The popular CBS comedy series originally ran for 12 seasons on the network, and now airs via syndication, and is available to stream online.

Throughout the series’ 12 seasons, the show aired 279 episodes, centering on roommates and friends Leonard and Sheldon learn about the social aspects of life through their relationships with the beauty who lives next door.

Across its run, the show won several accolades, including 10 Emmy awards, three TCA Awards, a Golden Globe and seven Critics’ Choice Awards.

Starring in the hit sitcom were Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg and Melissa Rauch, as well as Sara Gilbert, Kevin Sussman and Laura Spencer.

Despite being the central couple in The Big Bang Theory, Penny and Leonard’s relationship has always been one of the biggest criticisms of the sitcom. Introduced at the very start, their relationship goes through various phases before eventually culminating in marriage.

For 12 seasons and the same number of years, Jim Parsons played the stubborn, brilliant scientist Sheldon Cooper on "The Big Bang Theory" — and according to an oral history of the series, Parsons had a really unique process when it came to learning Sheldon's long, super-specific monologues and diatribes.

In Jessica Radloff's 2022 book "The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series," showrunner and creator Chuck Lorre told the author that Parsons always came to set completely ready to perform. "Jim's process was to be wildly prepared," Lorre recalled. "He made all his decisions the night before the table read as to how he was going to read his script."

"The Big Bang Theory" is no stranger to removed scenes. In fact, one of the pilot episode's scenes aged so badly that it was removed from syndication by creator Chuck Lorre. Still, while the CBS sitcom isn't generally known for its adults only content, it does know how to play naughty on occasion. In fact, one particular scene of the show got a little too frisky for British advertisers, and as a result, it was removed from the UK version of the episode in question (via The Mirror).

The scene takes place in "The Big Bang Theory" season 10, episode 7, titled "The Veracity Elasticity." It shows Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in Bdsm gear, with the former chained to a St. Andrew's Cross. The shirtless Leonard is wearing a leather harness and a collar, while Penny is decked in a corset with a somewhat revealing neckline and a fetish cap.
