Grew up in Virginia, Miami and Tennessee. Following two years of study
at Tulane University in New Orleans (1980-82), he completed his
undergraduate degree at the University of Miami, in Florida. Attended
graduate school at the University of Southern California. A one-year
stint with the Tennessee Film Commission (1988) came next, after which
he spent five years as Location Coordinator for the San Antonio Film
Commission. Freelance location managing followed, from 1994 until 2001,
when he became the Film Commissioner for San Antonio, Texas.
