Credits also include creator of the LGBTQ series "Dante's Cove", exciting VR experiences, and writer/director of the acclaimed indie horror film "The Collingswood Story".
Years before Zoom and FaceTime, Mike C. comprised his 2002 micro-budget chiller of video chats. His cutting edge concept helped pave the way for future films such as "Host", "Paranormal Activity", and "Unfriended". Today "The Collingswood Story" is recognized as "the first screenlife film."
Upon its initial release "The Collingswood Story" became an indie thrill sensation with quotes that included "A Low Budget Triumph", "Inventive and Frightening", and "The Best Low Budget Horror Movie Since The Blair Witch Project". Empire Magazine, Dreamwatch, SFX and journalist Kim Newman also praised the film.
In October of 2021, "The Collingswood Story" was released on Blu-Ray disk and is available on Prime Video. "I completed TCS in 2002", Mike says, "when video chatting was in its infancy. I was inspired to structure an entire film based on each character's online video interactions. For the 2021 release I re-mastered the original footage and color graded in DaVinci Resolve. I was ecstatic when the folks at Diabolik DVD contacted me expressing their enthusiasm for a Blu-Ray release. I'm grateful for their passion in this micro-budget film. And with TCS on Prime Video I am equally ecstatic."
In August of 2022, Bloody Disgusting recognized the film as "The first true Screenlife horror flick. Michael Costanza's The Collingswood Story was the first scary movie to take webcam-based narratives seriously."
MC's unyielding passion for filmmaking and his dedication to his craft continues to inspire him to create groundbreaking and inspiring content.
