It’s almost mind-boggling to know just how many well-known actors today auditioned for roles in our favorite sitcoms from back in the day. It’s hard to picture anyone other than the actors who eventually landed the parts, but it’s really fascinating to see how things turned out for everyone.

It’s intriguing to think about how different the show might have been with Hankin in that role. While character actor Larry Hankin never intended to become an actor in the first place, with a career spanning over five decades, he has nearly 200 acting credits under his belt, which includes Friends and Escape from Alcatraz. Although he isn’t a household name, he has become a recognizable face, thanks to his involvement in several high-profile projects, including Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad.

Lisa Kudrow’s an absolute pro, and this Friends story just proves it. Imagine being in serious pain while filming a hilarious scene and still managing to smile through it all. That’s exactly what went down during one of Friends’ iconic moments. While Phoebe Buffay was busy cracking us up on screen, Lisa was dealing with a whole lot behind the scenes.

The actor later revealed she was battling some intense discomfort but still nailed the scene like a champ. Talk about commitment! It’s one of those moments where you realize just how much these actors go through to keep us laughing—pain or not, Kudrow delivered the goods.

Bryan Cranston may have been the mastermind Heisenberg on Breaking Bad, but off-screen, he wasn’t about to let anyone slack. During filming, Cranston reportedly lost his cool on a co-star who just couldn’t get their lines right. In a show as sharp and intense as Breaking Bad, there’s no room for fumbling—and Cranston wasn’t having it. The actor’s explosive reaction wasn’t just about perfectionism, it was about protecting the flow and energy of the scene.

There are plenty of great Clint Eastwood movie moments in "Escape from Alcatraz," but it's not just the veteran star that made this a legendary prison break thriller. Directed by Don Siegel, the film was an adaptation of J. Campbell Bruce's 1963 non-fiction book of the same name, which chronicled the real-life June 1962 Alcatraz escape attempt. "Escape" also marked the fifth and final collaboration between the Siegel and Eastwood, and it's a fitting end to their fruitful working relationship. Still regarded as one of the finest films of the 1970s, "Escape" was met with widespread critical acclaim upon its 1979 release and its reputation hasn't faltered since.
Aside from the tight direction and excellent lead performance, the film also features stellar supporting performances from the likes of Patrick McGoohan, Fred Ward, Jack Thibeau, and Larry Hankin. What's more, it marked the film debut of Danny Glover, who of course went on...

1990 was a peak year for Van Damage. The Muscles from Brussels was on the way to the big time after Bloodsport and Kickboxer (which made our list of the Best Fighting Movies) proved to be huge moneymakers at the box office. But, Jean-Claude Van Damme was different from some of his contemporaries because he was a hearthrob and a prime butt-kicker. His 1990 movie Lionheart was bought for distribution by Universal, paving the way to his breaking into mainstream studio work. But, before he could jump on that gravy train, he had one more movie left to make on his Cannon movie deal – but ironically, the company itself would not release the film theatrically due to its waning fortunes, with this being Van Damme’s first major studio release after MGM opted to distribute it. The movie? Death Warrant!

With the passing of Matthew Perry breaking the hearts of Friends fans everywhere, tributes have begun pouring in online, with many noting how the always upbeat show was therapeutic to those going through rough times. I, for one, binged on the show during the pandemic. As the world shut-down around me, it was comforting to jump into a show I loved so much growing up. To my delight, the series worked (for me) just as well as it did twenty or so years ago. To pay tribute to Matthew Perry and his iconic portrayal of Chandler Bing, we here at JoBlo thought it would be a good idea to list our picks for the best Chandler episodes.

After 17 years off the air, the cast of Friends assembled for Friends: The Reunion, which launched on Thursday.
The special is now streaming on HBO Max, and there were many big reveals about the beloved comedy series.
In this reboot-heavy world, many have pondered whether a scripted update of the series could come to pass, but it sounds like it will never happen.
Lisa Kudrow spoke for her castmates by explaining a potential reboot:

After seemingly endless delays, the Friends reunion is finally here! Debuting this month on HBO Max, the special will reunite the original cast of the iconic sitcom, finally together after several delays in filming. The main cause of the delay is pretty simple: the Covid-19 pandemic kicked in last year just before the originally planned filming dates. So when did they end up filming after all?
According to TMZ, the reunion was shot in early April, spanning about three days of filming on the Warner Bros. studio lot. The filming apparently took place across indoor and outdoor sets, including some of the iconic sets from the original show. TMZ also reported that a live audience participated in some of the filming, but instead of allowing the general public on set, the audience consisted of pre-screened, Covid-tested union actors who were hired as extras for the shoot.

HBO Max has finally set the premiere date for its long-awaited “Friends” reunion special and provided a first look at the event, aptly titled, “Friends: The Reunion.” But we’re warning you, this teaser is truly a teaser, seeing as all it shows are the blurry shadows of “Friends” stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer walking around the Warner Bros. "Love & intimacy can lead to grotesque physical transformation." Danger, danger. This quirky "dystopian rom-com" couldn't be more perfect for the current situation we're all in right now. Date Nite is a new short film made by filmmaker J.J. Shpall, that imagines a world where "romantic intimacy can lead to grotesque physical transformation" because there's a virus that preys on romantic desire. Of course. One lonely man decides to risk his life for a chance at human connection. Starring Josh Brener as Jon, Lauren Lapkus as Maya, along with Cleo King and Larry Hankin. This was obviously made before the coronavirus shut down the entire world, but it seems to fit right in with the times – fear of physical contact and all. This has a somber feeling to it that's lightened up by the awkward dark comedy jammed right in, which makes it extra strange. Seems like a funky mix of Her and The Lobster,...

If you’ve seen Netflix‘s highly anticipated “Breaking Bad” follow-up from last fall, you know why Aaron Paul is an Emmys front-runner for reprising his role as meth-making tragic hero Jesse Pinkman. But there’s one other former cast member who appears throughout “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” that I’m hoping awards voters will also consider: Jesse Plemons.
Plemons’ role as creepy Todd Alquist, an aspiring meth cook and nephew of white supremacists, came to a brutal end in the 2013 series finale of “Breaking Bad” when Jesse broke free of his cage and choked him with a chain. But thanks to flashbacks, fans experienced even more of Todd in “El Camino,” with Plemons giving a career-best performance. Back when Todd was keeping Jesse in captivity, there was one weekend where he let the scraggly prisoner out to help him with a “favor.” As it turns out, Todd...

For months everyone involved in “El Camino,” the new “Breaking Bad” sequel movie released on Netflix, acted as though the movie didn’t even exist, making everyone online and in the press look stupid for even asking. And Jesse Plemons, who reprises his role as Todd from “Breaking Bad” in the film, was in on that scam.
In fact, Plemons even said the lying about filming the movie even became second nature after a while.
“It was really strange at the beginning to flat out lie to strangers repeatedly. And then, you kind of get used to it,” Plemons told Seth Meyers on Wednesday’s “Late Night.”
“It started to become more and more fun, I have to say. Nope! Not me, not in that,” he said.

“El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie,” which dropped on Netflix Oct. 11, drew around 6.5 million total viewers in its first three days on the streaming platform, according to Nielsen.
The movie also reached just under 8.2 million unique TV viewers. “El Camino” unsurprisingly drew its biggest audience of the three days on day 1, totaling 2.6 million U.S. viewers in its first 24 hours.
According to the trusted audience measurer, about 36% of the film’s audience over its first three days were adults in the ages 18-34 demographic. For comparison, the final season premiere of the meth-centered show drew 5.9 million total viewers on Netflix back in 2013.

As the first (and maybe only) ever Breaking Bad movie, El Camino features plenty of Easter eggs and references from the classic series.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan faced an interesting challenge with the first Breaking Bad movie, El Camino.
On the one hand, he had to develop a self-contained story that would appeal to millions of Netflix subscribers scrolling through their accounts and seeing a movie with a weird Spanish car name. Netflix has shared a new trailer for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and as you’ll see, it features the return of another character from the original series. That character is junkyard owner Old Joe, who is played by Larry Hankin. Old Joe helped Walter White and Jesse Pinkman out of several scenarios.
The teaser shows Joe taking a call from fugitive Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), who is on the run after escaping the white supremacist compound where Walter White (Bryan Cranston) committed mass murder. This next chapter of the story will continue to follow Pinkman after the events of the Breaking Bad series finale. Obviously, he’s going to need a little help from Joe again in some way.
The logline for the film reads, “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.
