“Holiday Twist,” an upcoming feature from Etm Pictures, announced on Thursday that a group of cast members added to the film, with production up and running in Los Angeles.

Sean Astin (“Lord of the Rings”), Neal McDonough (“Yellowstone”), Haley Reinhart (“F is for Family”), Emily Tosta (“Mayans M.C.”) and Brian Thomas Smith (“Big Bang Theory”) will join the film, which is led by Kelly Stables (“Superstore”), and features James Maslow and Hugh Sheridan.

Per Etm: “The story centers on Stables’ character, a Grinchy workaholic CEO whose whole world comes crashing down, before, with help from a Supermarket Santa and a little holiday magic, she realizes the key to letting go of her painful past is to become the twinkling light that both her town and her family needs.”

Exclusive: Dallas Roberts (Big Sky), Arden Myrin (Orange Is the New Black) and Harvey Guillén (Reacher) have signed on to star in the comedy Road Dogs, from Bustled Knuckle Productions and Residue Remains Productions, which goes into production in Minnesota this summer.

The film centers around three stand-up comedians who hit the road for a simple weekend showcase but soon find their plans derailed by a crooked club owner and her homicidal bouncer. Vanessa Leigh is directing from her and Aaron W. Bennett’s script, which was based on Bennett’s time as an improv comic and comedy club owner in Central Washington. The duo will produce alongside Kris Black from Residue Remains Productions, with Hunter G. Williams of Busted Knuckle Productions serving as executive producer.

Exclusive: The critically acclaimed historical drama series Underground, which aired for two seasons on Wgn America, is heading to OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. OWN said today it has acquired the series to air beginning Tuesday, January 5 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt. Sinclair Broadcast Group is acquiring Wgn parent-company, Tribune Media and its slew of television stations, and Wgn America is one of them. After the higher performing series Outsiders was cancelled last month, it started to look like Wgn America may no longer run original scripted programming. Starz announced today that the highly-anticipated eight-episode first season of their original Series American Gods, adapted from Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel, will make its network premiere on Sunday, April 30th at 9/8c.

Starz also debuted the U.S. key art, which you can see below.

Both announcements come ahead of the World Premiere and extended Q&A of the series at SXSW in March. The series will debut publicly at the festival on March 11 at 11c at the Vimeo Theater in the Austin Convention Center followed by an extended Q&A moderated by Kcrw’s Elvis Mitchell.

Showrunners and cast in attendance will include Bryan Fuller, Michael Green, Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Crispin Glover, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Orlando Jones, Jonathan Tucker and Betty Gilpin.

John Legend is going “Underground.” The executive producer on the Wgn America Underground Railroad series has been cast in Season 2 in the guest starring role of Frederick Douglass, the famous abolitionist, author and orator. Born into slavery, Douglass escaped bondage and settled in the North. He went on to become one of the most revolutionary leaders of the nineteenth century. A prominent writer, celebrated speaker and progressive political reformist, Douglass led the charge to wipe out slavery in America once and for all. “Underground” has cast Sadie Stratton in a recurring role for Season 2 as real-life slave catcher Patty Cannon, TheWrap has learned exclusively. Stratton takes over the role from Brigid Brannagh, who played Cannon in the Season 1 finale of the Wgn America drama. Cannon was a leader of the infamous Cannon-Johnson Gang, who would kidnap free blacks and fugitive slaves to sell them into slavery in the South. Cannon died in prison after being convicted of killing four black children. She is suspected of having committed up to a dozen murders.
