Serious-looking character actor with stage experience and extensive credits in television. Close friend of both Marlon Brando and Wally Cox.

Although he was 53 years old when he played Doc Holliday in Spectre of the Gun (1968), Holliday was only 30 at the time of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral on October 26, 1881 and 36 at the time of his death on November 8, 1887.

He served in World War II.
