What do Donna Summer, Parliament, Gladys Knight, The Isley Brothers, The Village People, and Bill Withers all have in common with the rock band Kiss? They all rose to their musical heights under the watchful ear of the music industry’s most colorful and brilliant music producer, Neil Bogart, founder of Casablanca Records, the most successful independent record company of all time. Along with a rag tag team of young music lovers, Casablanca Records would rewrite history and change the music industry forever. Their mix of creative insanity, a total belief in each other and the music they were creating, shaped our culture and ultimately defined a generation. ★★★★★ Nowhere (1997) follows Totally F***ed Up (1993) and The Doom Generation (1995) as the third and final instalment in renegade filmmaker Gregg Araki's Teenage Apocalypse trilogy. Jam-packed full of rampant, libidinous teens that exist in a multicultural, pop art, dystopian fantasy, watching Nowhere is what might happen were you to read Naked Lunch before bed. Araki's muse James Duval is at the centre of the action, his character Dark Smith the embodiment of the apocalypse. He edits tapes in an attempt to control his life, whilst his bisexual girlfriend, Mel (Rachel True), simply can't commit to him.
This lack of commitment sees Dark's mind become a mass of bubbling confusion, especially after meeting Montgomery (Nathan Bexton). The theme of alienation follows Dark like a heavy cloud, eventually taking on literal form in a scene involving a ghastly explosion that would make undoubtedly have made Franz Kafka proud. Various interconnected sup-plots...

The casting director of "Never Been Kissed" had an excellent eye for young talent. You might remember Marley Shelton, Leelee Sobieski and Jessica Alba in their early (but notable) roles.
But do you remember Oscar nominee/host James Franco lurking in the background?
Considering Franco's current box office draw -- and the hype around his upcoming comedy "Your Highness" -- his 4th-tier status in "Never Been Kissed" strikes us as pretty hilarious.
Credited as James Edward Franco, he plays a character named Jason -- but you’ll probably have to wait until the credits role to notice, since they only say his name once during the film. Jason is a member of the gang of cool surrounding teenaged alpha male Guy Perkins (Jeremy Jordan). They torment the nerds, including Drew Barrymore’s undercover geek character, Josie Gellar.
He only has a couple lines and just follows Guy Perkins' lead on everything; kind of funny,...

Love him or hate him, one thing is for sure: Director David DeCoteau is a legend in the horror entertainment field. That can't be denied. He's the man responsible for 80's camp classics such as Nightmare Sisters and Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama. Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama gathered a once in a lifetime B movie cast including Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead), Brinke Stevens (Grandma's House), Michelle Bauer (Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers), Robin Stille (The Slumber Party Massacre), Hal Havins (Night of the Demons), and George 'Buck' Flower (They Live). While Sorority Babes was one of the most downright fun horror films of the 80's, another element stood out about the film, one that would go on to shape and define David DeCoteau's career. See, David DeCoteau cast this complete unknown named Andras Jones in the lead role. Right off the bat, you could...
