TruTV has ordered 10 episodes of Motor City Masters, a competition series that aims to find America’s next great car designer. It’s slated to premiere in the summer. Produced by Bunim/Murray Productions and The Story Lab in collaboration with Chevrolet and hosted by Baywatch and Melrose Place alum Brooke Burns (Baywatch, Melrose Place), Motor City Masters will pit 10 designers against one another to test their limits of design expertise and creativity. The designs will be judged by Jean Jennings, president and editor in chief of Automobile magazine and renowned car designer Harald Belker. They will be joined each week by a special celebrity guest judge. The field will eventually be narrowed to two competitors, one of whom will be crowned “The Next Great Car Designer.” Winner receives a new 2014 Camaro Z28 and $100,000 cash, along with the opportunity to showcase his/her designs at major auto show exhibitions. If you are a Hollywood producer and need a vehicle designed that will grab the attention of moviegoers, then Harald Belker is one of the first designers that you give a ring. He has made quite a name for himself in Hollywood with his bold Batmbolie designs (1997's Batman and Robin), and sculpted a stunning future for vehicle designs with his groundbreaking work in Steven Spielberg's Minority Report. Recently, we featured Harald's amazing Superman: Flyby work, and now he has been kind enough to send us his latest contributions for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness and Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion. As for Star Trek Into Darkness, Harald designed Starfleet single seater and Klingon ships. You can view images of both designs below, but I would also encourage you to head on over to Film Sketchr, as they have a few more images and a rather candid interview with Harald Belker.

Phil Saunders is a conceptual, industrial and automotive designer, production illustrator, director and storyboard artist that has most recently been Marvel's go-to-artist for Iron Man, The Avengers, and of course the upcoming blockbuster, Iron Man 3. You can view his terrific artistic contributions for Joss Whedon's The Avengers by clicking here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, or here. If you can remember, just last month I posted Superman: Flyby artwork that was created by Harald Belker, which you can view by clicking here. Over the course of a major project, like a Superman film, it isn't uncommon to have several production designer come in, and put together their own art department. So when Arthur Max's art department went down (with Harald Belker), Owen Patterson was brought in, and he added Phil Saunders to his art department. As you'll see, Phil worked on some of the same concepts that Harald did,...

Harald Belker acquired a degree in Engineering and quickly began designing automobiles for some of the premiere car companies in the world, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. But his career path would take an unexpected turn, when Hollywood took an interest in him. It would be Warner Bros. who would first lure the talented designer to Tinseltown, as he made a splash with his bold designs of the Batmobile used in 1997's Batman and Robin. From that point on Belker has become one of the most sought after designers of movie vehicles. Perhaps his most significant achievement was his jaw-dropping futuristic vehicle designs for Steven Spielberg's Minority Report. I recently contacted Harald Belker and requested an interview. He graciously agreed and was kind enough to send over exclusive images that he created for Brett Ratner's ill-fated, Superman: Flyby, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and Jon Favreau's Iron Man. I'll assume...

Harald Belker, a former designer for Porsche and Mercedes-Benz has become a leading concept artist in the entertainment industry. He has desinged props, but it's his magnificent work on vehicles that has separated him from the pack. We here at ComicBookMovie.com would most recognize his vehicles designs from Tron: Legacy, Minority Report, and of course Joel Schumacher's masterpiece, Batman & Robin. Click Images to Enlarge "This could have been my last big-time movie car, since the trend is taking over of having car companies place their product in films. Inspired by the mask part of the suit costume, Tony Stark had to build his own super car. We were ready to build when the plug was pulled and Audi gave the money the producers needed to write it out of the script. Too bad - it would have been a b****ing toy." "Finished with the car, I jumped over to the suit.

Alex McDowell is one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed production designers. Here, in the first of two interviews, he looks back at his work on Steven Spielberg's Minority Report…
As Minority Report hits Blu-ray in the UK on Monday 17th May, we had the absolute pleasure of chatting at length with acclaimed production designer Alex McDowell. Here, he chats to us about bringing the look and feel of Minority Report to the big screen, and how to go about designing a futuristic movie that genuinely lasts. Here's what he had to say...
Let's start with perhaps an obvious question. Looking back at Minority Report now, what are your thoughts on the project?
There's a few things, really. It was a very important film for me because it really changed the way we worked. An accidental collision of time and technology and opportunity. Plus Spielberg was directing it, which empowered us.
