Harry Stephen Keeler(1890-1967)
- Writer
Harry Stephen Keeler was a prolific author of detective fiction who was
popular in the 1920s and 1930s. He specialized in the "webwork plot",
an exaggeratedly convoluted narrative style. He was the creator of some
of the most original and idiosyncratic mysteries ever written. "Sing
Sing Nights" (1927) inspired at least two films:
Sing Sing Nights (1934) and
The Mysterious Mr. Wong (1934),
both from Monogram Pictures.
