Cher released songs in many genres, including classic rock, pop, folk, and hair metal. However, a disco track from many years after disco supposedly died remains her best song. It only works because she forced her producers to do it her way.
Cher’s best song feels like an homage to disco queen Donna Summer
Cher was around during the disco era. She even dabbled in the genre herself, most notably with the hit “Take Me Home.” Despite this, her 1970s disco tracks aren’t all that impressive. The 1970s were ripe with 1970s nostalgia, so she returned to the genre with “Strong Enough.”
In some ways, “Strong Enough” is an obvious homage to Donna Summer. Much like Summer’s songs “Last Dance” and “MacArthur Park,” the tune starts as a ballad before transitioning into a glorious disco track. It also has some of the no-nonsense, streetwise feminism of Summer’s “Bad Girls.

Right-wing Australian Senator Fraser Anning threw punches at a teenager after the boy smashed an egg on Anning’s head while he spoke to the media on Saturday.
The video of the incident has since gone viral, with #Eggboy trending number one on Twitter today. The egging was prompted by the senator’s Islamophobic remarks following this week’s mosque attacks in New Zealand.

In October, some of our New York City actors hit a slow patch, while others were productive, going on auditions and even having a first onscreen kiss.Scott WintersScott Winters had a productive month, earning roles in three short films and getting two auditions for television pilots. He was surprised to get cast in one film and had his first onscreen kiss in another. Why were you surprised to get cast? I felt as if I blew the audition. I didn't take my own advice. When I go to auditions, I try and shut everybody out. I sometimes put on headphones and just get in the zone. But I fell victim to what Paul Barry at New Jersey Shakespeare calls "the cocktail party." I saw a bunch of people I knew there, and it was like, "Oh, hey, how are you? What's going on?" I was not as focused as I want to be.
