Uncanny X-Men was undoubtedly the best comic book of the week. It was a shining example of amazing writing (Gail Simone) and artwork (David Marquez) coming together to deliver the absolute best combination imaginable. It was so good that it deserved its own article (you can read it here).
But Uncanny X-Men wasn’t the only comic book worth reading. This week, Marvel and Skybound / Image Comics dominated the best of the week. And thus, let's dive into them!

This was one of the most balanced five comic book picks of the week. Image, Marvel, DC, and Dynamite Comics were all represented this week. Each of this week’s issues had a great story, furthered their storylines, and helped enhance their respective characters, too.
But which ones truly stood out? Let’s get right to it with the best comic book of the week.

According to inside sources, James Gunn and Warner Brothers Animation are collaborating to create an animated series based on the Jurassic League comics from DC. Now that you have seen Transformers: Dark of the Moon, what did you think of it? Is your movie review of Transformers: Dark of the Moon that it is better than Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen? It couldn’t have been worse, could it? We reviewed that Transformers film here: Film Review: Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen. Sami Jarroush, in the video below, feels the same way and touches on a few other key points.

Plucking down $12 -$20 dollars to see CGI robots fight in 3D is an expense some people have chosen to avoid in lieu of seeing the film in 2D for $5-$10. Were you one of them?
I have heard that critics are almost divided on the film and read some criticism of first-time actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley acting ability. If this is true, what did these people expect?...

The Transformers: Dark of the Moon Movie Trailer has premiered. Michael Bay‘s Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) stars Shia Labeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Transformers: Dark of the Moon’s plot synopsis: “the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime “Transformers” character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth. The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft on the Moon and must race against the Decepticons to find it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers’ final battle.” I actually like the sound effects from the Transformers: Dark of the Moon: Super...

Jason salutes Carl Macek, who died at the weekend. For he was the man that introduced him, and many others, to anime through Robotech...
I found out this morning that a pioneer in Japanese Animation passed away over the weekend. Carl Macek died on Saturday at the age of 59. Mr. Macek isn't a name many would recognize in the anime world, but if you live outside of Japan, he was very instrumental in introducing you to anime.
He is most famous (and sometimes hated) for his work on the series Robotech, which itself was a work created from three separate anime series: Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeda. His task was hardly simple, as he needed to, essentially, take three separate and unrelated series, and create an arc between them, to enable the show to have a long enough run for syndication, at the same time localizing it.
