Writer/director Kevin S. Tenney’s 1986 horror classic Witchboard (watch it Here) is getting the remake treatment couresty of director Chuck Russell, who was bringing us the likes of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and the remake of The Blob back in the days when Witchboard was gathering its earliest fans. The Witchboard remake doesn’t have a release date yet, but JoBlo’s own Tyler Nichols was able to watch it earlier this year (you can read his review at This Link) and talk to Russell and star Madison Iseman about it (you can watch the interview Here), so hopefully it won’t be much longer before more of us have the chance to see the movie. Highland Film Group has just come on board to handle the international distribution rights – and while they prepare to launch sales at the American Film Market, a new image...

Umberto Lenzi’s Nightmare Beach is a prime slice of late-’80s Italian horror filmmaking. Though it may not be as visually stylish as Dario Argento’s Opera or Michele Soavi’s The Church, the film nevertheless delivers the goods sought after by genre aficionados: set pieces of gory violence and unabashed nudity, a raucous heavy metal-infused soundtrack, and a complete disregard for conventional narrative logic. What’s more, in typically Italian fashion, Lenzi’s film gleefully smashes together various genre tropes in engagingly unpredictable fashion.

According to Deadline, Russell intends to go beyond the original Witchboard IP “with a deeper storyline, high intensity scares and imaginative visuals”. As such, the screenplay he has written with Greg McKay sounds quite different from the original film. Here’s the synopsis: Emily, her fiancé Christian and a group of their friends open an organic café, refurbishing an old carriage house in New Orleans’ French Quarter. But...

Drive-in critic Joe Bob Briggs just showed writer/director Kevin S. Tenney’s 1986 horror classic Witchboard (watch it Here) on his Shudder series The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs this past Friday, so today seems like the perfect day for a Witchboard remake casting announcement. Deadline reports that Madison Iseman of the short-lived I Know What You Did Last Summer TV series, Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), Antonia Desplat (Shantaram), and Charlie Tahan (Ozark) star in the film alongside the previously announced Jamie Campbell Bower, who caught a lot of attention last year for playing the villainous Vecna in season 4 of Stranger Things.
The Witchboard remake is currently filming in Montreal, despite being set in New Orleans.

Exclusive: Madison Iseman (Jumanji franchise), Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), Antonia Desplat (Shantaram) and Charlie Tahan (Ozark) have signed on to star alongside Stranger Things‘ Jamie Campbell Bower in Chuck Russell’s remake of the ’80s supernatural horror Witchboard, which is now in production in Montreal.
The new film watches as recovering drug addict Emily (Iseman), her fiancé Christian (Dominguez) and a group of their friends open an organic café, refurbishing an old carriage house in New Orleans’ French Quarter. A darkness descends over Emily when she discovers an ancient pendulum board, once used to summon spirits, with Christian then seeking help for Emily from occult expert Alexander Babtiste. Babtiste, however, has secrets of his own, knowing the fateful bloodlines that binds them all to the Witchboard. A modern coven of White Witches, a masked ball at Babtiste’s mansion, and the legacy of Naga Soth, the Queen of Witches,...

Writer/director Kevin S. Tenney’s 1986 horror classic Witchboard (watch it Here) is one of my all-time favorites, and we’ve been hearing rumblings of a remake for a long time now. Going all the way back to the 2007, in fact. Cyrus: Mind of a Serial Killer director Mark Vadik was attached to write and direct the film in 2011, then in 2019 we heard that Chuck Russell – whose credits include A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, The Blob (1988), The Mask, Eraser, and The Scorpion King – had signed on to direct the film. And it looks like the Witchboard remake is actually going to happen with Russell at the helm. Deadline reports that Russell has even found the first cast member for the project: Jamie Campbell Bower, who caught a lot of attention last year for playing the villainous Vecna (pictured below) in season 4 of Stranger Things.

Dustin Lynch offered up a pair of new songs on Friday. The surprise releases “Pasadena” and “Not Every Cowboy” are the country singer’s first new music to appear since his fourth album, Tullahoma, was released in early 2020.
In comparison to the Tullahoma singles “Good Girl” and “Ridin’ Roads,” both of Lynch’s new songs feel like back-to-basics, fiddle-friendly productions from collaborator Zach Crowell. “Pasadena” plays on the musicality of the California town’s name, its four syllables mirroring an ascending guitar and banjo run while Lynch, who co-wrote the...

Gary Allan will release his first album in eight years with Ruthless, a collection of 13 songs due June 25th. It’s the follow-up to 2013’s Set You Free and follows a string of one-off singles he has released beginning in 2015.
The album news arrives with the record’s lead-off track, “Temptation.” Written by Nicolle Galyon, Chase McGill, and Jon Nite, it’s a pulsing mid-tempo song with emphatic drum hits and atmospheric string sounds. “I’m over getting drunk on you, but I’m always gonna miss that taste,” Allan sings.

“It’s been way too long since you slipped away/I just can’t forget, I can’t pretend it’s Ok,” Alan Jackson sings in his new song “Where Have You Gone.” It could easily be about the lover who left him, but he quickly lays bare the subject of his lament: country music itself.
“Soft steel guitar, oh how I’ve missed you/words from the heart, let me hear you again,” Jackson sings in “Where Have You Gone,” the weeping steel-and-fiddle title track of his just announced new album.

The inspiration for Brooke Eden’s new song “Sunroof” actually came to her in a perfectly unlikely place: the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant. While she waited for her girlfriend to pick up their takeout order, Eden felt the sun beaming in through the windows and cracked the sunroof for the first time all year.

“Somebody’s Daughter” singer Tenille Townes has recorded a cover of Keith Urban’s hit “Stupid Boy” for Amazon Originals. The track is available for streaming on Amazon Music now.
“There’s an intensity and emotion in ‘Stupid Boy’ that is real and makes it a favourite of mine to sing & stand for,” Townes tweeted on Friday morning. And she brings that intensity to her recording of the song, letting her unmistakable voice conjure the emotion of a woman who was held back and mistreated by when she and the titular “boy” were together.

British Designer MacFarlane Will Dress Royal Bridesmaids
Fashion designer Nicki MacFarlane has been handed the honour of dressing Kate Middleton's bridesmaids for the royal wedding in London on Friday.
Details about dress designs for the bride-to-be have been a closely-guarded secret ever since the couple announced its engagement last year, but, on the eve of the big day, it has emerged the Brit has been selected to create gowns for the bridal party.
Middleton's sister Pippa will lead four other bridesmaids down the aisle at Westminster Abbey in custom-made Macfarlane outfits.
However, the bride-to-be has continued to keep fashion watchers guessing about whose creation she will wear when she exchanges vows with Prince William.
British designer Sophie Cranston's fashion house Libelula dismissed speculation the company had been commissioned to create Middleton's wedding dress, while Bruce Oldfield and Sarah Buxton, the creative director of late fashion king Alexander McQueen's label, have also been linked to the royal gown, which was designed and created at Buckingham Palace under royal watch.
Meanwhile, Alberta Ferretti has designed a dress for Prince Harry's girlfriend Chelsea Davy and Armani fashion chiefs have created a gown for Lady Frederick Windsor.

Cranston's Company Distances Itself From Royal Wedding Gown Story
Publishers for British designer Sophie Cranston's fashion house Libelula have dismissed reports suggesting the company has been commissioned to create Kate Middleton's wedding gown.
News website TheHuffingtonPost.com broke the Cranston story earlier this week (beg18Apr11) and correspondent Yvonne Yorke appeared on TV show Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday insisting she was 100 per cent sure her facts were right.
But on Thursday, a Libelula spokesperson released a statement, insisting the company had not been asked to design the royal wedding dress, which Middleton will wear when she exchanges vows with Prince William on 29 April.
The statement reads, "For the purpose of clarification, we are not designing Kate Middleton's wedding dress. We, like everyone else, can't wait to find out who is."
Designer Bruce Oldfield and Sarah Buxton, the creative director of late fashion king Alexander McQueen's company, have also been linked to the royal gown.
