For millions of Keith Urban’s fans, the first introduction to “The Fighter” – his duet with Carrie Underwood now soaring up the charts – came last May in a video that he and his wife, Nicole Kidman, released showing the couple singing along to the album track in the car.
Adorable? Of course. But now we know the couple was actually re-creating their personal history.
On Friday, Urban revealed that their first fragile days together, back in 2005, were the song’s inspiration.

It has been a brutal season of Naked and Afraid Xl.
Twelve participants were sent to the African Badlands to survive for 40 days. In the first 28 days, four participants either tapped out or were medically evacuated.
Then came day 29.
After eating tainted fruit that the show helpfully told us were probably "contaminated by the saliva or feces of bats or monkeys," four participants fell deathly ill in a 24-hour period.
Three people have been medically evacuated, while the fate of the fourth, Jake Nodar, hasn't yet been aired. (We'd be willing to bet that he's also out of the challenge.

One thing about most Naked and Afraid participants have in common: they're not shy. Everywhere they go, they're asked questions about their experience – and those questions aren't for the faint of heart.
Last week, we asked some of the show's women to weigh in on some of Naked and Afraid's most commonly asked questions, all of which were delicate and personal. This week, it's the guys' turn.
Steven Lee Hall, Jr. and Jake Nodar, who are both participating in his season's Naked and Afraid Xl, gamely came up with answers to People's nosiest questions.

Question: What's harder than spending 21 days naked in the wilderness with a stranger? Answer: Spending 40 days naked in the wilderness with a whole bunch of strangers.
Yes, Naked and Afraid Xl returns this summer, and People has an exclusive preview.
Twelve former participants will head to the African Badlands, where they'll build shelters, forage for food and create a new community – and, yes, they'll be naked.
In the preview, one of the participants nervously mentions that he can hear lions nearby. That seems like the last thing you'd want to deal with when you're naked.

The previously announced John DeLorean biopic being developed by Time Inc. Studios and Xyz Films has its director. Alex Holmes, who most recently wrote and directed the HBO and BBC miniseries House of Saddam, will helm the film – his big screen directorial debut. Holmes developed the DeLorean script with co-writer Rob Warr. They had previously collaborated on the BBC TV series Dunkirk. Holmes envisions the film as a crime thriller with a tragic hero at its heart. The untitled film will tell the story of how the auto industry maverick's glamorous life came crashing down when he was caught in an FBI drug trafficking sting, only to be acquitted on grounds of entrapment. The producers behind the film are working closely with DeLorean's son Zachary DeLorean, the executor of the DeLorean estate. The project is also based on the carmaker's unpublished memoirs, articles from Fortune and Time, as well...

Word association time! I only have one, and here it is: DeLorean.
If you didn’t respond with “Back to the Future” or some obvious derivation thereof — Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, flux capacitor, hoverboards, time travel — then we just don’t speak the same language. In the wide world of pop culture, John DeLorean’s stainless steel automobile — the Dmc-12 — is primarily known for its starring role as the time machine in “Back to the Future.”
The real story of DeLorean’s car and the company that produced it is far more sordid. Enough that the creator will be the subject of a biopic to be produced by Time Inc. Studios and Xyz Films, according to a report in Variety.
Time/Xyz are not alone in their pursuit of a John DeLorean biopic. They are in fact the third group to join the party of filmmakers looking to tell the auto-maker’s story.

Before you start twitching and shaking uncontrollably at the thought of Brett Ratner remaking Back to the Future, that's not what's going on here ... thank god. Instead, Variety tells us Ratner is teaming with James Toback and producer Robert Evans on a biopic about the rise and fall of the innovative car designer John DeLorean, whose car is most widely remembered as being used as a time machine in the Back to the Future trilogy.
Oh yes, if you're not a child of the 80s or a car nut, you probably have no idea who John Delorean is or that the Delorean automobile was named after an actual dude ... and that his story is interesting enough to spawn not one biopic, not two biopics, but three freakin' biopics!. John DeLorean designed one barmy car, inspired the creation of a time machine and then went bust and lost his company, being accused of drug trafficking in an attempt to save it. It's an interesting story, of course, but we're still surprised that it has inspired not one, not two but three biopics currently in production.Yes, Time Inc. Studios and Xyz are teaming up to bring a DeLorean biopic to the screen, based on a plethora of Time and Fortune magazine articles, Hillel Levin's DeLorean book "Grand Delusions" and an unpublished autobiographical memoir by DeLorean himself. They also boast the involvement of DeLorean's son (and executor) Zachary, and DeLorean's business partner Fred Dellis.Meanwhile, Brett Ratner's planning to direct a version of the story from a James Toback script with Robert Evans producing, and David Permut and Steven Lee Jones are producing another, based on DeLorean's attorney's life story.

Ahh the DeLorean Dmc-12. How many of us wanted one with a flux capacitor installed? Folks zipping around in a stainless steel-skinned DeLorean was the dream of the car's creator, John DeLorean, and the fantasy of choice for a whole generation who grew up on the 'Back to the Future' films, for whom time travel had never looked so cool.
Now, according to Variety, the real story of DeLorean’s car and the company that produced it will be the subject of a biopic to be produced by Time Inc. Studios and Xyz Films.
And in many ways, for those of us who loved Back to the Future as kids but are now adults, the real story of former Gm engineer and division head John DeLorean's creation turns out to be fascinating fodder for a biopic.

Car mogul and American-capitalism tragic figure, John Z. DeLorean, is getting the biography movie treatment according to Variety. David Permut and Steve Lee Jones will produce the flick, based on the life and times of the inventor of the DeLorean car made famous in the Back to the Future franchise. No word yet if he’s going to get credit for the flux capacitor: DeLorean made his mark as a Young Turk VP at General Motors in the 70s, helming the production of the Pontiac Gto and Firebird models. He branched out on his own to start his own company and make the now infamous Dmc-12. In 1982 he was arrested and charged with trafficking drugs to help his sinking company. He was released two years later on a technicality of entrapment.

When I was a kid, I was pretty convinced that DeLoreans were the coolest cars on the planet-- and also that all of them came with a flux capacitor and Mr. Fusion coffeemaker on the back. Yeah, the DeLorean probably wouldn't be nearly as treasured if it weren't for Back to the Future, but that doesn't mean that the car's eccentric creator, John Z. DeLorean, won't make a great subject for a movie. Producer Steven Lee Jones has secured the automaker's life rights, and he and David Permut will produce the biopic, according to Variety. DeLorean started his career as a VP at General Motors before creating his own DeLorean Dmc-12. The company began to falter when DeLorean himself was arrested in 1982 on drug trafficking charges, even though Back to the Future made the car an icon three years later. And maybe with the proper Huey Lewis soundtrack, this movie...
