Source Image: Amazon It was 20 years ago that one of the new millennium’s most addictive nighttime soaps, Desperate Housewives, premiered. It was often outrageously campy — as creator Marc Cherry intended it to be — but it also sustained its dramatic storylines over the course of eight seasons and 180 episodes, earning 38 Emmy Award nominations along the way. During the show’s run, Cherry served as the show’s producer and wrote several episodes. And while the show featured a large ensemble cast of memorable characters, Over the years we have spoken to and he said his favorites were Gabrielle and Carlos Solis, played by Eva Longoria and Ricardo Chavira, simply because they were the ones most capable of taking things over the top in terms of the show’s comedy. Desperate Housewives cast is open to returning for a revival, hinting at a potential comeback with original characters front and center. A potential revival would need to honor the show's rich history and original cast, rather than wiping the slate clean for a reboot. Wisteria Lane and its core characters were essential to the show's success, making a comeback without them seem like a pale imitation.
Desperate Housewives is one of few shows where the cast is still interested in returning following a long and successful run, but it would only work under one condition. The hit drama focused on the lives and loves of a group of women living in the fictional Wisteria Lane. Each of the eight seasons had an overarching mystery that left many questions about what was happening behind closed doors for the cul-de-sac's residents. It's to get back to business.
Will Trent suffered the trauma of losing Cricket and saw James Ulster, but for now, the series has turned back to the case of the week instead.
Spoilers for Will Trent Season 2 Episode 3 suggest that a corrupt politician was involved in a woman's disappearance, even though he appeared charming. Elsewhere, Angie returns to the force and investigates a sauna murder with Michael.
Politicians always have secrets they want to take to their graves, and they come out right before a big ceremony.
That's no different from when Ricardo Chavira portrays Councilman Victor Carrey, an ambitious politician and devoted family man. Chaos hits when several locals die, and one of his female interns ends up missing.
We don't know much about the dead locals, but the promo teases that the other woman, Isabella, was kidnapped.
Faith apparently recognizes some pre-natal vitamins and guesses that Isabella is pregnant.

One of the things that gave Desperate Housewives its staying power was the fact that so many people had different favorite characters. Whether it was the idea that you could relate to one of them or you loved to hate them, the show’s writers gave us plenty of memorable characters to choose from. Marc Cherry knows that all too well — he created the show, and he once told us that he had his favorites: Gabrielle and Carlos Solis, played by Eva Longoria and Ricardo Chavira. Glamorous was released on Netflix, and according to its ending, a Glamorous season 2 may be on the horizon. Kim Cattrall sat out the first season of And Just Like That... before announcing her return in season 2. However, in the meantime, she took on the role of Madolyn in Glamorous, the owner of a legacy makeup company in need of some reinvention. The show shined a spotlight on queer voices and storylines, which was exciting in a world of recycled tv plots. Cattrall's character is stern and intimidating but also kind and open-minded with employees and her business.
Madolyn's personality in Glamorous made it easy to root for her instead of siding with Vendemiaire, the company trying to buy Glamorous by Madolyn and steal Madolyn's ideas. While Cattrall is the best-known actor in the series, Marco, played by Ben J Pierce, is the show's real star. Marco is a gender non-conforming...

‘Glamorous’ Trailer: Kim Cattrall Gets Her ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Moment in Netflix Queer Comedy Series

Netflix’s upcoming series “Glamorous” is like “The Devil Wears Prada” if Meryl Streep were replaced by “Sex and the City’s” Kim Cattrall and instead of Anne Hathaway, she hired drag queens and non-binary actor Miss Benny to work for her. The 10-episode LGBTQ comedy series premieres June 22 on the streamer.
“Glamorous” follows baby-faced new hire Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a young, queer man who lands a job for the legendary CEO Madolyn Addison (Cattrall). Madolyn’s makeup line, Glamorous Cosmetics, is plummeting. Suspecting her business is being sabotaged by someone on the inside, she hires Marco to sleuth around.
“She wants him to be her eyes and ears, to make friends — and find out what’s going on behind her back, to discover what they’re hiding and what they’re stealing. In exchange, she’ll teach Marco everything she knows – but she warns him, ‘This business isn’t all glitter and glamour,...

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria reveals she would be interested in a revival. The series, created by Marc Cherry, premiered on ABC in 2004 and quickly found success, generating impressive ratings during its eight-season run. It explored the lives of four women residing in a seemingly picture-perfect community while uncovering many of their secrets through the narration of deceased neighbor Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong). Longoria portrayed Gabrielle Solis, a former model whose complicated marriage to Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) was an important storyline throughout.
A Desperate Housewives reboot has already been dismissed by several cast members, but Longoria still appears eager to return. In a recent interview with Access, the star shared that she would "be the first to sign up" for a potential revival but admitted that it seems unlikely to happen. Read Longoria's comments regarding a Desperate Housewives revival below:
"She'd be an influencer for sure. She'd be a social media mogul.

Our heroes have a way of letting us down.
Ruzek learned that lesson for the umpteenth time during Chicago Pd Season 9 Episode 6. He started the hour eager to work with family friend Sal Ortiz and ended it arresting the man and wondering if he'll ever reach a similar place.
And Paddy Flueger and guest-star Ricardo Chavira killed it during this installment.
While the case was interesting, it was one of those hours when most of the focus was on the personal elements and how their latest investigation affected one of the unit members. In this instance, it was a Ruzek-centric and a solid effort to show how much he's grown.
It seems to be a pattern that some of Ruzek's mentors and father figures are at best complex individuals and worse, downright awful ones. If he hasn't learned anything by now, it's that the men he's placed on pedestals in...

The EPs and stars of Selena: The Series gathered for a virtual Atx panel on Saturday, to reflect on their tribute to music and fashion icon, Selena Quintanilla.
“Selena forever!” said creator and executive producer Moisés Zamora, who noted that making this show was a “once-in-a-lifetime thing.”
Returning with its second and final set of episodes in May, Selena: The Series followed the late Mexican-American singer from her childhood through her rise to fame, as the most successful female Latin artist of all time, watching as she and her family were forced to make life-altering choices, during her journey to the top.
Creatives from the show joining Zamora for today’s pre-recorded conversation were EP Jaime Dávila, Christian Serratos, who portrayed Selena, and actor Ricardo Chavira, who played her father, Abraham.
During the conversation, Zamora further touched on the outsized impact the musician had before her untimely death, at age 23, and following it,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Selena: The Series Part 2,” streaming now on Netflix.
As the 18-episode saga of singer-songwriter Selena Quintanilla’s (played by Christian Serratos) rise to stardom came to a close, it had to do so with her untimely death at the hands of her former fan club president Yolanda Saldivar (Natasha Perez).
But because the Netflix drama was designed to be a celebration of her life, her music and her family, the tragic shooting was not shown on-screen. Instead, Selena staunchly defended her friend and stood by her side, even after her father Abraham (Ricardo Chavira) proved Yolanda was embezzling. She took her call when Yolanda said something terrible had happened to her in Mexico and followed her to a motel, where the point of view switched to that of a hospitality worker cleaning another room. An off-camera gunshot rang out,...

Sebastian Stan and Denise Gough set off on a whirlwind weekend romance in Monday, a romantic drama that IFC Films released in theaters and on-demand Friday.
It’s the fourth feature from director Argyris Papadimitropoulos, who also wrote and produced the film.
Here is the plot: When Mickey (Stan) is dragged away from his DJ set by a drunken friend and introduced to Chloe (Gough) one hot summer night in Athens, the attraction between the pair is immediately palpable. So palpable that before they know it they’re waking up naked on the beach Saturday morning. And so it goes that a one-night stand on Friday turns into a whirlwind weekend romance that leads to serious conversations when they face the harsh sunlight on Monday morning.
The pic was an official selection at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival and the 2020 Toronto Film Festival. Check out the trailer below.

It’s the summer of 2013 and spray cans rattle as Reefa (Tyler Dean Flores), an ambitious, 18-year-old graffiti artist, paints his signature symbol — an eye surrounded by flower petals — illegally on a wall in his suburban Miami neighborhood. Later his father (José Zúñiga) a Colombian immigrant nervously awaiting the arrival of the family’s green cards, discovers it, and forces Reefa to whitewash over it before the authorities arrive. Prickling with adolescent resentment, the young man does so, and inadvertently supplies Jessica Kavana Dornbusch’s true-story biopic with an unfortunate parallel: “Reefa,” based on an enraging, heartbreaking real-life event, paints over the colors, creativity and chaos of its true-life tragedy with layers of film-convention formula.
Reefa is a good-looking skateboarder, cocksure about his artistic talent and eager to break into Miami’s tagging scene prior to moving to New York — the erstwhile home of his heroes Basquiat, Warhol and Haring — to attend art school.

Selena Quintanilla Perez is a name etched in pop culture history, known to many as the subject of the 1997 biopic starring Jennifer Lopez as much as she is known to several generations of Latinx girls. Her tragic death — murdered at the age of 23 — enhances this mythos, a fact often enhanced by what both the “Selena” feature and Netflix’s new series situate as a “we should have seen it coming” undercurrent. “Selena: The Series” no doubt will inspire a new generation of Selena fans, but the story it tells over its first nine episode is one that feels highly sanitized, controlled and, ultimately, upsetting.
“Selena: The Series” certainly knows what it wants to say — that it’s leading lady was a good girl, a brilliant singer, and a woman on the cutting edge of the music scene who would have created a revolution if given the chance. Unfortunately, by putting...

It didn’t take long for the world for Selena Quintanilla to become a household, first-name only icon. Breaking numerous barriers in the music industry, she quickly became the Queen of Tejano Music and went on to leave an amazing legacy before her untimely death. With Netflix’s Selena: The Series (dropping December 4), show creator Moises Zamora dives deep into Selena’s life and music in a family drama that puts the spotlight on the Mexican American experience in South Texas that, in turn, tells the story of the American Dream.
Many may know the 1997 movie Selena starring Jennifer Lopez, but the new series takes its time to paint a detailed portrait of the Quintanilla family. Zamora has been working with Jaime Davila’s Campanario Entertainment for over two years to bring Selena’s story to life.He said that they wanted to approach this series through a wholesome and inspirational lens.

During the first episode of Netflix’s “Selena: The Series,” about the titular Tejano music superstar, the patriarch of the family, Abraham Quintanilla Jr. (Ricardo Chavira), strums his guitar as his 8-year-old daughter Selena (Madison Taylor Baez) sings the popular 1970s song “Feelings” like any gifted little girl would.
“The notes are good, you’re just not…” her father says as he explains that to be a compelling singer, one must tap into their own life experiences. Her mother interjects that Selena is too young to understand what lyrics like “trying to forget my feelings of love” really mean.
Those genuine emotions needed to express what’s inside someone’s heart may not have existed in Selena as a kid, but during her fleeting 23 years of life — much of it spent performing center stage and beloved by countless fans —her music elicited a response that could only be described as deep adoration.
