Last month, DC Studios announced plans for a Clayface movie that will arrive in theaters on September 11, 2026. Midnight Mass and Doctor Sleep's Mike Flanagan has penned the screenplay, though no director or star has been announced.
According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, a director is expected to be chosen early this month with shooting potentially beginning either at the end of this month or by February.
That's a very quick turnaround, though DC Studios co-ceo and Superman director James Gunn did recently share, "Exciting news out of [DC] Studios today as [Clayface], a Dcu story from a script by Mike Flanagan, has been Officially greenlit. Clayface premieres in 2026."
With the script ready to shoot and the project expected to be a relatively low-budget one, it likely won't take long to find a director and cast (all of whom may already be in talks).
Why is Clayface shooting so soon? Well, the majority...

Based on a real mass killing, this 16th-century tale of backstabbing and beheadings is a clunker with a laddish edge
‘A great deal of this actually happened,” reads the title card at the start of this action-packed historical epic. Possibly. But it’s unlikely that anyone actually said these words. Like an episode of Game of Thrones scripted by Guy Ritchie, there is a laddish finesse to the dialogue in this 16th-century tale of backstabbing and beheadings. “That sounds like a load of bollocks,” splutters the Danish king Christian II to an adviser in one scene. The actors are mostly Danes and Swedes speaking lines in English, plus a few Brits with a slight Scandi tinge to their accents.
The film is based on real events: the mass killing of Swedish nobles in 1520, ordered by Danish king Christian II (Claes Bang). The script gives history a revisionist twist or two:...

The news broke yesterday that Aquaman star Jason Momoa will play the Dcu's Lobo.
The actor first played Arthur Curry in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and later reprised the role in Justice League (2017), Aquaman (2018), Peacemaker (2022), The Flash (2023) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023).
The latter was poorly received and grossed a disappointing $439 million worldwide compared to the $1 billion earned by its predecessor. The sequel marking his final appearance as Aquaman was no secret but whether he'd get a second chance in the Dcu as Lobo was left up in the air.
Sharing an excerpt from a ComicBookMovie.com article, Momoa announced his casting as The Main Man on Instagram. James Gunn later welcomed him to the Dcu and the trades confirmed that he'll first play Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Tom Hardy is spending another long day on set of his new project.
The 47-year-old Venom actor filmed scenes for his upcoming crime drama series from creator Guy Ritchie on Monday (December 30) in London, England.
Tom was seen wearing an all-black outfit as he and Guy, 56, filmed scenes from the daytime to the nighttime.
According to Variety, the official series description states that the show is “centered around two warring families based in London whose enterprises stretch all corners of the globe and the fiercely loyal ‘fixer’ charged with protecting one of them at all costs.”
Tom will play Harry Da Souza, described as “a professional conciliator on behalf of the Harrigan family.” Pierce Brosnan will play Conrad Harrigan, “the head of a very successful Irish crime family based out of London for whom Harry works.”
The series was originally billed as a Ray Donovan spinoff, but it looks like...

Jason Momoa is staying in the DC Studios family.
The actor, who previously appeared as Aquaman in several DC comics films including two standalones, will co-star as Lobo the intergalactic bounty hunter in the upcoming “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.” Milly Alcock plays the title role, with direction being handled by Craig Gillespie. It’s currently scheduled to start shooting next month in London and Iceland and will be released on June 26, 2026.
Momoa had long lobbied to play the character, basically an outer space biker and who was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen in “Omega Men” #3 back in June 1983. Over the years, various attempts at giving the character his own film have been mounted. In 2009 Guy Ritchie took on the project, with Brad Peyton and Joel Silver attempting the project in 2012 (with Dwayne Johnson in talks to play the character). As recently as 2018, Michael Bay looked to make the movie,...

Jason Momoa is going from the ocean deep to the galactic highway when he steps into Lobo’s boots for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Momoa has wanted to play Lobo for years, and his dream is finally coming true. Lobo, created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, debuted in Omega Men #3 circa 1983. Lobo is a Czarnian bounty hunter who rides a motorcycle through the cosmos in search of his marks. Inspired by characters like Punisher and Wolverine, Lobo became DC’s poster boy for violence as fans warmed to his reckless nature and “rude dude” attitude.
This attempt is not the first at bringing the cigar-chomping Czarnian to the silver screen. Previously, Guy Ritchie and Brad Peyton tried to bring Lobo front and center, with Dwayne Johnson eyeing the role in Peyton’s version. Michael Bay also attempted to adapt the character, but the concept stalled before taking to the stars.

Aquaman star Jason Momoa is staying in the DC fold. The actor will appear in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as Lobo, the alien bounty hunter who first appeared in the comics in 1983, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Momoa was the face of the Aquaman franchise for the previous DC regime, appearing as Aquaman in a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) before starring in Justice League (2017) and then toplining 2018’s Aquaman. The feature was a massive hit, earning $1 billion and marking the high point for the Dceu films, which ended with last year’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. That final film was a letdown, earning just $439 million and failing with critics.
Momoa has long wanted to play the character and has talked about it for years, including during the press rounds for The Lost Kingdom. On Monday, the actor shared a quote from that press tour in...

The singer’s journey to the top is retold through archive clips and audio, efficiently albeit perhaps too straightforwardly
The story of Madonna’s leap to stratospheric celebrity is breathlessly and efficiently retold in this documentary that uses only archive clips and existing audio interview material in the now accepted way. It tracks the period from her tough beginnings as a dancer in late 70s New York to the early 90s days of the Blonde Ambition tour and her once-controversial Mapplethorpe-type book of photos entitled Sex. It’s watchable enough, with some interesting things to say about Madonna’s instinctive knack for appropriating a gay aesthetic and repurposing it for her own heterosexual spectacle, and then repaying the debt by becoming an outspoken advocate for HIV/Aids research.
Yet the film can also feel breezy and glib. There is no mention of Madonna’s appearances in movies such as Desperately Seeking Susan...

Long before the time of Henry Cavill, Glen Powell, Tom Holland, or Jack Elordi — Josh Hartnett used to be the hot crush of every other teenage girl and woman. The Hollywood actor was not only one of the most famous actors back in the late 90s and early 2000s but he was also ‘the Hollywood icon’ of that time. But unlike actors who would take the fan appeal as a stepping stone to climb higher in their careers, Hartnett made the conscious decision of stepping away from fame.

Although he only ever did stopped working for 18 months or so, he was not doing the leading or hottest new roles that everyone expected him to be. Instead, he was out there in unknown territories, working in indie films and alike which helped challenge his acting ability and widened his horizons.

It would seem to be of vital importance that directors and actors at the very least respect each other while they're making a movie, but Hollywood history is riddled with instances where this simply didn't occur. One of the most famous disagreements nearly turned fatal when Werner Herzog threatened to shoot (with a gun) notoriously erratic star Klaus Kinski while filming "Aguirre, the Wrath of God." No guns were brandished on the set of "Hook," but Steven Spielberg famously did not enjoy his time collaborating with Julia Roberts (they haven't worked together since). And then there's David O. Russell, who's fought with and/or terrorized stars like Amy Adams, Lily Tomlin, and George Clooney; if there's any justice, O. Russell, a once-formidable talent who hasn't made a watchable movie since 2010's "The Fighter," won't be allowed back behind the camera until he learns how to behave like a decent human being.

Sherlock Holmes 3 still a possibility?(Photo Credit – YouTube)
Yes. Producer Susan Downey, wife of Robert Downey Jr., gave fans a glimmer of hope that this long-awaited sequel isn’t just smoke and mirrors. In an interview promoting Sweet Tooth Season 3 on Netflix, she revealed that the project is still very much alive—though progress feels as slow as Sherlock solving a jigsaw puzzle.
Susan Downey spilled the tea to Screen Rant, saying, “Every day we talk about, ‘What is the best next version of that?’ Anytime I see Robert and Jude [Law] together, which fortunately, I do get to see a few times a year, we hang out, and I’m just like, ‘Can I get these guys back on screen together?’ It’s magic. There needs to be a really strong reason, it needs to be a great story, and we do have some things in the works.” Translation:...

Tom Hardy steps up and pays wages for TV Crew ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Tom Hardy has made a generous move that is rarely seen in the Hollywood industry. The actor stepped in to cover the wages of an entire TV crew after the construction company responsible for building sets for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming series, ‘The Associate’ went bankrupt.
Hardy, while filming scenes for the show in London, learned that around 50 freelance workers were left in a tough spot when Helix 3D, the construction company responsible for building sets, suddenly collapsed.

Reports suggest that the company failed to pay out $310,000 in wages just before Christmas and its CEO, Brian Dowling, informed the workers last week that their pay would not be processed until after the New Year.

Yesterday, Warner Bros. and DC Studios shared the first poster for Superman. The movie will serve as the true launching platform for the new Dcu after Max's Creature Commandos, and excitement for Thursday's trailer is rapidly rising.
In the motion poster shared on social media yesterday, we heard what appeared to be composer John Murphy's score for the reboot. Taking its cues from John Williams' work in Superman: The Movie and, to a lesser extent, Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel theme, it's received a positive response from fans.
Today, Murphy has posted a 30-second clip on YouTube in a video he's named "Theme From Superman." We don't know if this is the Man of Tomorrow's main theme, but it seems to be at least part of it (we'd imagine a full "reveal" is being saved for the trailer).

Paramount and 101 Studios have been forced to step in and save Christmas for dozens of construction workers on their upcoming Guy Ritchie series.
Deadline understands that at least 50 people who worked building the sets on the gangster show have been left unpaid to the total tune of around £250,000, but hopes are now high they will have the money well in time for the holiday.
The show, which has rolled cameras in London, stars Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan in two warring families whose enterprises stretch across all corners of the globe. Produced for Paramount+ with Showtime by 101 and MTV Studios, it is currently untitled but has had working titles The Associate and Fixer.
Construction of sets took place over the summer and the non-payment issue has emerged in recent weeks due to financial strife experienced by set construction firm Helix3D, which we understand is likely to enter liquidation.

When Man of Steel premiered 11 years ago, the opening scene struck a chord among the fans of the comic book community for being too grimdark and depressing for a Superman movie. Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent existed in a constant vacuum of isolation, traveling around the world looking for odd jobs in even odder places.

In reality, Clark Kent’s life was not that different from the one Cavill once lived during his time as an aspiring actor. While most struggling artists who want to make it in Hollywood live off their wages as waiters, bartenders, or busboys in LA, Cavill too did the same halfway around the world in the UK.

After spending a disappointing decade at Warner Bros. as a controversial Man of Steel, Henry Cavill seems to have finally found a solid footing with Amazon MGM. The streamer/motion picture studio now elevates Cavill to the prime of his life as the actor signs one deal after another in his chosen genre, highlighting just how creatively hungry he has been in hindsight.

However, with so many projects in the works, it looks like Cavill is biting off more than he can chew. With fans being more supportive than ever, especially after his unceremonious exile from two fan-favorite projects in the past, the British star cannot afford to take any more hits to his reputation within the industry. But at the rate he is going, the conclusion seems almost inevitable.

Jake Gyllenhaal has some really differing tastes and choices that have left many amazed at his decisions. While his career choices, which have landed him in prominent roles in masterpieces among the likes of Brokeback Mountain (2005), Prisoners (2013), and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), are understandable, it’s his personal life decisions that leave his fans baffled.

On June 18th, 1984, Alan Berg was assassinated outside of his home in Denver, Colorado. The confrontational talk-radio host had made a name for himself by arguing on-air with, among others, anti-Semites and white supremacists. A group known as “The Order,” who had taken their name from the fictional hate-mongers in the novel The Turner Diaries, had been responsible for Berg’s murder. They were also behind a series of bank robberies throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as stealing $3.6 million from a brinks truck in Ukiah, California. The goal was...

IMDb has officially unveiled the most popular movies and TV shows of 2024 as part of their annual recap of the year in entertainment. Based on the actual page views of 250 million monthly visitors worldwide, IMDb's authoritative lists reflect the films and series that fans couldn't stop talking about this year. And despite critical chatter about Hollywood's rinse-and-repeat habits, entertainment fans can't seem to get enough of the sequels, prequels, reboots, and spin-offs that studios are dishing out.
Topping the list of most popular movies is the long-awaited ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ which brought together Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as two of Marvel's most beloved characters. With a worldwide gross of $1.3 billion, the film passed 'Joker' as the highest-grossing R-rated film in history, giving Disney a much-needed hit from Marvel Studios. Warner Bros. claimed the second and third spots with Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Two’ and George Miller’s ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,’ starring Anya Taylor-Joy.
On the small screen, the highly rated fourth season “True Detective: Night Country” reigned supreme as the most popular show of the year (and scored an Emmy for lead actress Jodie Foster). Prime Video’s gritty superhero series "The Boys," and Max’s Batman spin-off "The Penguin" followed closely behind, proving the enduring popularity of comic book adaptations.
But even as familiar franchises dominated the top spots, there were some original films and less-familiar IP also crept into the top spots. Oz Perkins’s ‘Longlegs’ and Coralie Fargeat’s body-horror thriller ‘The Substance’ were two indie horror hits that caught fire in 2024. And while the top TV shows are all based on pre-existing IP, there were some fresh debuts, including Prime Video’s video game adaptation “Fallout," FX’s “Shōgun” reboot, and Netflix’s “The Gentlemen,” based on the Guy Ritchie movie of the same name.
IMDb’s end-of-year coverage also includes the site’s Most Popular Stars of the year, a curated list of IMDb Staff Picks, and a look at the stars we lost in 2024. For full coverage of the Best Of 2024, head to IMDb.com and the IMDb mobile apps.

Sex, drugs and some kid blasting into a microphone: It’s still the most shocking, most fun combination of anything in the world, still the stuff that blasts each generation out of childhood into the thrill of youth. Kneecap, both the Irish-language rap band and the film in which the three “low-life scum” band members play themselves, have managed to delight vast crowds — including the ones that gave the film the Next Audience Award at Sundance — while making culture-war enemies all the way to the top echelons of the British government. Which is entirely as it should be.
First, a word about those cultural enemies. Kneecap rap in Gaelic, once banned from classrooms in Northern Ireland — the six counties of Ireland that remain under British governance — and only recently (and very controversially) given the status of an official language of the land. Naoise Ó Caireallain, one of the two boyhood friends who start Kneecap,...

It’s not uncommon to see the same actor playing several different roles at the same time, especially on TV shows.
Shawn Hatosy has a role on Rescue: Hi-Surf but is also a recurring face on Chicago Pd. Both roles portray Hatosy as an entitled white male in charge who’s not afraid to bend the rules to get his way.

Updated: Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan have officially signed on to star in the Paramount+ series from Guy Ritchie and Ronan Bennett.
It was previously reported that the trio were in final negotiations to join the show. However, it has been reworked into a standalone series with no connections to that franchise. It was also previously reported that it was filming under the working title “The Associate,” but that is no longer the case.
Production is now underway in London, with the untitled show slated to debut in 2025 on Paramount+ with Showtime. The role reunites Hardy and Ritchie, who previously worked together on the 2008 film “RocknRolla.” It also keeps Mirren in business with Paramount,...
