A native of Alabama, Yonda Davis came to California and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from the University of Southern California. She then became involved in the Black Actors Network and joined a series of workshops sponsored by Warner Brothers Studios, which taught actors a robust business approach to their careers. Her over twenty years as an acting coach resulted in the creation of The Davis Technique, which combines her insightful observations of actors and acting with a profound recognition of what it takes to launch a successful acting career.
