The View is back with Season 28, and fans are already asking about the stars and who will return next year.
It is no secret that some fans feel the ladies are aging and calling for a younger panel on The View.
As Monsters and Critics have reported, the network will examine The View this fall to decide whether the show is profitable as the ladies and audience age.
The ladies, including Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines, are all back for the new season, but some fans wonder if the table will have the same faces next year.
Whoopi Golberg and Joy Behar always seem ready to retire, primarily since they already work a reduced week, but fans also ask about Sunny Hostin.
Sunny has been having a rough time lately, as she is navigating a significant life change since her youngest has moved to college, but there is another reason...

Norman Macdonnell and John Meston's "Gunsmoke" drama series aired on CBS for 20 uninterrupted seasons (!), a feat that feels even more impressive due to the consistent quality maintained throughout its run. Initially a radio series that broadcast between 1952 and 1961, "Gunsmoke" gained steady enough popularity to warrant a television adaptation in 1955, whose half to one-hour episodes culminate to form an epic Western saga for the ages. The nexus of "Gunsmoke" is one lawman Marshal Matt Dillon (James Arness) tasked to maintain order in Dodge City, Kansas, and his exploits underline the brutality of the Old West, challenging stereotypes attached to similar figures molded as unambiguously heroic. Although the show did employ archetypal characters — such as the loyal sidekick Chester Goode (Dennis Weaver) and the trustworthy town physician Doc Adams (Milburn Stone) — an appropriate amount of nuance grounds "Gunsmoke," which works best when rooted in morally grey vignettes.

S.W.A.T. is finally coming to an end with a seventh season. This was great news for fans and lead actor Shemar Moore, who fought for the show’s survival. While CBS canceled it after Season 6, a pushback caused the network to allow it to return for Season 7 so the series could wrap up its stories.
However, does this mean that some former actors who left the series like Kenny Johnson and Alex Russell could return? Here is what Shemar Moore had to say.
Could Kenny Johnson Return In The Final S.W.A.T. Season?
When CBS canceled S.W.A.T., Shemar Moore spoke up loudly supporting the series continuing for one more season. However, when the series was headed for its end in Season 6, one of the most important team members fell in battle and ended up forced into retirement.

Since it hit screens in 2017, Swat has proved popular with audiences thanks to its blend of high-stakes action and personal drama, yet the show shares a surprising connection with a largely forgotten 2003 Colin Farrell movie. TV shows and movies inspired by the police are nothing new. Every decade seemingly puts a new spin on the cop show formula, examining the concerns and critiques of the specific era. However, Swat is a particularly interesting case study, as it owes its success to not just one, but two earlier projects.
The 2017 Swat follows the adventures of Sergeant Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson (played by Shemar Moore), an ex-marine and loyal member of the LAPD. Incorporating a range of colorful side characters, the show chronicles the adventures of Hondo's dedicated new "Special Weapons And Tactics" team as they face off against dangerous external adversaries and internal bureaucracy. “I made him the highest paid actor in Hollywood history. We had a lot of fun!” So purrs Tom Hanks’ brazenly camp Col. Tom Parker in the new Elvis biopic. The film, which is the most decadent, jewel-encrusted piece of kitsch ever given an 85 million budget, is as much a monument to director Baz Luhrmann’s showmanship as it is Elvis Presley’s. For who else could condense the larger than life excess of a man dubbed “the King of Rock ’n Roll” into a three-ringed circus that keeps all its plates in the air for 160 minutes?
Elvis really is a marvel in spectacle and indulgence—plus a breakout for star Austin Butler who is so superb as the titular character that Luhrmann more than once slips in footage of the real Elvis’ 1950s rock star career, as well as clips from his ill-advised detour in 1960s Hollywood… and few viewers ever seemed to notice!

Amazon Women on the Moon
Blu ray
Kino Lorber
1987 / 85 Min. / 1:85
Starring Lots of Actors
Cinematography by Daniel Pearl
Directed by Joe Dante, Carl Gottlieb, Peter Horton, John Landis, Robert K. Weiss
Mark Twain said “If you don’t like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes.” That applies just as well to 1987’s Amazon Women on the Moon, John Landis’s unofficial sequel to Kentucky Fried Movie and the bastard child of Joe Dante and Jon Davison’s The Movie Orgy. Like those back-handed tributes to the disreputable entertainments of our youth, Amazon Women is a smorgasbord of comedy skits, some served up just right and others pretty half-baked—but a judicious use of the remote control and patience rewards; overall the result is a good-natured vacation for the mind with three or four laugh-out-loud vaudeville sequences and a couple of bona-fide short-form classics. HBO Max has put in development The Last Of The Mohicans, a series based on the historical novel by James Fenimore Cooper, from Emmy winner Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective), Watchmen director Nicole Kassell, Nick Osborne (Remember Me) and Paramount Television, where Fukunaga is under an overall deal, Deadline has confirmed. The project had been in development at Paramount TV since last April. Anonymous Content and Fukunaga’s Parliament of Owls are producing. Kassell will direct.
Written by Fukunaga and Osborne and directed by Kassell, The Last of the Mohicans series will be a retelling of Cooper’s French and Indian War novel that re-centers the classic tale on the unlikely romance between Uncas, a young Mohican, and Cora, the mixed-race daughter of a British colonel.
The Last of the Mohicans has a long history of both TV and film adaptions. There have been nine film adaptations, beginning with a 1912 version starring James Cruze.

The Tiffany Network is doubling down with Hondo and Deacon. CBS has renewed its Swat TV show reboot for a second season. The high-action program is a reboot of the 1975 original, starring Steve Forrest, Robert Urich, Rod Perry, Mark Shera, and James Coleman — itself a spinoff of The Rookies on ABC. A CBS police drama, Swat stars Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson, and Peter Onorati. The police drama centers on Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (Moore). A lifetime Los Angeles local and former Marine, Hondo has been tapped to lead a new “last stop” Special Weapons and Tactics unit. His team includes the seasoned David “Deacon” Kay (Harrington), newcomer Jim Street (Russell), canine trainer Christina “Chris” Alonso (Esco), and expert driver, Dominique Luca (Johnson). They work under the supervision of L.A. Metro...

I’m just about old enough to remember the original S.W.A.T. series, which launched in 1975. It starred Steve Forrest as Hondo while the late Robert Ulrich took on the role of hotshot rookie Street. At the time it was cutting edge like many police series back then, but by today’s standards it would look a little cheesy and perhaps too white despite having a token black character in the form of Sergeant David ‘Deacon’ Kay played by Rod Perry, who also had a role in the 2003 movie as Deke’s dad. Like many, I have been watching the new show with...read more...

Coleen Gray after Fox: B Westerns and films noirs (See previous post: “Coleen Gray Actress: From Red River to Film Noir 'Good Girls'.”) Regarding the demise of her Fox career (the year after her divorce from Rod Amateau), Coleen Gray would recall for Confessions of a Scream Queen author Matt Beckoff: I thought that was the end of the world and that I was a total failure. I was a mass of insecurity and depended on agents. … Whether it was an 'A' picture or a 'B' picture didn't bother me. It could be a Western movie, a sci-fi film. A job was a job. Lana Turner movies: Scandal and more scandal Lana Turner is Turner Classic Movies’ "Summer Under the Stars" star today, Saturday, August 10, 2013. I’m a little — or rather, a lot — late in the game posting this article, but there are still three Lana Turner movies left. You can see Turner get herself embroiled in scandal right now, in Douglas Sirk’s Imitation of Life (1959), both the director and the star’s biggest box-office hit. More scandal follows in Mark Robson’s Peyton Place (1957), the movie that earned Lana Turner her one and only Academy Award nomination. And wrapping things up is George Sidney’s lively The Three Musketeers (1948), with Turner as the ruthless, heartless, remorseless — but quite elegant — Lady de Winter. Based on Fannie Hurst’s novel and a remake of John M. Stahl’s 1934 melodrama about mother love, class disparities, racism, and good cooking, Imitation of Life was shown on...

Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of Paul Henreid movies to be shown on Turner Classic Movies in July consists of Warner Bros. productions that are frequently broadcast all year long, no matter who is TCM’s Star of the Month. Actor Steve Forrest has passed away at the age of 87. The brother of famed actor Dana Andrews, Forrest had a successful career in films and television. A WWII veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Forrest was discovered by Gregory Peck and appeared in numerous films including Flaming Star, Spies Like Us, The Longest Day, Heller in Pink Tights, North Dallas Forty and Mommie Dearest. He was also a proficient vocalist and golfer. On TV, Forrest enjoyed his greatest success, starring in the short-lived, but fondly remembered British adventure series The Baron. As the titular character in the 1965 show, Forrest played an American antiques dealer living in London who would secretly undertake dangerous international missions in the service of British Intelligence. "Let's roll!" started with S.W.A.T. Steve Forrest, best known for starring in the 1970s action drama, died May 18 at his home in Thousand Oaks, Calif., according to his family. He was 87. A spinoff of the Aaron Spelling-produced The Rookies, S.W.A.T. ran on ABC for two seasons. Forrest had dozens of TV and film credits to his name, but the Texas-born actor was forever linked to the role of Lt. Dan "Hondo" Harrelson, whose signature line, "Let's roll," has been adopted as a catchphrase many times over. Fittingly, his final acting gig was a cameo as a Swat truck driver in the 2003 film S.W.A.T., starring Samuel L. Jackson as Hondo. After serving in the Army during...

Actor known for her roles in The Ipcress File and Crossroads
The actor Sue Lloyd, who has died aged 72, exuded glamour and sophistication on screen in the 1960s, before finding renewed fame two decades later as Barbara Hunter in 714 episodes of the TV soap opera Crossroads. But it took two attempts by the serial's producers to persuade her to join a programme that was roundly abused by the critics.
"My initial reaction was to be a bit sniffy about it," Lloyd recalled in her 1998 autobiography, It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time. "The soap was renowned for its wobbly scenery, bizarre storylines and regular slaughtering by the critics. Why would I, just back from filming [Revenge of] The Pink Panther with Peter Sellers in the south of France and about to embark on the comedy The Upchat Line with John Alderton, want to get involved in a project like that?...

Elvis Presley holds the throne as “The King” of rock n’ roll. Music was his forte, but he did dabble in film for awhile and the results were a mixed bag. In honor of his 75th birthday which he won’t be able to celebrate for himself (unless you’re an Elvis Lives conspiracy theorist), Fox has released the Elvis 75th Birthday Collection. Presented in 2.35:1 Widescreen (save for Kid Galahad in 1.85:1 and Frankie and Johnny in 1.66:1), the collection shows its age in a few places as Fox seems to have done little to remaster these classics, but overall it’s a nice look at the musician who would be an actor, even if the selection of films leaves a lot to be desired. If the set is good for anything it’s for showing his progress as an actor from his first film ever, Love Me Tender,...

The concept behind Mission: Impossible had never been attempted on television before and the CBS series about a covert government operation taking on; well, impossible, cases became a smash hit. Guided by the steady Peter Graves, Greg Morris and Peter Lupis, the series received awards, acclaim and most importantly, ratings. Early on, the show was also headlined by Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, but they left after three seasons. In stepped Leonard Nimoy, Lesley Ann Warren, and Sam Elliot for the next two seasons but by spring 1971, the show was beginning to feel tired.
Season six, airing 1971-1972, was the season that should not have been. Paramount Pictures wanted the show canceled and placed into profitable reruns but CBS saw ratings upticks at the end of season five and wanted the series back. Nimoy wanted out, saying he was bored. It was time to change everything up.
