The Devil in Ohio ending is a disquieting close to the Netflix miniseries, and some aspects may need to be explained for the story's full impact to be clear. Based on the book by Daria Polatin, the eight episodes of the 2022 miniseries followed hospital psychiatrist Suzanne Mathis (Emily Deschanel), a mother of three whose home life is slowly breaking down. Enter a mysterious runaway who arrives at the hospital, Mae (Madeleine Arthur). Mae is quiet and fiercely intelligent and immediately makes a bond with Suzanne. Suzanne brings Mae home and the young woman's horrifying backstory is unveiled.
Devil in Ohio features a strong cast of actors and an intriguing story about a cult who takes any measure to retrieve what they've lost. The tone, setting, and performances combine to create a chilling atmosphere that grows throughout before finally culminating in a thrilling ending. Devil in Ohio uses tropes from similar TV shows,...

Van Helsing Season 4 Episode 3
Axel’s back, and he’s made a new friend. And though Kelly Overton’s Vanessa is noticeably absent from the episode, Van Helsing continues to artfully employ its recurring characters and guest stars to great advantage. Everybody’s got an agenda, and “Love Less” draws the triangle of Vanessa, Blak Tek, and the Dark One just a little bit tighter.
Does any actor play moral ambiguity better than Richard Harmon (The 100; Continuum)? While it’s still too early to tell whether Max turns out to be the borderline sociopath we observe in his first few scenes, all indications point toward a man entirely comfortable profiting from the suffering of others. “I love this God damned apocalypse,...

Van Helsing Season 3 Episode 5
“Holy shit. You’re her.”
With Sam tucked safely away in the rear view mirror, Van Helsing turns its attention to Denver and San Francisco for two radically different perspectives of life during the later stages of the vampire apocalypse. While one group struggles to leave the past behind them and successfully integrate into what passes for a new normal, “Pretty Noose” reminds us that despite the clean beds and three square meals a day, Vanessa’s showdown with The B’ah still controls the narrative. And whether in the relative comfort of the Mile High city or the newly dangerous Bay Area, the specter of everything that’s happened over the past four years still hangs heavily overhead.

"Five little Rangers - how cute." Lionsgate has unveiled another brand new 60-second trailer for the Power Rangers movie, directed by Dean Israelite, in theaters in March - about a month from now. The full trailer hit just last month, but this new trailer has even more footage - including a few scenes with Rita Repulsa gearing up to take on the cute little Power Rangers. The cast is lead by: Naomi Scott as The Pink Ranger, Becky G. as The Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as The Black Ranger, Rj Cyler as The Blue Ranger, and Dacre Montgomery as The Red Ranger. Also starring Bryan Cranston as Zordon, Bill Hader as the voice of Alpha 5, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, as well as David Denman, Sarah Grey, Emily Maddison, and Caroline Cave. I'm not sure if this will be any good in the end, but it does look like it'll be fun to see.

"It's Morphin' time!" Lionsgate has debuted a second trailer for their new Power Rangers movie, directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac). This definitely looks like a lot like Chronicle with a bit of Iron Man, but instead of a billionaire engineer, we have five high school kids who end up gaining superpowers and stepping into colorful sci-fi suits. This actually looks more entertaining than I was expecting, but I'm still not sure if it's going to be any good. Here's the second official trailer...

"I'm not the same..." Lionsgate has revealed the first full-length teaser trailer for the new live-action Power Rangers movie, from the director of Project Almanac. They're bringing back the classic colored superkids for an epic sci-fi movie and it looks pretty cool at first glance. The cast is lead by: Naomi Scott as The Pink Ranger, Becky G. as The Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as The Black Ranger, Rj Cyler as The Blue Ranger, and Dacre Montgomery as The Red Ranger. This also features Bryan Cranston as Zordon, Bill Hader as the voice of Alpha 5, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, as well as David Denman, Sarah Grey, Emily Maddison, and Caroline Cave. This teaser ends right when it's getting good (revealing their outfits), but so far I'm admittedly intrigued. This trailer also features the song "I Walk The Line" by Halsey. Take a look. That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane... Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn, world serves its own needs, regardless of your own needs. Tell me with the rapture and the reverent in the right - right? You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched.

Chicago – The DVD Round-Up has traveled the globe this week to bring you a diverse slate of under-the-radar titles received in the HollywoodChicago.com offices this holiday season. With so many major releases this time of year, it’s hard to cover everything, but we wanted to make sure you knew these were out there in case you have a gift card burning a hole in your pocket.
One quick note: We don’t usually inject opinion into the DVD Round-Up. It’s a recurring column merely designed for informational purposes regarding some lower profile titles new on shelves. We’d like to make a rare exception for “Sita Sings the Blues,” a simply wonderful animated film that we only wish we had more time to spotlight but that we wanted to make sure you knew was available before the end of the year. Don’t just go rent it.

Lionsgate's new "Saw VI" movie delivered more guts, gore, and brutality,as they released the 6th installment of this ever-going franchise this weekend. It stars : Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Mark Rolston, Peter Outerbridge, Shawnee Smith, Samantha Lemole, Caroline Cave, George Newbern, Darius McCrary, Shauna MacDonald, Devon Bostick, and Tanedra Howard. "Saw VI" continued where it left off in "Saw V," with Hoffman watching Agent Peter Strahm get crushed after tricking him. However, it did start off with another vicious Jigsaw game that involved a guy cutting out his guts, and a woman chopping off her arm to save her life. Detectives from the past were brought back to figure out the continuing Jigsaw murders.Unfortunately, they didn't survive long, once Hoffman figured out they were on to him.

You know, if the Saw nurse ever came for me with a syringe, I think I would run. After thinking about it. I mean, sure, she’s hot and all, but come on, she’s coming at me with a syringe and her dress is made of syringes. That’s pretty creepy. Then again, she is pretty hot, so… Nah, yeah, I would run. Probably. Anyways, new “Saw VI” posters for Lionsgate’s daily Blood Drive via Yahoo! Movies. This time the spam fodder includes Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Shawnee Smith, Betsy Russell, Peter Outerbridge, Mark Rolston, Tanedra Howard, Karen Cliche, Shauna MacDonald, James Van Patten, Caroline Cave, James Gilbert, Devon Bostick, Jon Mack, Shawn Ahmed. Fans of the Saw franchise, get ready for a slice of coolness. Over on director Kevin Greutert's website, hes posted a list of cast members with photos and a truckload of behind-the-scenes images. Kevin Greutert may be best-known as the editor on the Five films in the Saw franchise, along with editing The Strangers, Repo! The Genetic Opera, Room 6, and more. While production has been quiet, and news has been light, Greutert now joins James Wan, Darren Lynn Bousman, and David Hackl in putting his own directorial stamp on the saga with Saw VI.
Over the past month, the director has been quietly blogging away on his official site, largely staying under-the-radar.
This morning, Fango got a tip that new casting announcements and behind-the-scenes photos had arrived on the blog, and indeed that proved to be true.
"Last night Maple Pictures here in Toronto hosted a press junket (my first! yikes, I Hate being filmed…) I was told that I could discuss most of our new Canadian cast members (Peter Outerbridge has of course already been announced), so I think that frees...
