- Played football as an offensive running back starter in the 1951, 1952, and 1953 seasons for one of the era's powerhouse teams, the University of Oklahoma, Norman, under head coach Bud Wilkinson, scoring five touchdowns and played in the 1954 Orange Bowl game. After graduation he played one season in the Canadian Football League with the Edmonton Eskimos, recently renamed the Edmonton Elks.
- Aside from a few minor (and usually devious) characters, Jack Ging was The A-Team (1983)'s only confirmed death of a principal character. He was killed in his "Bull Fullbright" role, after fighting alongside "The A-Team" to find his long-lost daughter in a mission to Vietnam, in the episode, The Sound of Thunder (1986).
