My Adventures with Superman is one of the most brilliant superhero animated series. There’s no doubt that Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling) were the right endgame for Smallville. And not just because Lois and Clark almost always inevitably end up together. Their years of loathing turning to respect and then love makes for some great TV, and Durance and Welling’s chemistry is incredible. However, even though Smallville mostly hit the mark with Clark’s love-life by the end of the series, his first love, Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk), deserved so much better than the arc she was given.

Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in Smallville, is opening up about the idea he has for a sequel series in an animated form.

In a new interview, Rosenbaum revealed he and Tom Welling were developing an animated series with the original cast and creators of the show that originated in 2001 on the now-defunct WB network.

“All I could share is that it’s a great idea. We have Al [Gough] and Miles [Millar], the creators of Smallville, backing us up,” Rosenbaum said in an interview with Screen Rant. “When it’s the right time, we’d like to go and do this: pitch to Warner Bros. It has to be the right time, and right now is not the right time.”

A Blue Mountain State sequel series is reportedly being shopped around, with Ritchson — as well as former co-stars Darin Brooks and Chris Romano — set to reprise their roles from the three-seasons-and-a-Kickstarter-movie Spike comedy.

Cult college football series Blue Mountain State is making a comeback. A sequel to the 2010 comedy recently hit the TV marketplace, with Reacher’s Alan Ritchson set to reprise his role as Kevin “Thad” Castle. The original series’ co-leads Darin Brooks and Chris Romano also are expected to be back for the followup, from Lionsgate Television.

According to sources, the project has not fully landed yet with negotiations ongoing. The likely destinations are said to be Amazon, where Ritchson headlines hit series Reacher, and Netflix, where Blue Mountain State found new audience and cemented its cult status following its original three-season run on Spike.

Ah, the glory days of early 2000s television, when studios scrambled to capitalize on the success of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Friends," and "Beverly Hills, 90210." Enter The WB's "Smallville," a Superman prequel based on the blue boy's formative years, before he donned the tights, red underwear, and cape. Starring Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lane, Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor, Sam Jones III as Pete Ross, and Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan, the series offered a fun spin on the Superman story and tinkered with iconic characters in a way that made them feel fresh. Abramorama will give a theatrical release to “Straight Into A Storm,” the music driven documentary about the band Deer Tick, starting on June 15 in New York at the Roxy Cinema Tribeca.

In recent years, Abramorama has specialized in handling music driven documentary films, partnering with Neil Young, Green Day, Pearl Jam and The Beatles. “Straight Into A Storm” is directed by William Miller and produced by Jason Diamond, Josh Diamond and Miller.

Abramorama will implement a release strategy that has the film hitting cities Deer Tick will play on their upcoming tour in addition to other key markets. The film will also have a special screening in New York City on June 19 for music industry executives as part of the A2IM conference.

To commemorate the five-year anniversary of the Smallville series finale, TVLine is republishing this oral history which was first compiled by Matt Webb Mitovich for the June 2011 issue of CBS’ Watch! Magazine (and has been enhanced for this update).

With those words, spoken by Jonathan Kent in the Smallville pilot, a new take on the superman saga found a home that would last for 10 years.

Blue Mountain State sees three football-mad freshman – Alex (Brooks), a talented quarterback who is content to sit on the bench and party with his best friend Sammy (played by co-creator Chris Romano), who aspired to be nothing more that the school’s football mascot; and Craig (Jones III), whose life and career has already been mapped out by his overbearing girlfriend – arrive at a football-crazy mid-western college where they must learn to juggle football, girls, studying and non-stop partying.

Clark has a near-death experience where Jor-El (Terence Stamp) tells him of how the world is still at risk from evil, that Kal-El is too proud to save the world and to be a hero. Clark believes the greater evil is Lex as he sees him in the shadows of his experience, only to be brought back by Lois. She pulls out the blue krytonite dagger embedded in his body, allowing him to heal. Lo and behold, the sun shines and it stops raining, allowing Clark to get his energy from the sun to heal faster. She meanwhile stands by and watches from the outskirts, a safe distance away, gotta wonder why he never had any idea or sensed that someone was there. Sam Jones III, known for his work on 'Smallville' and 'ER' has been sentenced to a year in prison for his role in a drug ring.

TMZ is reporting that Jones plead guilty to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 pills of Oxycodone, a painkiller, and was sentenced to 366 days in prison, even though the prosecutor wanted him to serve 5 years.

It is reported that before sentencing Jones pleaded with the judge to show mercy explaining that he had lost everything including his dog, car and his acting role in 'Blue Mountain State' due to the drugs charges.

The judge showed leniency and said he was cutting the actor a break due to his "minor" role in the drug deal.

E! Online is reporting that in addition to the jail term, the judge has ordered that Jones to serve three years supervised probation once he's released from a jail.

Washington, June 19: It has emerged that Karissa Shannon's break-up with Sam Jones III came after she and her twin sister Kristina decided to move back into Hugh Hefner's palace.

A year and a half after moving out, the 21-year-old twins yet again have decided to land up into the Playboy mansion, reports TMZ.com.

The move came just after the break-up of Hefner and his 25-year-old ex-fiancee Crystal Harris.

Smallville actor Sam Jones III and his Playboy model girlfriend Karissa Shannon have ended their controversial romance, according to a U.S. report.

The couple, who hit headlines last year over rumours they had agreed a deal to release a sex tape, recently ended their relationship and Shannon moved out of the home they shared, according to TMZ.com.

News of the reported split comes just days before Jones is due to be sentenced for his part in a drug deal. He pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to supply drugs and is due to be handed his punishment on 22 June. He is facing up to 20 years in jail.

This was the very first exchange between awkward teen Clark Kent and his not-so-secret crush Lana Lang back on October 16, 2001, when "Smallville" debuted on television. He is set to be sentenced on June 22 and is facing up to 20 years in jail, but in new court papers obtained by TMZ, the actor allegedly claims he felt compelled to take part in the drug operation to help his friend Tom Cataloni pay off a $90,000 (GBP56,000) debt to dealers.

In the document, Jones also insists he should be handed a reduced sentence as he only played a "minor role" in the gang's activities, the website reports.

When Smallville announced it was in its final stretch, a new inevitability arose: when would fans get their 'Complete Series' DVD and Blu-ray sets? For now, the answer is still a vague "Fall 2011" (though it's going to be the same day they release the 10th season), but until then fans can begin pondering the question that every faithful fan of every TV show has to ask themselves. What to do when that 'Complete Series' set of your favorite show hits the shelves. For Smallville fans, I'm guessing this will either be a wash or a case of double-dipping (and selling off single season sets on craigslist or eBay), because part of the effort in keeping their beloved show soaring over Metropolis was buying up the DVD sets with gusto.

Jones, best known as Pete Ross, Clark Kent's best friend in The CW series, pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court as a coconspirator in the drug ring.

He was arrested in October 2009 by the Drug Enforcement Administration for illegally pushing the painkillers. The feds believed that he was the "Hollywood" connection in the ring's purchase and distribution of the drugs, according to eonline.com.

If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in jail. He will be sentenced in June.
