- Claude Blanchard was born on May 19, 1932 in Joliette, Québec, Canada. He was an actor and writer, known for Aujourd'hui ou jamais (1998), Omertà, la loi du silence (1996) and Animal Parade (1972). He died on August 20, 2006 in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
- Pop singer, comic, and actor best known for his starring role as a nightclub owner trying to break his mob connections in the CBC-TV miniseries "Music Hall", which was inspired by his life story. As a youth, he delivered groceries in the Montreal neighborhood that was home to the Cotroni crime family. In 1988, he was among several entertainers who performed at the maximum-security prison where Frank Cotroni was serving time for manslaughter.
- He got started in show business in 1946, when he and his sister Claudette teamed up in a vaudeville tap-dance act. He became a stand-up comic, produced cabaret shows, and managed a casino.
