[This story contains spoilers from the penultimate seventh episode of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.]
From the stage to the big and small screens and in-between, Debbie Allen does it all. She’s a dancer, singer, actress, choreographer, producer and director whose had her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for over 30 years. She’s won Emmys, Tonys and a Golden Globe. For over 20 years, she’s helped train the future through her namesake Debbie Allen Dance Academy. If there is work to be done, she rolls up her sleeves and she does it.
Because Allen is so multifaceted, you can never be sure when, where and how she will show up. This time, she showed up in the final minutes of the penultimate episode of Peacock’s star-studded, Black gangster-fueled, hit series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. As roughly 100 musicians dine on pasta, ramen, and cannabis-infused bento boxes under a massive tent in DJ Jazzy Jeff’s backyard, the hip-hop pioneer announces that the night’s main event is about to begin. He had invited artists across music mediums and generations – including De La Soul’s Posdnous and Maseo, The Roots’ Black Thought, and Jay-Z’s sound engineer Young Guru – to spend three days camped out around his sprawling Delaware estate for his annual Playlist Retreat, resuming for the first time since 2019 after a pandemic hiatus. A while back, Cocaine Bear surprised everyone with its box office haul. For fans of animal attack movies, this is not a shock. People love animal attack films and can’t get enough of them. I’m not sure if it’s the man vs. nature theme of the films, the animals themselves getting revenge on humans, or just the all-around fun these films bring. No matter what, they are enjoyable for audiences in theaters. There has been a long history of animals attacking humans on film. Some films that are classified as ‘classic’ cinema fall into the animal attack category. We can always use more movies of animals rampaging through humans on the big screen. What are some of the best animal attack movies?
Grizzly (1976)
Since bears seem to be on everyone’s brain this weekend; then we might as well start with this classic.

NCIS: Hawaii Season 3 is now on DVD, so is it worth getting the final year for the spinoff?
Every TV season, there’s one cancellation that elicits a huge backlash and outrage from fans. In 2024, that was easily NCIS: Hawaii, as few could believe CBS canceled the series after three seasons.
Canceling any spinoff of the CBS franchise would be jarring. However, ending NCIS: Hawaii after only three years made no sense. The series was still doing well in the ratings, and the producers were blindsided as they had ended the year on a cliffhanger that was meant to set up a bigger season 4. It was more frustrating given the season had been delayed by the 2023 Hollywood strikes so not even a full year.
Now, the entire season is on DVD, so is it worth getting for fans?

Some of the biggest artists also got to perform: Chappell Roan made her awards show debut with a standout performance of her hit "Good Luck, Babe!" and she graced us with her “Roan of Arc” theme – which is a play with “Joan of Arc”. Sabrina Carpenter paid tribute to iconic pop culture blondes in her medley of "Please Please Please," "Taste," and "Espresso". Karol G captivated the audience and got them dancing in her performance of “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido”. Katy Perry made a wonderful performance of some of her most iconic songs. It seems like 2024 is the year for NCIS fans, with several new series spinoffs to add to the roster.
NCIS loyalists may feel lost without original spinoffs NCIS: LA, which aired for 14 seasons, and NCIS: New Orleans, which was canceled in 2021 after seven seasons.
But we’re thrilled to see long-time agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) share the screen with his Hawaiian co-stars in the canceled spinoff NCIS: Hawai’i. And even better news is the new series spinoffs, NCIS: Syndey — renewed for Season 2 — and NCIS: Origins.
(Courtesy of CBS)
We’ll also enjoy the continuation of the love story between Dinozzo and David in NCIS: Tony and Ziva later in 2024-2025.
Here’s everything we know about the upcoming prequel, NCIS: Origins.
What is NCIS: Origins?
NCIS: Origins is a series that takes place in the 90s and follows Leroy Jethro Gibbs as he starts out as a rookie NCIS agent at Camp Pendelton.

Usher paid tribute to the male role models in his life at the 2024 Black Music Action Coalition (Bmac) Gala, which took place Thursday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
“As a kid, I was given this very odd, awkward name — because I never met another Usher — so it was a bit complicated, but the most unfortunate reality is that I was gifted this name by a man who never showed up, who was never there to help me give meaning, give understanding, give some reference to what this name means, where it came from, and what it could potentially be,” said Usher who received the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award as he teased a few dance moves along to Bobby Brown’s “Don’t Be Cruel,” as it played in the background.

Typically, the MTV Video Music Awards follow an expected rhythm. Taylor Swift sweeps, there’s an R&b throwback and tried-and-true favorites dominate. Yet that wasn’t exactly the case for the 2024 VMAs, a ceremony that celebrated newcomers Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Benson Boone as loudly as old favorites like Eminem and Katy Perry.
In some cases, the new faces actually scored louder applause than the old.
This year, TheWrap was there to witness it all. From secret stages and specialty cocktails to surprising celebrity appearances, here’s what went on behind the scenes of MTV’s iconic awards show during its 40th year.

Sasha Colby may have stole some spotlight by dubbing Chappell Roan “your favorite drag queen’s favorite artist,” but the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winner was far from the only drag queen at the VMAs.

LL Cool J hit the MTV VMAs stage Wednesday night with a medley of his classic hits and new tunes to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Def Jam Records.
The rapper — whose performance featured an appearance by Public Enemy’s Flavor Flav and Chuck D, who are two of LL’s original Def Jam labelmates — took to the stage toward the end of the three-hour show.
LL kicked off the high-energy performance with “Headsprung,” with audience members wearing the rapper’s signature Kangol hats, all in red. The cameras then cut to several people in the audience holding signs of goats, with LL rapping his song “The G.O.A.T.,” when Flavor Flav and Chuck D joined him onstage for a performance of their own “Bring the Noise.”
LL then segued briefly into his hits “Mama Said Knock You Out,” “Rock the Bells,” “Around the Way Girl” and “Goin’ Back to Cali.

Nearly 25 years after being the first to declare himself the G.O.A.T. Eminem opened the 2024 MTV VMAs on Wednesday (September 11th) with a medley performance of “Houdini” and “Somebody Save Me” from his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
While walking out on stage, Eminem was flanked by a cadre of copycats similarly dressed in blonde wigs and black t-shirts, a callback to his iconic 2000 VMAs appearance. Following the spirited performance of “Houdini,” he switched gears to the introspective “Somebody Save Me.” Watch a replay below.
The performance marked Eminem’s return to the VMAs after joining Snoop Dogg onstage in 2022 to play their collaboration “D 2 the Lbc.” He’s nominated for eight VMAs this year, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop, and Song of the Summer for “Houdini.”
Eminem recently teamed up with LL Cool J for their first-ever collaboration, “Murdergram Deux,” off the latter’s first new album in 11 years, The Force.

It’s not often I’d be talking about Agatha Christie, Renny Harlin, Val Kimer and LL Cool J in the same breath, but thanks to the world of Tinseltown magic, here we are! And, before you’re mis-led into thinking this video is about the great Netflix show of the same name, let me just set the record straight. This ain’t that one folks. Nope, the movie we’re focusing on today somehow manages to blend the classic British literary world of Agatha Christie with LL Cool J spitting out lines like. That’s right gore-hounds, twenty years ago director Renny Harlin was best known for action classics, pirate movies, dangling Sylvester Stallone from great heights and giant sharks; way before the likes of The Meg and more recently, Under Paris. Then, an intriguing project came his way that would blend the worlds of Agatha Christie and gangster rappers,...

NCIS Los Angeles turned out to be as successful of a television show as the original series that inspired it. Its longevity came as a pleasant surprise for its lead star LL Cool J, who underestimated the commitment needed for the series.

Fans saw a different side of the hip hop veteran when he played federal agent Sam Hanna on NCIS Los Angeles. Starring in television wasn’t new for LL. In addition to his flourishing film career, the rapper had a taste of the small screen when he starred in the shortlived In the House. The mid 90s sitcom saw LL Cool J playing a former football player entangled in the lives of several wacky and colorful characters. Although the show displayed the rapper’s comedic chops, it only lasted for a couple of seasons.

LL Cool J spent nearly three decades in pursuit of commercial success, which included a series of forgettable and ill-advised junctures where hip-hop’s first superstar forced himself into stylistic niches that never quite suited him. This makes his 14th studio album, The Force, feel like a breath of fresh air, driven by a clear sense of personal and artistic vision.
The album’s lack of interest in courting contemporary trends is a feature, not a flaw. But the songs aren’t too nostalgic either, and the ever-charismatic LL, per usual, doesn’t take his brand of boisterous smack talk too seriously. Songs like “Runnit Back” are filled with affirmations aimed at all walks of life, and the inclusion of three up-and-coming rappers on closer “The Vow,” recreating the youthful posse cut vibe of “Farmers Blvd. (Our Anthem),” suggests an openness to a younger generation that traditionalist projects of this ilk rarely ever court.

Eminem is set to open the 2024 MTV VMAs with the first TV show performance from his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady.
The rapper is nominated for eight VMAs this year, including video of the year, best hip-hop, song of the summer and VMAs’ most iconic performance for his 2000 medley of “Real Slim Shady” and “The Way I Am,” which included more than 100 look-alikes.
Currently tied with Peter Gabriel for the most VMA wins by a solo male artist in show history, Eminem could break that record with just one win this year. He also holds the record for most wins by a rap artist with 13 VMAs and is the second most nominated artist in VMAs history with 67 nods, trailing only Madonna with 71 nods.

LL Cool J is opening up about learning how to balance his acting career with his passion for music.
The Grammy-winning rapper got candid in a recent interview with The Independent about feeling conflicted once his acting career took off in the 1990s.
“The more successful I became in acting, the less I wanted to do it, as it was taking me further away from music,” he admitted. “I later realized I could find the right balance, that I could do all these things I wanted. But it took time.”
While LL Cool J went on to star in dozens of TV shows and movies, including Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, In the House, Any Given Sunday and long-running NCIS: Los Angeles, he also struggled to find time to work on his music, even taking an 11-year musical hiatus following the release of his 2013 Authentic album.

Scant months after Q-Tip publicly debated the dubiousness of an “adult-contemporary hip-hop” category on social media comes a completely Tip-produced new album by his Queens neighbor LL Cool J — the 56-year-old rapper-actor’s 14th since his 1984 debut as a teenager. In a year when both Rakim and Masta Ace released new projects, when Common teamed with producer Pete Rock for a stellar throwback album of Nineties-spirited hip-hop, LL’s new effort joins a trend. “Call it traditional hip-hop,” Q-Tip tweeted.

LL Cool J and Eminem have officially shared their new song, “Murdergram Deux,” after it leaked earlier this year. Marking the first-ever collaboration between the hip-hop legends, it will appear on LL Cool J’s upcoming album, The Force.
Co-produced by Eminem and Q-Tip, the frantic beat for “Murdergram Deux” is a throwback to the mid-2000s, providing a backdrop for the rappers to go back and forth with a flurry of rapid-fire rhymes.
“Give blessings to my disciples, professional I’m a sniper,” LL raps on his second verse. “Like eight miles away, me and Marshall doing murders/ With dirty burners, break them down and melt them in the furnace.”
While closing out the track, Em name-checks “Crack a Bottle,” his 2009 hit with Dr. Dre and 50 Cent. “Go ahead and crack a bottle, ’cause this is E and J/ Meaning me and James, got that avocado,” he spits. “We the sociopaths,...

Taylor Swift is poised to have a huge night at the 2024 VMAs.
She leads the competition with 10 nominations and if she wins 7 of them or more, she’ll take a very important title away from Beyoncé.
With an electric lineup of performers in place, many of which are pals of Taylor, it seems very likely that she’ll show up this year.
