On Friday night, the lobby of the Apollo Theater was filled with life-size photos of artists together, two by two: Lisa and Tyla, Reneé Rapp and Cynthia Erivo, Bruce Springsteen and Zach Bryan, and more. They were shots from Rolling Stone’s sixth-annual Musicians on Musicians issue, and on this night the franchise had taken over the historic Harlem theater.
Musicians on Musicians is where artists come together to interview each other, and at Friday’s sold-out event, that spirit of collaboration and conversation was palpable, live and in person.

As Thanksgiving fast approaches, Stephen Colbert had a reminder for viewers: “There’s gonna be a lot of feelings around the table, and it is our job to eat them all.” So, to finish out his monologue, he got a headstart.
Granted, he first said a quick thank you to “Turkey Jesus” for Matt Gaetz dropping out of consideration to be Donald Trump’s next attorney general — “Gobble bless you,” he joked Thursday night — and ran down the findings of federal investigators regarding Gaetz’s sexual misconduct allegations.
But as the monologue came to an end, Colbert noted that, with everything going on in politics and the rest of the world, “we’re gonna all need to cram in all the comfort food we can this holiday season.” So, he was happy to report a “scientific breakthrough” in the world of desserts.

Stephen Colbert got in the Thanksgiving mood as he thanked “Sweet Turkey Jesus” on Thursday’s (November 21) episode of The Late Show after the news broke that Matt Gaetz had withdrawn as Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general. “We have something to be thankful for because this afternoon, Matt Gaetz withdrew as Trump’s nominee for attorney general,” Colbert said in his opening monologue as the studio audience cheered. “Oh, my goodness, isn’t that pleasant? That’s so nice. Thank you, Sweet Turkey Jesus! Gobble bless you.” Trump announced he would nominate the former U.S. representative for Florida to serve as attorney general on November 13. This led to immediate backlash, including from some Senate Republicans, as Gaetz had previously been accused of child sex trafficking and statutory rape. “As as you know, Gaetz’s nomination has been opposed by many Republican senators, especially after two women claimed Gaetz paid them for sex,...

One week before Thanksgiving, Stephen Colbert already has something to be thankful for. Matt Gaetz withdrew as Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general. And as the Late Show host waved goodbye, he made sure to remind everyone of the allegations against Gaetz.
Colbert barely had time to recover from Trump's election victory before a series of shocking cabinet nominations began to roll in. None seemed as outlandish to the comedian as Matt Gaetz for attorney general. After all, the Florida congressman was the subject of a scandalous ethics investigation.
Now it appears as if the findings of that investigation were enough to convince Gaetz he wouldn't be confirmed as Ag, nor was the public firestorm worth it. But Stephen Colbert wants to make sure nobody forgets just what Gaetz is accused of doing.

Anya Taylor-Joy made headlines when she bared skin in a backless dress earlier this year and Elizabeth Olsen just rocked the same look!
Elizabeth wore the burgundy leather mini dress from Mugler while attending her Flaunt Magazine cover party on Wednesday night (November 20) in Los Angeles.
Anya wore the daring dress back in May 2024 when she was making an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in New York City to promote her movie Furiosa.
While Anya didn’t wear undergarments below the dress and put her back on display, Elizabeth wore matching tights under the dress. We didn’t get a peek at the backside to see how she styles the other side of the look.
Elizabeth recently opened up about her future in the MCU.

President Biden celebrated his 82nd birthday on Wednesday, so Stephen Colbert got him a cake. Well, he tried to at least. The CBS late night host joked that Nancy Pelosi shut the idea down.
The attempted celebration came right at the top of Colbert’s monologue, as he noted that Wednesday was a big day “for a very special boy down in Washington D.C.” The moment earned a huge cheer from the audience, prompting proper wishes from the host.
“Happy Birthday Joe! We got you a cake, but Nancy Pelosi insisted you sacrifice it for the good of democracy,” he joked, holding up an empty plate with number candles on it.
Colbert also pointed out that this year would be President Biden’s last birthday in the White House, before putting on his aviators to impersonate what he figured Biden was doing all day.

Kacey Musgraves stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night to perform “Arm’s Length,” a song that appeared on Deeper Well: Deeper Into the Well, the expanded edition of her acclaimed 2024 album Deeper Well.
Bathed in reverb and backed by her denim-donned five-piece band, Musgraves provides a gorgeous rendition of “Arm’s Length.” Despite such a warm arrangement, Musgraves sings of a relationship rendered cold and distant: “I gave you water/ But I couldn’t make you drink/ Keepin’ me just within reach/ Always holding me at arms length,” she sings as the band behind her swells. Watch her performance of “Arm’s Length” below.

Stephen Colbert has a pretty successful gig as host of The Late Show. But that doesn't meant he comedian is satisfied. Colbert used his monologue on Monday night to ask for a job in Donald Trump's new administration.
Since winning the election earlier this month, Trump has wasted no time in filling out his cabinet. Controversial picks like Matt Gaetz, Kristi Noem, Pete Hegseth, and Dr. Oz have kept late-night TV hosts like Colbert busy.
There seems to be a common theme among many of President-elect Trump's cabinet picks: they're frequent television personalities. So if that's part of the criteria for a job in the Trump administration, Stephen Colbert wants in.
"Everyone with a TV show gets a call," Colbert said of Trump's cabinet nominations. "Where's my job offer?"
Colbert even had a deal in place for Trump to secure a job in the upcoming administration. "I will stop talking about you altogether,...

After the recent string of Donald Trump‘s TV-famous cabinet picks, The Late Show‘s Stephen Colbert is wondering why he hasn’t been offered a position in the administration yet. The late-night host opened Tuesday’s (November 19) episode by continuing to analyze the president-elect’s baffling cabinet picks, which now includes former WWE CEO Linda McMahon as his Secretary of Education and Dr. Mehmet Oz as the man in charge of Medicaid and Medicare. Focusing on the Dr. Oz news, Colbert said Trump is “still just picking people he sees on TV” before joking, “Next up, the head of Amtrak goes to Thomas the Tank Engine.” “In a statement, Trump talked about Oz’s education, his surgical work. Meow, meow, meow… then the real reason he picked him: ‘He won nine Daytime Emmy Awards hosting The Dr. Oz Show,’” Colbert continued. “I didn’t know winning TV awards qualified...

Like other late night hosts, Stephen Colbert was pretty amused by Donald Trump’s latest photo-op, in which he posed with members of his cabinet on a plane while sharing a McDonald’s meal with them. But Colbert is also pretty sure Trump committed his worst crime yet with that meal.
During his monologue on Monday night, the CBS host ran down exactly what Trump order, noting that it wasn’t a surprise because he’s the “commander-in-beef.” The order was apparently “the largest of all the meal deals,” comprised of a Big Mac, fries, Fanta and a filet-o-fish.
“Look, I know Trump has been accused and found guilty of many crimes. But certainly none worse than ‘Brings filet-o-fish on a plane,'” Colbert quipped. “Why don’t you just microwave it?”

Stephen Colbert opened Monday’s (November 18) episode of The Late Show by focusing on that photo of Donald Trump and his associates on his private jet, describing the group as “a Jeffrey Epstein tribute band.” The photo sees the president-elect alongside his son Donald Trump Jr., tech billionaire Elon Musk, health and human services nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and House Speaker Mike Johnson. The group poses for the camera while eating McDonald’s. “This is no surprise,” Colbert said. “As commander-in-beef, Trump ordered the largest of all the meal deals with a Big Mac, fries, a Fanta, and a Filet-o-Fish.” It was that last item that the late-night host found particularly egregious. “Look, I know Trump has been accused and found guilty of many crimes. The opening credits to last night’s broadcast of “Saturday Night Live” told viewers they’d get to see something they really like: a new short film from Please Don’t Destroy, the small troupe of writers who make frenetic vignettes that often shock as much as they delight. What was delivered, however, was decidedly different.
The three-person “Pdd” team did turn up on screen, but not during the show. Instead, members Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy were part of a commercial from insurance giant Allstate that appeared during an ad break and had the trio holding forth opposite “Mayhem,” the longstanding ad character who has been played by actor Dean Winters for more than a decade. The original Please Don’t Destroy sketch that was supposed to air on “SNL” was cut by producers due to time constraints, according to a person familiar with the matter, and has been made available online.

Why Did Julia Roberts Turn Down A Major Hollywood Rom-Com? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Julia Roberts, the rom-com queen, reportedly passed on The Proposal. The movie that gave us Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock’s epic chemistry could’ve had Julia in the lead. But she said no. Bullock took it from there, turning it into a rom-com classic.
Here’s the kicker: Roberts didn’t ghost the rom-com world by choice. “If I had read something at the Notting Hill or My Best Friend’s Wedding level, I would’ve done it,” she spilled to The New York Times. Basically, she has been holding out for that perfect, laugh-out-loud script—and trust us, the wait has been real.

Many of Donald Trump’s nominees for cabinet positions have raised eyebrows (or even alarm bells), but the decision to name Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services had America’s late-night comedy hosts in a tizzy. All of them except for Jimmy Fallon — he did plenty of jokes at Trump’s expense but appears to have taped before the Kennedy announcement.
Rfk Jr.’s famous disdain for traditional medicine made him an out-of-left-field choice — and obvious fodder for these eight jokes…

“Donald Trump continued his exhaustive search for the most qualified people within his line of sight, and he has chosen anti-vaxx nepo maniac Robert F. Matt Gaetz is not a particularly reputable politician. Few politicians can be spoken in the same sentence as the word as "reputable" without eliciting laughter, but Gaetz is a particularly notable example of sordid behavior. The politician was accused of statutory rape, child sex trafficking and illegal drug use in 2020, and subsequently investigated by Department of Justice.
What a difference a few years makes. Gaetz was recently nominated by president-elect Donald Trump for the position of Attorney General, and the general public, late night hosts included, were stunned. Stephen Colbert was beside himself during his recent Late Show monologue, but we aren't here to focus on that.

Another day, another shocking cabinet nomination by Donald Trump. The president-elect's announcement that Robert Kennedy, Jr. will head the Department of Health and Human Services prompted a swift response from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
For those keeping score at home, President Trump's cabinet is set to include Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, Pete Hegseth, Matt Gaetz, and now Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Colbert called it an exhaustive search to find the most qualified people in Trump's line of sight.
"I know that sounds insane," Colbert said of Kennedy's nomination. "But we should all keep an open mind ... because that's how the worm gets in." The Late Show host also sarcastically said that Kennedy running the nation's health is exactly what the country voted for and will surely lower the price of eggs.

Celebrity interviews can get a bit monotonous if not done right but leave it to Rebecca Ferguson to keep the hosts on their toes. Whether it’s being completely unfiltered on the couch or bringing a little chaos to the set, the actress knows how to make a lasting impression on both the interviewer and the viewers.

Talking about those very well-known awkward moments where you end up saying something you shouldn’t have, she shared an anecdote that left host Stephen Colbert absolutely shocked and silenced. And maybe even a little impressed.

Still stunned by Donald Trump’s nominations Wednesday of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General and Fox & Friends host Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary, late night comedians had a new shock Trump appointment to dissect Thursday, that of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Stephen Colbert broke the news to some of his audience as the announcement had just been made moments before the Late Show taping.

Stephen Colbert is going to have a lot of material for the next four years. All the late night hosts are going to, thanks to Donald Trump's election triumph, but Colbert has been one of the most consistent when it comes to Trump bashing.
The Late Show host has had plenty to say about the outcome of the election, and even more to say about the politicians that have been appointed to Trump's cabinet this week. Colbert took particular umbrage with U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, who was nominated for the role of Secretary of State.
The host mocked Marco Rubio for kissing up to Trump
Rubio has been a vocal critic of Trump's in the past, and Colbert did not let this fact slide. The host proceeded to lay into the U.S. Senator for blatantly changing his tune in order to advance his own career:

Jay Leno may not be the most beloved late night host, but he is certainly among the most famous. He was a small screen fixture for three decades, and he succeeded thanks to a comedic streak that was affable and accessible to all.
Leno retired from The Tonight Show in 2014, but five years later, he went on Today to detail the ways in which late night has suffered in the modern era. He singled out Donald Trump as the figure that has changed the landscape of late night, and lamented the days when fans were unaware of the beliefs of a given host.

Stephen Colbert spent the majority of his opening monologue on Wednesday night’s “Late Show” talking about President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet choices so far, including Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida as attorney general and Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence.
“Almost eight years ago, we all saw [Trump] saunter down those Capitol steps, put his hand on a Bible, lie to the chief justice about defending the Constitution and then give an extremely accurate speech about the coming American carnage. And I’ve been saying, quite sincerely, ‘Hey! Let’s not get out over our skis here. Let’s take this one day at a time. Maybe, maybe betting against all logic and all previous experience, it’ll be different this time,'” Colbert said at the beginning of his monologue. “I was right. ‘Cause it’s already way worse.”

Donald Trump is working quickly to put together his cabinet, making some surprising picks for key roles in his administration. Stephen Colbert weighed in on the news and compared the incoming administration to "giant piles of trash."
Colbert used the trash analogy to segue from covering New York City's proposed ban on "trash mountains." But even without that lead-in, the Late Show monologue likely would have found another way to insult Team Trump.
The late-night host focused on reports that Marco Rubio will be Trump's secretary of state and Kristi Noem will serve as head of homeland security. Colbert noted that staying in Trump's good graces and praising the incoming president secured the politicians their titles.

In an act of sheer chaos, People has declared John Krasinski as the “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2024 — a title that would have been far more fitting for the actor a decade ago at the height of The Office.

People Magazine announced its 2024 “Sexiest Man Alive” during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Over the years, many famous men, including a former soap star, have graced the cover.
Soap’s Sexiest Men Alive
The only ex-daytime soap actor ever named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” was All My Children alum Michael B. Jordan, who took the title in 2020. His post-soap career has included Black Panther, the Creed movies, and 2013’s Fruitvale Station.
Although technically, Brad Pitt did appear in two episodes of Another World back in 1987. Apparently, it was his first speaking role on TV. Pitt would go on to achieve Holywood A-List status and be named “Sexiest Man Alive” twice — in 1995 and 2000.
However, a number of soap stars have appeared in the issues over the years. The Young and the Restless star Shemar Moore was featured in the 2017 issue. He famously told his mom that he’s “still got it.

Chris Wallace may not be the most obvious artistic muse, but Grammy-winner Jon Batiste owes some credit to the veteran newsman for inspiring his latest musical experiment.
Last year, the pianist and composer was a guest on the CNN/Max show Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace. Remarking on how Batiste bridges divides with such category-scrambling efforts as his album World Music Radio and his magnum opus American Symphony (inspiring the Oscar-nominated doc of the same name) Wallace put him on the spot. “Can you show us how you can break a barrier, a musical barrier, go from one genre to another,” he asked.
The New Orleans native — whose career has taken him from Juilliard to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to the highest echelons of jazz, pop and classical — happily obliged.
He turned to the piano and began playing Beethoven’s Für Elise, gradually infusing it with blue notes and gospel chords.
