I've done has been through my husband, you know," she says. "I don't know if you know who my husband is, Lorenzo Lamas?" From the blank stare on the guy's face, it's obvious that name rings absolutely no bells for him. But after a swift online search, he attempts to shake off the uncomfortable moment. "Of course, very...

Coming soon to a VOD platform or Walmart near you is Boone The Bounty Hunter , and it’s one you definitely should be checking out. You don’t even need to be like me, a person who loves movies starring wrestlers and good old 90s-style action, to have a good time watching it.
John Hennigan is our star / producer / co-writer. After graduating from college with a film degree, he wrestled for WWE under the names Johnny Nitro and John Morrison, and he was pretty good at it; he now works for Aaa (a Mexico-based promotion) and Lucha Underground (the MTV wrestling show). But he’s always had a passion for the same sorts of movies I love – 80s / 90s comic action, kung fu, chase movies – and given the chance, he’s made this.
He plays Boone, a TV bounty hunter – his resemblance to any famous TV...

Here at Et, we're obsessed with a lot of things -- and for the week of May 1 to May 7, this is what we're most excited about:
Why We're Obsessed With '2 Dope Queens'
Just over a year ago, Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson premiered their podcast, 2 Dope Queens -- shaking up the comedic podcast world with a show that is full of "black girl magic." If you're not listening to this already, you need to start now (it’s a good laugh, we promise). The show -- now in its third season -- is as unapologetic as its hosts, combining live stand-up and intimate conversations between the two queens off-stage. The hour-long episodes are taped live weekly at Union Hall in Brooklyn, New York, where the two are joined by special guests including Nore Davis, Aparna Nancherla, and more recently, Gabrielle Union, with season three kicking off with Jon Hamm. And if you...

Shawna Craig's marriage isn't without its fair share of challenges. In this sneak peek from Thursday's series premiere of Second Wives Club, the actress and model gives an introduction into her life with her husband, actor Lorenzo Lamas. "He's an amazing father, but he has quite the history," she says. "He's been married five times, including me. He's got six kids he's got to take care of and because of the divorces he's got financial problems." But despite all of Lorenzo's "baggage," the couple's relationship has endured. "Lorenzo has a lot of baggage, like 30 years of baggage," Shawna explains. "That's more years...
