- Was involved with the Friends of the Black Panthers; a fund raising organization. In 1969 she was arrested for conspiracy to possess explosives. She had attempted to buy hand grenades for the Black Panthers. She spent five days in jail for the hand grenade incident and was subsequently denied a work permit and was forced to return to Canada.
