Celebrity gardener Diarmuid Gavin was caught out checking into a hotel whilst filming for his new BBC show Famous Rich And Jobless.
The star was supposed to be residing with a low income jobless family and living on just £9 a day while on the show, however show staff caught the 45 year old checking into a Travelodge and paying with a forbidden credit card.
Show mentor Emma Harrison told The Sun:
“At the start of the show, Diarmuid was supposed to give us all his cash and credit cards.
“But he hid a credit card from us and when he was placed with an unemployed family he didn’t like it and went and stayed in a hotel.”
After being caught Diarmuid argued: “I haven’t left their home out of anger or frustration or seeking comforts. I saw something that I felt was wrong and had to take a stand.
