Meredith Willson's beloved family musical, The Music Man, returns to the stage in an all-new concert staging starring the Marian of the classic film, Academy Award winner Shirley Jones, who will not only essay the role of Mrs. Paroo, but will serve as host and narrator. She will be joined on stage by her son, Patrick Cassidy as Prof. Harold Hill. A little known bit of Hollywood history Shirley was pregnant with Patrick during the filming ofThe Music Man.

Frequent listeners of the Sound On Sight podcast would have heard me discuss my day job working with kids. For the unfamiliar, I am the director of a community center, and the coordinator of a summer camp here in Montreal. At the start of the summer, I was talking to my kids about music and I discovered that none of them knew what a mix tape was, much less an audio cassette – so, I decided it would be a good idea to make them some complications. Of course, I’m not recording these on actual cassettes, but nevertheless, they get the idea. As it turns out, the kids love it, and now that the storyline in Guardians of the Galaxy revolves around a mix tape, they keep asking me to make more. Although DC have announced plans to bring quite a diverse mix of their comic book characters to the screen in various forms, I think an actual real-life Blue Devil movie might be expecting a bit much! Still, at least the various denizens of the Arrow universe can look forward to seeing one in 3D this Summer. If you're unfamiliar with the character, here's a breakdown from Wiki. Kill The Irishman is a film based on the true story of Danny Greene, a Cleveland man of humble origins and Irish ancestry. Greene never graduated high school, but had an abundance of both street smarts and intelligence, known for his impressive reputation for reading books. Greene was also a man who had both an intense, fundamental good nature matched only by his intimidating toughness and confidence. These traits would combine to mold the man into a legend on the streets of 1970.s Cleveland.

For most, the concept of a "devil" conjures images of the nether realm's most prominent demonoids—horned, hoofed and possibly tailed red dudes poised to torment with gusto. In short, devils are freakin' scary, and that's just what certain heroes count on to do their work in style.

Sure, calling yourself "devil" while doing good might seem like some kind of weird, ironic misnomer for those fighting on the side of the metaphorical angels. Whether by choice or circumstance, however, these heroes sport their archetypical underworld looks that haunt the nightmares of evildoers.

ABC Family has opted to pass on ordering a second season of its freshman sitcom, Ruby & the Rockits.

In Ruby & the Rockits, former teen icon Patrick Gallagher (Patrick Cassidy) has been living quietly with his wife (Katie A. Keane) and their two sons, teenage Jordan (Austin Butler) and sarcastic preteen Ben (Kurt Doss).

Things change when Patrick's former band-mate brother, David (David Cassidy), shows up with David's previously unknown teenage daughter, Ruby (Alexa Vega). David doesn't want to give up his show-biz life and leans on his brother to help raise his daughter, who's a rising star on her own.

Ruby And The Rockits debuted on July 21st to 1.6 million viewers and 654,000 in the 18-49 demographic, making it the second best sitcom launch in the network's history. It even built out of the audience of...

ABC Family found 10 things it likes about "10 Things I Hate About You," giving the freshman comedy an order for an additional 10 episodes.

Based on the feature of the same name, "10 Things I Hate About You" is a single-camera comedy about the Stratford sisters -- the strong-willed Kat (Lindsey Shaw) and social butterfly Bianca (Meaghan Jette Martin).

Carter Covington created and exec produces the series, whose pilot was directed by the film's helmer, Gil Junger.

In July, ABC Family gave a back-10 order to the new drama "Make It or Break It."

Meanwhile, the third member of ABC Family's summer 2009 freshman class, the comedy "Ruby & the Rockits," will not continue beyond its original 10 episode run. The network has decided not to order additional episodes from the sitcom starring Alexa Vega and David and Patrick Cassidy.

The Partridge Family was one of those cheesy 1970s sitcoms that was horribly predictable, sugary-sweet, and much of the plot revolved around David Cassidy's fluffy hair. And yet, I loved it, right down to the sappy song they played at the end of every episode.

If you, too, are a closet fan of The Partridge Family, here's your chance to catch a mini-reunion of the singing family. David Cassidy plays David Gallagher on the ABC Family show Ruby & The Rockits. Shirley Jones -- who played his mom on The Partridge Family -- will once again play that role on Ruby.

Ok, here's where things get complicated. In real life, Jones is Cassidy's stepmother. She's also mom to his co-star and brother Patrick Cassidy, who plays Patrick Gallagher on Ruby. Meanwhile, David's brother Shaun Cassidy serves as executive producer, and brother Ryan is the show's set decorator.

ABC Family's "Ruby & the Rockits" will be showing a new episode of the half-hour series on Tuesday, July 28. In "Save the Last Dunce for Me," Ruby helps plan a father-daughter dance with the student social committee.

David and Patrick argue about who will escort Ruby to the dance, with Ruby deciding to take David and Patrick agreeing to host the dance. The episode will also treat viewers to a "Rockits" music video flashback of "Chunnel of Love."

The series stars Alexa Vega, Patrick Cassidy, Katie Amanda Keane, Austin Butler, Kurt Doss and David Cassidy. The new episode will premiere at 8:30 pm Et on ABC Family on Tuesday, July 21.

Spy Kids star Alexa Vega is all set to join the ranks of pop star actresses after recording the theme to her new TV series Ruby & The Rockits.

Lost In Your Own Life will be released on 30 June and it won't be Vega's first pop venture - she recorded songs for the Spy Kids soundtrack.

The actress/singer, who also featured in Paris Hilton film Repo! The Genetic Opera and played Penny Pingleton in Hairspray on Broadway in 2007, will star opposite half brothers David and Patrick Cassidy in Ruby & The Rockits, which debuts in America in July.

Irish President Mary McAleese hailed the long association between Ireland and Hollywood while highlighting the latest round of financial boosts for filming in Ireland during a state visit to Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank on Monday night.

McAleese included her Hollywood visit as part of a larger California tour to boost Ireland's profile on the West Coast. The event at Warner Bros. was organized by the Irish Film Board and Enterprise Ireland. McAleese quipped that so popular have Hollywood films been in Ireland for so long that she suspected her children would prefer her to be president of Warner Bros. rather than president of Ireland.

Jonathan Loughran of the Irish Film Board's Los Angeles office noted that the presidential visit came at an important and exciting time for the Irish film industry.

ABC Family has picked up two half-hour pilots -- "10 Things I Hate About You," based on the film, and "Ruby and the Rockits," starring Alexa Vega -- and greenlighted an original movie with Joey Lawrence and Melissa Joan Hart.

Gil Junger, who directed the "10 Things" feature, is on board to direct the single-camera pilot as well as the untitled movie.
