Has tattoos of a Native American leader and an Aztec sun god. However, the Nazi swastika tattoo that shows up on his role in HBO's Oz (1997) was only make-up.

As a child, he lived in Queens, New York, with his divorced mother and three older sisters. He was a popular child model in advertising, partly because of his bright-red hair.

Graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh with a degree in theater.

He can be seen as the grocery store sales clerk in Fiber One company's 2008-2009 television advertisements. (March 2009)
